Beau's pivotal stunning strike | Critical Role Highlight | Campaign 2, Episode 29

  • In what may have been a campaign defining move, Beauregard is successful in her stunning strike against Lorenzo.. a move that only had a 35% chance of succeeding, as he had a +6 bonus to constitution saves.
From the time of the stun to his demise, Lorenzo took 101 of his total 176 damage, with Beau dealing 55 of them (Critrole Stats).
SIDENOTE : I do not tolerate Marisha Ray hate on this channel.
Taken from Critical Role, Campaign 2, Episode 29, "The Stalking Nightmare ".

To everyone complaining that Beau uses 2 bonus actions, remember this is a big combat at a liveshow, not even Matt realized it. Mistakes happen. And if you go back to the episode and watch the rest of the fight after this, Matt ends the enemies stun earlier than he should have, and the rest of the party missed out on advantage when they should have had it. So her extra 8 points of damage kinda balances out.

People hated her for a few reasons. People who like to play the game by making the "best" choices instead of by playing their characters (which is fine if that's what they're into) confused her characters with her and assumed she was dumb or something. Part of that is that she's a woman. If she'd been a man, people would have been much quicker to assume that she was role-playing or even just a noob than to assume she wasn't smart. It's probably not a conscious thing but it's still a problem in the nerd community. The other thing is that there's nothing wrong with playing with a focus on role-playing instead of "winning", and obviously these guys are all actors so they are here for the storytelling part of it more than anything. But yeh. People had little patience for her and I'm 100% sure they'd have had more patience for her if she'd been a guy. I personally think she's a legend. If you watch her Between the Sheets she's a total badass irl.

IF they do an animated series based on the Mighty Nein, this needs to be included. And the Lorenzo rematch needs to be the season 1 finale.
In particular, here’s how I would picture it going down:
Following Lorenzo’s sneak attack, Beau is sent flying and slammed into the wall, momentarily out of commission. And as everyone else is struggling to keep him pinned down, we see her fingers twitch and curl and then her eyes open.
She stands up, wiping the blood from her freshly-scarred eye (because she totally got that scar from him), and leaps back into the fray, landing the crucial stunning strike that leaves him wide open for Caleb’s Fire Bolt Finisher.
And then in the aftermath, Beau refuses to have it healed so that the scar remains. To remind herself of her failure and to motivate herself to not let history repeat itself.

Usually its because it just makes sense in regards to the story and my group prefers rp to combat mostly, I had a boss who only had 20hp left and I knew it would die the turn after the player who was connected to it had his turn, so I just decided to let him kill the boss so it could be a triumphant moment for his character. @starcrafter13terran Or... this is @SpeckoGirl's channel and she has every right to not tolerate certain types of comments in her comment sections. Nowhere did she say you couldn't have negative opinions about Marisha. She just doesn't want to hear/read it.
Also, you're wrong. People putting entertainers on pedestals do not set them on the path of being insufferable. It's when those entertainers begin to believe they deserve to be ON that pedestal that they begin that path. Marisha Ray, from what I've seen, doesn't believe that at all. She seems very humble. And she knows she has faults. She knows that some of the criticisms from the Critters are justified.

It's funny to hear someone call it an echo chamber when you and your buddies say the exact same things. Namely, everyone who doesn't agree with you about her and dares express an opinion that could be seen as some sort of defense is putting someone on a pedestal, being a white knight, yadda yadda.
Yet it's also the same group of people who routinely, condescendingly say "I mean of course she can't keep up with the others, she's there sitting at a table among gods/legends/giants/[insert additional absurd and hilariously ironic fanboy hyperbole here]" while they're in the middle of screeching about fans putting people on a pedestal and making them toxic celebrities.

What is more funny about your comment, outside of EVERYTHING others have already said...
is that you haven't followed up on your own advice. Not once did you say 'You've given me something to think about. Thank you.'
You may think it's not warranted, but that would mean that your 'advice' is also to be considered unwarranted.
Next time you try to bring critisism, why don't you try to EARN that right to let your critisism be something to actually think about?

Everyone makes mistakes, she’s just playing a game with her friends. It’s literal fantasy. I don’t understand why you have to be toxic like that. No one is perfect and I hope you go watch her Between the Sheets interview to see that she is a person just like you and me who truly cares about dnd and the critical role community, Have some empathy. Why do you feel the need to bring someone down over a game? Have some human decency.
