Just bought a used Mercury and fell in love. Will definitely consider this X. Only worthy sounds to me are older, classic electric sounds - so there’s that. And that’s why I’d buy the X
I have the Mercury addition and after some tweaking I really like it and can get some nice (tube like) sounds out of it. My only issue is that I seem to have to adjust it for each guitar pickup combo. I believe employing the some presets via the optional midi function would address this issue but going from single coils to humbuckers takes some tweaking to get the best results. I will definitely be checking this new version out when it is available. All that said I am not a big fan of the DI tones.
Well he said in one interview that it’s almost ready But he is still not satisfied yet I saved my coins and pennies When headrush 11 then helix and ax fx the first came out Followed by cortex so confusing Glad I waited For something more real
@@TheChristafershawn RUclips isn’t compressed like it used to be. Make sure you select 4k quality and use headphones. There is some noise but this is still an Alpha/Beta unit. The Mercury is an analog output which I do not like much but the X is using IR’s (as far as I know) and sounds just as good as anything else out there imo.
I was thinking the interface really dated until he said "it's analog". But I believe that I misinterpreted it, I guess it's a hybrid device, with some effects being analog, but digitally controlled.
I was hoping for 50s and 60s fender's -- Twins, Vibroluxes, Tremoluxes, 50s Standel 25L15, and Gibsons, early VOX AC15, AC 50, Dumbles, Dumble clones, Dumble #102, Marshal Bluesbreaker -- that sort of vintage. I was also hoping for tweakability to provide an amazing new amp design platform. Imagine what greats like Dumble and Krinard could produce with something like that.
I bought iridium some years back and then returned it when I realised AMPX was on its way ..that was several years back .. and it’s still “on its way” … that said I bet it’s going to be brilliant .. but sadly too late for me now
I have a FM9 too, but often I had a strange sound, it's a little bit like a violin. Now I have changed some knobs and I am ok with the sound, but I think, that I have to adjust somethink generell to avoid this strange sound.
Do you want it fast or want it right? Myself along with a lot of others waiting on this are glad Thomas is not rushing this out for sale to the public. He wants to be 100% sure it is good to go. Wish other companies did that!
High gain metal players already have their fat little tummies full of digital emulation amps. They are swimming in them. People are starving for vintage valve amps. Metal artists will never understand valves or care, IMO.
I have my reservations about the interface but the approach Thomas has is different to other companies and it’s a nice bridge between tube amps and modelers. I will wait to play it before I come to a conclusion.
I'd buy one
Me too
And I can’t effort it but I will
There's no other way to say it, this one is a dream come true. Well done
Looking forward to this being released.
Ive been waiting. I love the Iridium but this is the one I NEED!
We are all waiting for this!

Do you mean you are not a fan of the DI tones from the Mercury or the X?
@@aaronshortmusic Both, but I’m listening to crappy speakers through compressed RUclips so I’m not really sure what the X sounds like.

He had me at "final solution."
The final solution to all guitarists problem....
Is too get rid of all the synthesisers, and VSTs and samples and loops. Lol

Isn’t this what this X will be about?

It’s been a long time coming but I’m glad that they are waiting to get it right.
Gonna be hard to beat my FM9 but we shall see.

Thomas lass dich nicht verrückt machen. Ich warte lieber länger…bekomme aber dafür German Engineering 🤌⚒️😁
Recht hast du.Ich warte auch❤
Same procedure as every year
It’s way closer than it ever has been to be fair!

@@CS_Murphy_R9 I agree. So many products are rushed out before they are finished. It’s annoying.
@@CS_Murphy_R9 Once he ships it he cannot change the hardware. It needs to be done right.
No it's not. 😆
Soon LOL
More guitar gimmicks!
Not at all. This has been more than 4 years in development.
