RELIABILITY UPDATE!! Yesterday I took the bike back to the dealer for investigation as 3 times now the speedo has changed from mph to kph whilst riding and now the odometer and trip read as --------- only. However, yesterday the bike died 3 times in a 2 mile journey (I always start and idle for 7-8 mins before I leave home); as in no power, if I released the clutch, it would not bump start, just lock up the back wheel. I had to stop, switch ignition off, then on again and it started, then spluttered for the first few hundred yards. I have to take the in Monday for them to check out properly as they don't know right now..BUT they do not have a diagnostics machine for that bike and apparently neither does the supplier! Will keep you all posted on the progress!
Further update. New speedo fiited under warranty, took literally 5 minutes to fit. All good now! Bike has not died again. Reading other forums, could have been an issue with the side stand cutoff sensor.
Hi, thank you for stopping by and commenting. The stripes are vinyl and I felt a bit tacky. If you look here: ruclips.net/video/f0c1n5LJ1Hw/видео.html you can see I changed them, made them myself from kitchen Fablon links in the description of that video. Thank you, Mark
I really feel like buying this motorcycle when im 18, im 17 years right now, and i have to say this review gave me a lot of information, im on vacation right now and this is where i saw it for the first time, not even realizing that it was a 125, the only thing i realized when i saw it that it was way cooler than the ktm duke 125 that i was feeling like buying before this one, so thanks a lot for the amazing review, this review is the best out there up to this point.
Motors for the Masses i am pretty sure i will, and its good that you reply to all your comments this quickly, good luck with your channel, this wont be the last time that im checking it out :)
I’m 43, and been riding for four years now. Like you I’m still on a 125, albeit I have two of them....2012 ktm duke and same year aprilia rs4.....same engine that is in your bike. I bought the aprilia with a 166cc malossi big bore kit, quickshifter and re mapping thingymebob.im on the west coast of Scotland, and there’s nothing but twisties round here. So for that and other various reasons, I still find myself on a 125. I have been told by a few bigger bike riders that a bigger bike is easier to ride than a my 125. anyhoo, suns out today, I’m gonna prep my chain and hit the road.....happy riding all....stay safe.
Last year ( autum season ) iv'e bought an 2019 model, the first things iv'e changed was the grips in black ( cause brown ones seems to be a bit worn out ) and the mirriors iv'e found from a Chineese dealer for around 30 dollars with such good quality went perfectly in the endbars! All in all, such an amazing motobike but people are still not confident with these bikes mainly build in China ( even if the brand and conception are italian ) iv'e been doing videos since and even some bikers that iv'e met have been curious about my little beast ^_^
Great video, I just got my a1 license and I'm realy considering it! The design is what really catches me since I don't really like the look of sportbikes etc, which sort of reminds me of scooters.. Cheers.

That is what made me buy it. The looks! It was awesome compared to the other which were just another superbike shape, or just another supermoto shape, or just another naked bike shape....enjoy!
So beautiful...By the way, I own a Derbi Mulhacen 125, and I'm pretty sure that apart from the engine, they also share the same frame and other parts of course. Great review!!!
That bike is a Beauty, she’s stunning, jaw dropping And looks like a 600/650cc bike However to me that sound lets it down. The bullit hero’s sound with this bike would make it irresistible
I loved all your video espically the once with cafe bikes. Been looking for cafe bike all i find was chinese model like sinis and ajs. Was looking to buy cafe bike now i can see more cafe bikes in your video. Thnks much
These are Chinese bikes too, even mine, but my one uses a Piaggio engine (same as Aprilia and Derbi). Chinese bikes shipped to Europe and beyond are not the crap they used to be; so much better reliable quality now.
Had mine since May 22 Bought it because of this review and its been Brill so far,29 miles on it when I got it for a bargain 2gs a few dents in tank from the lad dropping it but worth every penny, just need to address the dents lol 😆
Not sure to be honest. I am assuming cost is the reason why, or that the speed does not warrant ABS. Despite the L plate, I have been riding bikes for 27 years...just never did my test as never needed to...until now lol
I'm only just getting into bikes, (midlife crisis in full swing now), interesting comments you make about the L plates. Once you have your CBT how long and how much does it cost to progress to a full unrestricted license in the UK?
Hi, to get through your Mod1 (cone practical test); Mod2 (Road test) and Theory, including training/instructor accompanying is around £500 and usually takes as long as the theory/test dates take to come through which varies but can be a 2 month wait. However, CBT's last 2 years and can be retaken.
Retro and modern? Try XSR bikes from Yamaha. Anyhow, I wanted to say some uncharitable comments about this 'Hipster', but I warmed to it by the end. Probably would consider this if I didn't have my big bike licence. Interesting review.
I think the XSR is more of a naked sports bike to be honest. I certainly believe something can be retro and modern at the same time. Retro lines in a modern format. My Mustang is the same. A modern car but similar late 60's/early 70's influence.
I had an issue insuring it here in the UK as it was not showing on many insurance systems. 2 insurance Brokers kept calling it a Francis Barnett, even when I pointed out it was an Italian bike and Francis Barnett is British. I went with Bikesure in the end which is part of the Adrian Flux group...which all my cars are insured with.
Motors for the Masses ...Good stuff. If I were FB, I would be applying to the industry to get an ABI code for the bike., that's for sure. It's an unknown on the wider comparison websites and companies like Bennetts won't touch it either.
Had mine for just over a year, and had no issues. Until this morning. Rear brake has stopped working, and was in my way home from work and it just died. No electrics or anything. Pulled over and started immediately. Fuck knows what's up with it.
Hi, thanks for the review. Keen to buy one of these but I'm curious as to the availability of compatable parts should anything ever need fixing/replacing. Are you able to shed any light on this please,
Question and the only concern I have about the bike-can I change the handlebar to get rid of the sporty feel and get even more upright position?-not a big fun of having handlebar so low, like the motorcycle though. It would involve changing all the front cables too, wouldn't it?
In regards to the "no gear" symbol on the dial, I think that the N that was at the top indicated the bike being in neutral, is this to tell you you're in neutral only? Or does it change when you change gears? Thank you!
Hello mate, thanks for the great review. I’m looking at purchasing one and I’m used to a scooter meaning I don’t need to worry about storage space. Is it possible to put some vintage side saddle bags on these? Also where do you normally keep your chain and lock whilst riding? Do you lock up your helmet too? Thanks In advance
Hi, I rarely use this bike now but I used to carry a lock in a backpack...heavy but worth it so save it getting nicked. Might be better to get an alarm disc lock, then a smaller chain that is light to carry also. Helmets, I have always carried with me. Saddle bags would work as long as the backs were stiff, you can get ones that go over the seat, then also velcro under the seat between the seat and frame.
Hi! First of all, great review... High quality content... I'd like to ask some questions... I'm about to buy my first 125cc and I really can't decide between the mondial hps and the honda cb125f... So, about the mondial... Is it a reliable motorcycle? Are the parts common? Btw I live in italy at about 10 miles from the mondial company...
I think you have answered your own question regarding parts. The engine is Piaggio, same as the Aprilia and Derbi so I don't forsee issues there. Of course Honda CBR is good but a very different style of bike. I think it is too early to decide reliability, although again when researching I have not read or seen an bad reviews and nothing mentioning poor reliability. I think it comes more down to what style you prefer.
I imagined so... Without any doubts I prefer a retro cafè racer - scrambler... I asked you about reliability because I plan on using the bike at least 400-500 kilometers a month for as long as possible... Thanks for your time
Hi man, thank for your review (and your other vids about the hps)! The googles-mask combo you're sporting here looks awesome, I've found the same one online but before I buy I was wondering, would you say it's possible to wear sunglasses underneath the goggles? Please forgive my newbie question, I'm new in the field. Cheers!
I´m in the process of deciding between BN 125, TnT 125 and the HPS 125 (old guy, not enough money for big bike), and your reviews are really helpful! Although the looks of the mondial did´nt create a tingling sensation in me when i first laid eyes upon it, i think it´s growing on me! You don´t happen to have a deep reviewed planned for the two benellis? Or maybe you could give some strong opinions about them? (as if arriving on your HPS for a benelli special did´nt count :p)
hi mate... loved the video.. apt and appropriate ...i am a PhD student in GLASGOW and am fascinated with the MONDIAL HPS125 ... I am interested to know regarding the services for this bike and reliability of the maintenance.. since you are the only one I know owning the Mondial I would be more than happy to receive a feedback regarding the bike ownership..looking forward for your reply..
At 6:05 you’re starting to say ‘it is missing a gear indicator’ but you see which gear you are at, right? When you kickstart, you see a label saying GEAR and a spot for the number. Correct?
No, this bike and others that use digital dashes have the same issue. The new Mash for example. They use these dashes for many bikes, some have a gear indicator, some don't but all use the same dash; so it is there on the dash, just not available on the actual bike.
Hi, I know the hps125 only has a 9ltr tank, but what the typical mileage you get out of that? Really want this bike but also considering a Brixton BX 125 as it just feels so good to sit on. That has a 14ltr tank so probably far greater range.
I get around 100 miles on a tank and do not run it dry. It is a small tank but I guess it depends what kind of riding you are doing, town, cruising, commuting?
Wondered if you planned to take your test .. I'm sure you know that riding any 125 is a world away from larger capacity machines and in honesty don't give a true representation of what motorcycling has to offer, especially on the road. ( No disrespect to 125 owners )
You are right and yes I will...just not in a hurry. With reviewing, day job, taking my '06 Mustang to meets and needing to start my '71 Mustang project....time is a struggle; but I will get it done!!
Hi buddy, i am contacting you because i have the possibility of buying a 2019 model as well. Have you had any issues with yours and i have heard a bit of bad press about it?
The helmet is a Viper Chequered, from 'AR Motorcycles', or online £55 and the face mask is also Viper, £20. Very well priced I feel and decent quality. However, due to different padding and helmets, I am a 58-59 typically but needed the XL (61) in this helmet, so always good to try it on rather than buy without trying.
Hi! From India. Recently heard that this bike is going to be launched here. Is it reliable? Design looks cool but I think capacity of the engine is on the downside. India is growing with large capacity bikes these years. Can we expect 200 or 250cc bikes in India? Also how much kilometres we can cover with this 125cc bike. I prefer longer rides most of the times. Any official brochure available for this variant?
Yes, but keep an eye on the rear brake pedal, in case it drops out its pressure. A common issue is when starting from cold, first rev it cuts out, then starts up and runs ok.
@@motorsforthemasses Thanks mate luv the vids It's either the hps or the zontes lol can't decide but I like the thought that same as me u have had loads of 125s like myself and u wad very happy with your hos so u sold it to me lol 😆 Take care and thank u for getting back to me
No there isn't. These clocks are used on various bikes so the dash has the feature for a gear indicator but the early bikes do not have gear indicator sensors on them.
I bought it new, did 3500 miles on it, weigh 100kg and had 78 out of it. My son now has it, weighs a lot less than me and has had 85 (on a private track blah blah)
Thank you for the quick reply. I just purchased this bike yesterday, haven't tried on the road yet.will check tomorrow if no rain.and one more question, I test rode the bike today for max 2 minutes I noticed that exhaust pipe on the front is super hot very fast. is it normal? Thank you.
The exhaust on the front by the engine does get hot and makes the lovely oily colour. Just keep an eye on it and pop it back to the dealer if you are worried
so I have watched your video, I ordered my mondial 125 last month , and will get it delivered tomorrow. but Im confused about the speed and horse power. on paper it states 13 hp and top speed 99 km an hour. 1nd I have seen others telling they got 140 out of it. it's the same engine as the Aprilia RS4 125 and derby. how fast does yours go and how many horse power on paper ? thx for answering my question. just want to know if line is gonna be faulty or I bought the wrong bike . good video btw thx
Hi, re: BHP I think the dealers make it up a lot of the time to make the bike sound more desirable. I have also noticed different countries produce different figures in their brochures. One Spanish one said the tank held 14 litres....but it is only 9. Generally the bike has between 13-15 in brochures but it is around 13.8 I believe. As for speed (on a private track blah blah) I have so far hit 76 but my bike has still done less than 250 miles and has not been in for its first service / after sale recheck yet. I am expecting it will hit 80 or more on a good day. Average, up hill down hill, head wind, cross wind, it does get to 67 and hold it easily. 6th gear is like an overdrive holding gear as it revs high in 1st - 5th and pulls pretty well. Hope this helps.
Hey I have owned this bike for about 4 months now had a few minor issues nothing major I am having issues thoe changing the kilometres back to mph if anyone can help ?
Motors for the Masses I have played around with the button but I have not tried to keep hold of it while turning on and off so I’ll give it a try Thankyou for the reply
Motors for the Masses yeah i thought so. I Will go with a yamaha XV 535 as my starter. It is A2 legal and it has 46 HP! Also a 500 cc engine. Might suit me better with a bigger bike
Really nice looking bike. If I was a 125 rider I'd be a little jealous of the looks of it, a real head turner.
every 125 scooter driver laughs about this wannabe "bike"...hahahahah

To be fair I expected more issues, especially as the bike is new onto the market.
Hello.
One question: Are the stripes painted on or are they vinyls?
btw: Your videos are pretty good! Keep going!
Hi, thank you for stopping by and commenting. The stripes are vinyl and I felt a bit tacky. If you look here:

Regards the L plates, it's totally true about car drivers. They will assume you are 16yrs old and that they must overtake you as dangerously as possible after tailgating you at the current speed limit for 15 minutes.

TobotronPrime thats because they are wankers

What an excellent review. Thanks!
Its a really cool looking bike but the 2017 duke looks great too...it would be the duke for me
Jose Castro love the Duke but the RC Is the bike I love
Great video. How does it compare to the Bullit spirit and the Hero? Would be nice if you could do a full review on the spirit.
Is it a completely different ride to the Hero and spirit. I would say for me it feels better and is easier to ride than both of the other 2.
Super Video and super motorcycle!
Thank you

Hi, I know the hps125 only has a 9ltr tank, but what the typical mileage you get out of that? Really want this bike but also considering a Brixton BX 125 as it just feels so good to sit on. That has a 14ltr tank so probably far greater range.
I get around 100 miles on a tank and do not run it dry. It is a small tank but I guess it depends what kind of riding you are doing, town, cruising, commuting?
Ride outs in the country was the intention, but 100 miles may be too short and always looking at fuel gauge!
Is it something you can live with to have this bike? The Brixton is more like the Mash Black 7
Not sure if I could live with 100 Mike range to be honest. Needs some serious thought.
Any opinion on the Brixton or the mash?
Thanks!
We did review the Mash and some others (Bullit and Ace), have a look here: ruclips.net/video/j1GrI_Yo01I/видео.html
Hi. Are you going to be reviewing the 2021 version? I've got the 2019 version and I love it and I'm thinking of upgrading
Hi buddy, i am contacting you because i have the possibility of buying a 2019 model as well. Have you had any issues with yours and i have heard a bit of bad press about it?
That sound👌😍
Hi there
Could I ask what your helmet set up is at 2:22 😊
Cheers 👍
Lexmoto tempest review please guys!
Does the bike have any storage compartments, to keep chains etc, thanks!
No, sorry, unless you remove the air filter lol
Sorry, but I have annother question :3
Where did you get that cool helmet?
Thanks in advance
The helmet is a Viper Chequered, from 'AR Motorcycles', or online £55 and the face mask is also Viper, £20. Very well priced I feel and decent quality. However, due to different padding and helmets, I am a 58-59 typically but needed the XL (61) in this helmet, so always good to try it on rather than buy without trying.
Thanks! It really looks cool and fits the bike
Thank you
Great reviews btw! Seriously considering this, who did you get it insured through? Cheers!
did you buy it? I'm considering it...
@@omedome2787 no, I ended up getting a Duke 390 then traded up to a 790!
Very good video! Greetings from Germany!
great video you made!
I like that helmet of yours. Could you please give a link to it? Thanks in advance. Great video btw.
You can find it no problem if you google 'Viper Chequered' and 'Viper open face mask'
nice to see ,let me know ex factory price ?
Hi!
Can you pls tell me in which year or which date the bike is available for sale in india?
They were testing them in India a year ago but they haven't said much since so it seems at the moment, no official date has been given.
September 2018....means this month only...m looking for price in india.... anyone knows?????
It would be definitely priced at 2.5 lakh +
Hi there,
I'm in the process of buying a mondial 2020 would you recommend one ?
Yes, but keep an eye on the rear brake pedal, in case it drops out its pressure. A common issue is when starting from cold, first rev it cuts out, then starts up and runs ok.
@@motorsforthemasses Thanks mate luv the vids
It's either the hps or the zontes lol can't decide but I like the thought that same as me u have had loads of 125s like myself and u wad very happy with your hos so u sold it to me lol 😆
Take care and thank u for getting back to me
U write!!!! Such an amazing thing!!! So cooooooooool!!!
Love The Bike , love The Review
What was The Top Speed you got ?
i think its 75 Miles per hour or 110 kilometers per hour
It appears there is indeed a gear indicator when you start up the bike at around 06:06.
No there isn't. These clocks are used on various bikes so the dash has the feature for a gear indicator but the early bikes do not have gear indicator sensors on them.
very good review Think I am going to get one whats the top end
I bought it new, did 3500 miles on it, weigh 100kg and had 78 out of it. My son now has it, weighs a lot less than me and has had 85 (on a private track blah blah)
Can it ride at 120kmh/75mph for a long time? And whats its 0-100kmh/0-60mph?
75mph for long periods is not recommended. I will give a 0-60 in the next video...but that does depend on wind, road and rider weight
The Clock looks like a wheel trim ;-)
lol
How do you put a box or saddle bags on it?
why did you indicate around a bend??
hello....whatt'is better for you? Bullit hero or mondial hps?
Very different riding style...for me Mondial!
thanks
Does that exhaust not get too hot near your legs?
No, zero heat. The heat shield is excellent
Nice bike, top video !!!!!! well done!!!! +1 subscriber love your chanel!!!!!!!!
Cool lid may i ask what make that is?
I've forgotten....it has been turned into my madmax helmet now. Not sure the still make it. Viper RS-05 chequered...just remembered.
@@motorsforthemasses thank you. Really enjoying your work. Looks like there is a real small capacity bike interest going on.
I have a Kreidler Dice CR 125
Ah nice, a ready made Cafe Racer. Both green and orange, great colours. Love that!!
I love the look of these bikes, but ... they sound... like always pushed to the max.
I agree. These 125's are usually high revving so are designed that way and to be fair need to be to get anywhere lol
Is it really built in China ? I read an article saying it was built in Italy :s
Designed in Italy, then assembled in China
Thanks for the answer ;) Are you still happy with it after 6 months ?
VERY happy...although I do not have it anymore. I gave it to my son as we are building a '78 400 Cafe scrambler now (see videos).
Hi, how do I change the time on display? and temperature gauge flash all the time is it normal? Thank you.
Have you tried to push and hold the button on the side of the dash? Temp gauge often flashes when cold. Does it stop when it warms up?
Thank you for the quick reply. I just purchased this bike yesterday, haven't tried on the road yet.will check tomorrow if no rain.and one more question, I test rode the bike today for max 2 minutes I noticed that exhaust pipe on the front is super hot very fast. is it normal? Thank you.
The exhaust on the front by the engine does get hot and makes the lovely oily colour. Just keep an eye on it and pop it back to the dealer if you are worried
What will be the price of it ?
so I have watched your video, I ordered my mondial 125 last month , and will get it delivered tomorrow. but Im confused about the speed and horse power. on paper it states 13 hp and top speed 99 km an hour.
Max speed I got is about 110km/h. I am bit disappinted with that... But its enough for curved roads, and to ride without rush.
PD: 100km/h == 69mph
6.7 litres for 60 miles? So this only gets around 45mpg???
Hey I have owned this bike for about 4 months now had a few minor issues nothing major I am having issues thoe changing the kilometres back to mph if anyone can help ?
Have you tried holding the button on the side of the dash whilst turning the ignition off and on?
Motors for the Masses I have played around with the button but I have not tried to keep hold of it while turning on and off so I’ll give it a try Thankyou for the reply
Nice review
3/4 of 9 liters => 60 miles
So about 9 miles per liter? Is my math correct? That not very good for a 125 bike.
isn't the exhaust very hot, so near to your leg?
No, the guards work very well. No heat issues at all.
the bullit seems faster than shooting, right?
faster than shooting?
more faster
Mondial is faster
Amigo tu moto esta genial
Muchas gracias
What is the mileage of this bike????
What jacket are you wearing?
Hi, It is called a Viper Rider Speedster59
I am 6 foot 2, 85 kilos. Am i too tall/Big for this bike? I need to know😞😞
Possibly too big, You need to get someone to take a photo of you on it to be certain.
Motors for the Masses yeah i thought so. I Will go with a yamaha XV 535 as my starter. It is A2 legal and it has 46 HP! Also a 500 cc engine. Might suit me better with a bigger bike
@@fobabett1 fair enough....but they are quite slow. Check out the Benelli 502c review we just did. That is A2 also
Is it reliable? And easy and resonably cheap to mentain?
btw this is what I mean when I talk to people about good reviews! :3
Awesome job on this vid. Keep up the good work mate! (Sorry for the large number of comments)
Hi, it seems good so far...will let you know further down the road. My first service is at 350km and is £85 GBP.....so....not sure about that one!
HAHA, no problem...and thank you!!
Motors for the Masses Ok, thanks for replying. Really appreciate it! Have a nice evening guys.
offroad yay or ney? i mean its a scrambler
How expensive is it? and where can I buy it?!
Chris D-Lack £3399
what is the height of a motorcyclist?
Can I ride it on the motorway (highway) too?
In the UK, yes, unless you have an L-plate. It will sit happily at 65mph (105 kph) and on a good day reach 75+ (120 kph)
Motors for the Masses Thanks! Greetings from Germany!
Greeting to you too. Hope you enjoy it!
