There is something so satisfying watching you pack up in the mornings! You work like a well oiled machine! I think its important to have structure like that for your sobriety! You are an amazing human! I will miss your videos when you are off trail! Hope to catch you at Grayson Highlands this time through! Be safe!
Obviously tailored to your trail experiences. Organized. Videos shows how quickly you repack every morning. You have been in mid teens this last week. Cold and wet is the most dangerous. The miles, terrain and seasons you have hiked over nearly a year all the way to Canada provides great background for your gear choices. You might want to link this with Ramdino to inform NOBOs likely to encounter you in next months. Stay Toasty!!
Yo bro! Make sure you’re washing the Arc’teryx whenever you get the chance. Preferably with the tech wash from Grangers, Nu, GearAid, Nikwax etc. but if you don’t happen to come across any you can use a very, very small amount of regular detergent on a regular cycle Medium or Low heat deep water and double rinse if not triple rinse. Then toss it in the dryer on Medium or Low heat for 50 minutes. You want it bone dry so it’ll reactivate the DWR coating. It’s super important to keep it clean so the GORETEX doesn’t separate from the inner and outer layer. Figured I’d remind you like I did a few months back. Glad to see you’re still trucking along brother. Peace!
I will for sure! Soon as I woke up this morning, I realized I forgot to include the selfie stick and tripod. I’ll mention that in a video, but it’s the same tripod I’ve been using, Peak Design, and the selfie stick/tripod brand name is Vimity, a cheap Amazon magnetic selfie stick/tripod.
@@TrippinSober you always get such cool angles or you walking, almost 360 degrees. down low from feet. you keep it interesting. a different perspective of the trail. different from others. And your B roll, you walking towards and away from camera. thats awesome. Have fun out there. PEACE.
It stopped working so that was the main reason but multiple smaller batteries are good so if one goes down they don’t all go down, they weight a good bit less. I’m pretty sure 3 10000 Nitecore weight less than that one Anker. And the Anker was fast charging, which kind of justifies some of this but once it broke so fast I decided to go Nitecore and not worry about the fast charging. 3 hours to charge the Nitecore 10,000’s
I’m not sure I’ll see if I can find it on the tag. My buddy just gave me these and I’m sure he’s had them for about five years now. They seem to be made much better than the ones I was using. Especially around the inner ankles where they are extra durable.
@ lol I understand been watching I start my triple crown attempt end of February so I was asking maybe we could do a collab video if your ok with we’re still on trail
😂 No! He's coming out west for new adventures. I was thinking about you a couple of days ago, Cptn Jack, as I am roadtripping thru the American Southwest. Crazy mind-blowing landscape and culture. If you ever get the opportunity to slow travel through it, you should.
Come on Captain, you got to weigh it for us, some people will match your gear and it would nice to know the weight. I understand that food, water will change that number, but at least people will have a ball park figure.
It was heavy when he was in Maine so I bet it is really heavy with winter gear. He let me try his backpack when I bumped into him on trail, which is how I know how heavy it was!
Interesting for sure
Really enjoying your sobo trek. Your filming style is excellent! Stay warm and safe, Cap!

That was pretty interesting. Also pretty amazing what all fits into that pack.
I actually have "wool baselayer" on my to-do list this week.
You could pack your backpack blindfolded! Good gear. Stay warm.
Simply amazing, packing all that into a small area👀💯
Well organized hiking pack and looks like it is serving you well . Thanks for sharing. Safe hiking ❤

Excellent content. Wink Wink.
Thanks, Captain Jack going through your equipment your winter equipment what do you think your pack weighs???
Not sure. Looking for a scale to see.
Great rundown awesome videos. Can you list out your video equipment, phone, tripod, selfie stick? Stay warm out there.

Curious, What is your pack weight? Thanks for showing us. stay safe 🥾🥾😊😊
Not sure
Amazed you fit all that stuff in there. How many days worth of chow do you normally carry?
Three is ideal but lately I’ve only been rolling with one or two because of so much Trail Magic.
@ I can’t argue with that!
Very nice! Huge difference from your gear list before you started the trail. Are you planning to complete the Yo Yo before the end of the year?
Nah. I really slowed down after the hurricane hit the southern states and decided not to worry about the dates
@ That makes sense. Best of luck as you continue to move forward. Thanks for all the great videos. It has been an epic journey to follow.
Cpt Jack…Any idea what the base weight (- food/water) is with the winter pack?
Absolutely no clue. If I come across a scale I’d like to see.
I’d like to know the weight also.
Anyone know why he switched to the nitcore batteries from the anker one

Are the Mountain Hardware pants the Threshold or Ozonic model?

when do you think youll hit springer and are you going back up to katahdin?
Not sure on Springer and it’ll be a while before I make it to katahdin again. There and back is enough for a while.

I’m looking for a scale!
How much does your pack weigh fully loaded?
It was heavy when he was in Maine so I bet it is really heavy with winter gear. He let me try his backpack when I bumped into him on trail, which is how I know how heavy it was!
I’m really not sure. Looking for a hanging scale to get an accurate weight.
@@TrippinSober I have a hanging scale at the farm if you are interested and anywhere near the Shenandoah's. We can certainly feed and water ya!
