Gary managed to hit that sweet spot of Art imitating Life / Life imitating Art, where his sounds in '79-81 were of a synthetically-driven, foreboding future; a fear of which the musician's union and other traditionalists to tear down Gary and this threatening future he painted. It was powerful and game-changing when he became a leading pop idol in this image. Still sounds great today.

Gary Numan you are futuristic i have been a fan since i was a teen ager since my father was a Elecronic Enginieer it was easy to relate to your music i always liked science Aircraft astronaunts space travell and science fiction these have always been the subjects i liked since i was young my late father influnced since a very young age

It's easy to spot weaknesses in the basic layout of the human body. The head is not really practical, you can put CPU in the chest, eyes can be put all over the robot, microphones too, even if you fit that machine with a 'burner' for human food, you would rather get your air intake through a continuous flow with turbines than with a set of mechanical longs… I think the spider-shape would be more efficient for a conquering hero robot design... with opposable thumbs on each tentacle
If you think to much about this song/video combo you put together its actually quite like the video/music combo of the Sharpe & Numan song 'Change Your Mind' but instead of Bill Sharpe at the Keyboards, you have Numan at the Keyboards this time creating an Android, or am I looking too deep ;)

She protected Pinochet, stole food from school kids, had a sick thing with paedophile Savile, ruined lives in the Battle of the Bean Field, the miners, the unions, the Falklands.... He argued on tv with Billy Brag and confused socialism with Nazi 'national socialism' bless him. Great artist nevertheless
