In today's video I predict future MLB expansion and look at cities that would be good candidates for this. Comment below your thoughts!
Thanks again, stay tuned for more videos.

Boise ID is a nice small city. However that city / area isn’t big enough to support an MLB team. Metro population is around 750k. It has a very small TV market. Now it would be a perfect area to get a AAA minor league team from an expansion affiliate.
Yeah I do think Salt Lake City is a step ahead in that region. Possibly one thing not working for Salt Lake is that the city just took in the hockey team so perhaps that's enough sort of investment for the time being. Boise could for sure support a Triple AAA team and you have some baseball there already with the Hawks and such.
High speed rail from Cali to Honalulu?! My man, put down the pipe.
Lol yeah it is a crazy concept. Probably doesn't happen. But, my guess is the transportation to come in the future will be unpredictable and/or inconceivable from what we know now. Most likely the flights just get faster but we'll see.
@@PMSports7 Maybe we can train dolphins to pull people at supersonic speeds from the Santa Monica pier to Waikiki?
@@bronxpinstripes4905 That would be pretty cool lol. They would certainly have to do something swift in order to make some of these cities work.
I like the idea of teams in Charlotte, Montreal, Salt Lake City, Vancouver and Indianapolis, as each of these municipalities are ready for MLB franchises, have mostly good weather and sustained or growing populations. I'm not too high on any more teams in Texas or Florida, as the weather's not too great, and domed stadiums are just too expensive. Ditto New Orleans and Albuquerque. Mexico City is too unsafe, has severe air pollution problems and the altitude makes MLB-style baseball all but impossible. While I really like the cities of Boise and Bend, both are just too small to support MLB teams. Alaska and Hawaii just aren't good bets, due mainly to weather and travel distances, not to mention finite populations that really won't grow enough to support MLB.
Unfortunately, London/Europe -- as well as Asia -- will never happen; although we had the Concord supersonic passenger jet, which made the trip to/from the UK in two hours, it's no longer in operation because it was just too expensive to operate, and it would never have held an entire MLB team plus all of its gear. Terrific video! I'm now a subscriber...
Great points! Thanks for subscribing. Yeah I definitely believe it would be difficult to get a team in those cities like Boise or Bend. Hawaii and Alaska are more of a dream and same with the overseas teams haha. But, they did have a Triple-A team in Hawaii before - the Islanders. So, maybe it is possible.
Interesting, but MLB moves at a glacial pace, so almost none of these are going to happen. Boise? Anchorage? And no more Florida teams.
Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Charlotte, OKC, SLC, Portland, Nashville, and San Antonio. If they go into Mexico, they should add 2 in the Capitol. San Juan is also unlikely.
Trains?😂😂 Very funny
I can see them not adding a team in Florida again. Also didn't even cross my mind but OKC would be a solid option soon if not already!
Don't expand. Just move Oakland, Tampa Bay, and Miami to cities that want teams
I agree that they should relocate some of these struggling franchises before they consider expanding
If MLB grew a pair -
Sell the A's to Lacob and go to San Jose
Rays to Orlando
Marlins to Vegas or SLC (rebrand the team)
@@GravityFalloutPines It looks like the A's will be in Vegas without something crazy happening. Rays could be on the move but Miami is pretty locked in to a stadium deal.
They should look at promoting a Minor League team.
Lets say we leave two MLB expansion slots reserved for the top team in the minor leagues that gets promoted to the MLB.
You can protect the current teams from relegation, but if an unprotected/ promted team finishes bottom of the MLB they are relegated to the Minors and swap places with the top minors team.
That would be crazy and honestly awesome but I would guess there would be issues with players being affiliated with others teams and such. Also would be interesting with the minor league stadiums getting promoted up.
Well, Strengthened, Huh?
I think a Nashville and a London team would make things very interesting!
