Thank you. Most other fly fishing videographers waste time on Narcissistic face time, not to mention BAD music! Yours are humorous, entertaining, and informative--with no extra crap.
The sort of creek that is perfectly suited for tenkara…and the feeding fish were a real bonus. Nice multi-species habitat, I’m sure those tigers were a big surprise. Thanks for sharing your experience in such a beautiful place!
Man, i love your videos. Because of your videos i took up Tenkara last year, made my own flies, caught some great fish in some unsuspecting places. My daughter and i look forward every weekend for whatever your adventure might be. thank you for taking us along, and handing out the inspiration
Great video Tristan…three species, including a 10” rainbow, out of that tiny little creek? Unbelievable. Thanks for allowing an old man tag along with you to places I can no longer get to. Great stuff! 👍
@@TenkaraAddict Very hard to find tenkara supplies. There is no tenkara shop or website in all Balkan (Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Croatia...). But the fishing is great.
How fun. Some of the most surprising fishing for me has been on tiny creeks you wouldn’t expect to hold fish. I caught 10 rainbows including a 10” on a 20yd section of tiny creek in Idaho next to a remote forest road. That was some of the most fun I’ve ever had using a Tenkara rod.
Tristan, great job, thanks for showing us this great little creek. I have noticed that you walk in the creek a lot in your videos, could you please tell us what boots and waders you use and how you rate them. Thanks, Rod B
I use the Redington Benchmark boots. I hate them. They don't stick well to slippery rocks. I don't remember if I was using waders in this video or not, but when I do wear them, they're the Chota Tundra Hippies. Great hip waders.
Rainbow trout and brook char can also hybrid and are known as cheetah trout. There is a chance that if browns are absent, then the hybrids may have been cheetahs. Thoughts?
In the years I have fished Utah waters, I've still never hooked into a tiger. Tons of rainbows and cutthroats, and even some browns, and a tiny handful of brookies. But never a tiger.
The key is to fish little creeks that flow into lakes/reservoirs that tigers have been stocked in. I've caught tigers in probably 6 or 8 Utah creeks that way.
Enjoyed the video. Just began trying tenkara fishing this spring. Our local streams mainly have bass and bluegill (in Ohio). Any recommendations for fly? Hoping to get out to some other locations soon. Thank you for sharing.
Question do you think Tenkara will ever be accepted in America? It's been so many years since I bought my first Tenkara rod in 2009 and I almost never see anyone else out fishing Tenkara.
@@Bneumanns124 agreed. But looking at the 2023 DWR Stocking Report, they don't stock Tiger Trout in Duschene or Uintah counties smaller than 8 inches... sometimes 10 inches, though there are exceptions. I would be interested to know which lake this was, and whether these were just incredibly rare Tigers that occur naturally, or if they were incredibly improbably stocked trout that made their way up the creek for some reason.
Tiger trout are put in lakes to try to control sucker populations. They are hybrids that can not reproduce so obviously they do stock them in all sizes. They do get very large in lakes with lots of suckers.
@@caguas97 Anecdotal, but here in AZ we also have small creeks with brooks and browns. The naturally occurring tiger trout are so rare to find, but one was indeed recorded this year within a feeder creek to one of our stocking lakes. To see multiple fingerling tigers caught here was really amazing
Utah does indeed stock fingerling tiger trout throughout the state. The lake that this creek flows into was stocked with them, so I'm guessing that's why they're in this creek.
Just an FYI, RUclips keeps unsubscribing me from your channel. This seems to happen all the time, and on lots of my subscriptions. I've been watching your weekly videos for some time now, and it's very annoying that RUclips keeps doing this, and it's unfair to people like you when they reduce your subscribers for no reason, while they base their pay scale on how many views and subscribers you have.

I don't even watch your videos for the fish, I watch them for the beautiful scenery. You always seem to find the most beautiful places to fish.
Thanks, I try! I'm driven to find the most interesting and beautiful places to fish 😁
I like it when you make a point of returning a fish to the pool you caught it from. Not everyone would do that. 👍
If you want more tigers I have a great spot here in Utah where you can catch hundreds among a few Splake as well. Very creeky. Great video.

Great little stream to fish! I'm planning to get out all spring to Tenkara Northern AZ. Nice tiger trout!! Such great markings.
Sounds awesome! I've fished a couple of Arizona creeks but not enough. I've got to get back there. Thanks Brian!

Wild tiger trout, you don't see that every day!
I don't think they were wild. I think they were stocked into the lake that this creek flows into.
Seems like a top 3 creek to me
It was pretty great!
Nice Tiger

Literally any tenkara-style fly will work on those guys. Have fun!
Be careful where there are lots of berry bushes. Birds like berries. Rattle snakes like birds.
I encounter rattlesnakes occasionally. Never had any issues with them.
Do you have a recommendation for a sub $50 starter rod?
Question do you think Tenkara will ever be accepted in America? It's been so many years since I bought my first Tenkara rod in 2009 and I almost never see anyone else out fishing Tenkara.
Maybe there are Brown Trout in the lake that spawn in the creek?
Very well could be!
So with the Tigers in there there must be some browns? Or have they been stocked as fingerlings?
I believe they were stocked into the lake that this creek flows into.
Difficult little creek. Skinny fish, hard fish lives.
A Tiger Trout that small must be naturally-occurring. They don't stock them that small, and they certainly don't stock that particular creek.
Very strange to catch that many tiger trout and no browns though…
