With the wave Nouveau there is trick with the rollers they have to be the right size for your length of hair if not your curl will look droppy. When your hair grow out you increase the size of the rollers. The roller they use on your head were the wrong size the Wave Nouveau is a gradual process. If you look at the causansion cold wave it work the same way. Most important you have to cut the dead end off at first. I had a curl in the 80's and it was down my back (Just like the wet and wavy weave) I just got a curl or Wave Nouveau and I wet it it curl up more.
Why so much non Wave Nouveau products? Seems like you’re having to do way too much. I had a WN back in the early 90s and loved it. My hair stayed moisturized and grew like a weed...edges and all.
I got a wave nouveau curly perm June 2020, and I’m thinking about relaxing my hair. The wave nouveau has made my hair shed like crazy, but it’s finally growing again. I would highly not recommend a wave nouveau, but I documented my journey on my channel. To relax now or wait? That is the question ??? What are you thoughts?
I think it looks pretty in you. I just got this done. Mid back length, but cut it to my shoulders. I use Cantu activator spray diluted with water. A little if the Cantu activator cream. Then u set the curls with Got to Be mousse. I get soft defined curls. At night I spray a bit of leave-in, twist it up(every other night I did the plastic bag method for a deeper moisturizing "greenhouse")
Had a WN since 20 yrs old. Now I am 60 yrs old. Tried a straight perm once and THAT was a disaster. My daughter went WN in her 20s she is now in her 30s and loving it.
How often do you have to change your pillowcase? You literally used every line of hair-curling products, when that is not all necessary for this particular style.
Oh yes, those were the days. LOL. I wore a jheri for about 20+ years!! What's interesting is the amount of work you have to do to get the curls/waves back in. With me, the curls came back in almost immediately. It just shows you how different everyone's hair really is. Much love.
Looks nice, can you wear this hair style in the winter? I use to put this stuff in my hair during the spring and summer months and cut it for the fall and winter. I'm thinking about putting this back in my hair. Do you put the Wave Nouveau in yourself or have a beautician put it in? Thanks.
I have a wave nouveau, o think the young ppl think they can use everything on their hair. You only need two products. Everyone knows water does your hair. It gets brittle and break. You didn’t need more water for a wave nouveau. I use the luster silk products on my wave nouveau bc the activator keeps my hair softer than the other nouveau activator. And the spray. Two products is all you need. Wave Nouveau is a DRY curl/wave. You really did a lot and you don’t have too. If your hair is shedding/broke off, you should try retouching sooner than later. Good luck.
another question dear: which foundation, make up, powder etc do u use? as if u can remember i also comes from ghana and i am a very dark skinned girl & i dont know which product i should use since am in germany and they havent got all the american products. AND how do u make ur eyebrows?? it would be very nice if u can do a lil make up tutorial how u style your face because i never was a girl who used make up all the time, sooo... it would be nice of u to show some tricks etc :)
@damnLiciouz hey sweetie, I use the MAC studio fix fluid in a NW 45 and the Studio Fix powder in an NW 43. I also use a primer called Prime Time by Bare Escentials. I hope that helps :)
Hi I'm having so many problems with my wn:(. PLEASE help me. It's so dry and I feel like I can't wear it down. After my 1st wash (on my own, and without a stylist) it just turned into a frizz Afro instead of how nice it was. My hair is really thick and I just combed it out like 5 mins ago, and it got worse! Should I re-wash it?
+TheBabyzzz2 put your product on and cap your hair for a while with a plastic cap. That should bring your wave pattern back and help stop the frizzies.
+Synergi Lund thank you so much! My hair is naturally curly, so the wn came out curlier than wavy. But it was so silky and fell to my shoulder at first, and now it just gets dry and shrinks. Will the cap help with that too? And what products work well with that? Thanks again!!
From my experience with these many years ago, it got frizzie after a wash. It would be some wavy some frizzle. I have thick hair, it took a lot of product to snap it back. Leaving it uncapped, my hair would dry out before the hair soaked it all up. If that makes sense lol. Hope that helps. :)
Awesome....Just did my daughter's hair and am having so much trouble...i wish i didnt do it. She's struggling herself....lol. Thanks for the tips and the relief by the way. I was wonder what the hell was happening to all her hair!...it shed so much!!! but hey, we'll keep trying...Thnx:)
Ikr!!! I was looking up Jheri curl weave for my natural hair and saw a few different videos about Jheri curls and wave nouveau. I hadn't seen someone proudly sport a Jheri curl since I was maybe 12 and that was back in '90-'91. Wow
What TF was the point of all that? Why not just use the WN curl activator and finishing spray instead of every other product on the market? The curls aren’t properly defined, it’s not supposed to look like that.
Sorry but that is not a very good curl or wave it's not even straight in the roots mostly straight on the shaft and ends I think it's the Rod's size that you used time for a a root retouch
No offense but it seems that it is even more work than the natural hair and it looks artificial I love you and your channel so this is just something that I would not like.
i had to come back and watch this video. This wave mess was such a fail and this video looks like you are trying to convince yourself that this was a good idea. Good gawd, that mess was hideous.

REGINA WYNN that is so true

i am so glad you cut this mess out of your hair. Its as if youre trying to convince yourself that you liked it.

You could wear any hairstyle, your face is just amazing.

@missMercieCouture what do u mean?? I was natural for a year then got the WN for 3 months.....
did you color your hair before doing the WN? Did the process cause your hair to lighten? I'm just curious...
another question dear: which foundation, make up, powder etc do u use? as if u can remember i also comes from ghana and i am a very dark skinned girl & i dont know which product i should use since am in germany and they havent got all the american products. I have a wave nuv and I'm sick of it can you tell me how I can go back to natural because I don't like the way the wave nuv do my hair now
@damnLiciouz hey sweetie, I use the MAC studio fix fluid in a NW 45 and the Studio Fix powder in an NW 43. I also use a primer called Prime Time by Bare Escentials. I hope that helps :)
Tip: To prevent the shedding, use Aphogee Protein Treatment.
@MsCocoBritt yes but only in the application. This style is done with perm rods whereas a texturizer is just leaving the relaxer for a shortened time.

Also after you take the cap off and have the wave you want, let it dry and.. you guessed it, more product!
+Synergi Lund oh my gosh thank you lol! I'm doing it right now!
you are such a beauty!!!
Awesome....Just did my daughter's hair and am having so much trouble...i wish i didnt do it. She's struggling herself....lol. Thanks for the tips and the relief by the way. I was wonder what the hell was happening to all her hair!...it shed so much!!! but hey, we'll keep trying...Thnx:)
i am suprise that ur edges are gone when i got my done a a few months back my edges grew even stronger

You look great! And your makeup is poppin'.. :-)
my edges are just like yours by the way are u natural

@cgillyard Yes, it is actually winter when I am wearing it. And Yes, I had a beautican do it :)
Now nearly 10 years later this is now a popular style. Did you enjoy it?
omgsh...the wave nouveau never heard of it before...but glad your back.
I didn't know they still had wave nouveau or jeri curls.
Ikr!!! I was looking up Jheri curl weave for my natural hair and saw a few different videos about Jheri curls and wave nouveau. I hadn't seen someone proudly sport a Jheri curl since I was maybe 12 and that was back in '90-'91. Wow
@RebeckaMichelle thank u sweetheart
BEAUTIFUL
would have loved to see your natural hair at 1 yr before the wave stuff
What TF was the point of all that? Why not just use the WN curl activator and finishing spray instead of every other product on the market? The curls aren’t properly defined, it’s not supposed to look like that.
That Wave Nouveau is nothing nice!
@Calidiva77 thank u girly, I hope you're doing well :)

Cute makeup
@mumplus2 I did the WN at 15 months..and I have a video of my 1 year natural hair journey :)

@Allahuyalam aww thank u !!
Thanks for sharing you WN experience with us. It was interesting! Either way, you are such a cutie! :-D
Sorry but that is not a very good curl or wave it's not even straight in the roots mostly straight on the shaft and ends I think it's the Rod's size that you used time for a a root retouch

@MissCinnamonCake Thanks :)
I'm not sure I like this look you should have stayed natural
U gonna go out with product still in ur hair?! Lol
Ummm, I see nothing appealing about this hair
I think it looks gorgeous on you
