    Really nice looking bike. If I was a 125 rider I'd be a little jealous of the looks of it, a real head turner.

    RELIABILITY UPDATE!! Yesterday I took the bike back to the dealer for investigation as 3 times now the speedo has changed from mph to kph whilst riding and now the odometer and trip read as --------- only. However, yesterday the bike died 3 times in a 2 mile journey (I always start and idle for 7-8 mins before I leave home); as in no power, if I released the clutch, it would not bump start, just lock up the back wheel. I had to stop, switch ignition off, then on again and it started, then spluttered for the first few hundred yards. I have to take the in Monday for them to check out properly as they don't know right now..BUT they do not have a diagnostics machine for that bike and apparently neither does the supplier! Will keep you all posted on the progress!

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  7 лет назад +5

      Further update. New speedo fiited under warranty, took literally 5 minutes to fit. All good now! Bike has not died again. Reading other forums, could have been an issue with the side stand cutoff sensor.

      Hello.
      One question: Are the stripes painted on or are they vinyls?
      btw: Your videos are pretty good! Keep going!

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  7 лет назад

      Hi, thank you for stopping by and commenting. The stripes are vinyl and I felt a bit tacky. If you look here:
      ruclips.net/video/f0c1n5LJ1Hw/видео.html
      you can see I changed them, made them myself from kitchen Fablon links in the description of that video.
      Thank you, Mark

    I really feel like buying this motorcycle when im 18, im 17 years right now, and i have to say this review gave me a lot of information, im on vacation right now and this is where i saw it for the first time, not even realizing that it was a 125, the only thing i realized when i saw it that it was way cooler than the ktm duke 125 that i was feeling like buying before this one, so thanks a lot for the amazing review, this review is the best out there up to this point.

    I’m 43, and been riding for four years now. Like you I’m still on a 125, albeit I have two of them....2012 ktm duke and same year aprilia rs4.....same engine that is in your bike. I bought the aprilia with a 166cc malossi big bore kit,quickshifter and re mapping thingymebob.im on the west coast of Scotland, and there’s nothing but twisties round here. So for that and other various reasons, I still find myself on a 125. I have been told by a few bigger bike riders that a bigger bike is easier to ride than a my 125. anyhoo, suns out today, I’m gonna prep my chain and hit the road.....happy riding all....stay safe.

    Last year ( autum season ) iv'e bought an 2019 model, the first things iv'e changed was the grips in black ( cause brown ones seems to be a bit worn out ) and the mirriors iv'e found from a Chineese dealer for around 30 dollars with such good quality went perfectly in the endbars!
    All in all, such an amazing motobike but people are still not confident with these bikes mainly build in China ( even if the brand and conception are italian ) iv'e been doing videos since and even some bikers that iv'e met have been curious about my little beast ^_^

    Regards the L plates, it's totally true about car drivers. They will assume you are 16yrs old and that they must overtake you as dangerously as possible after tailgating you at the current speed limit for 15 minutes.
    Take them off and they don't even think about it. It looks like a full size bike and no right minded car driver wants to annoy what they now perceive as a bad ass biker unessesarily 😉

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  7 лет назад

      Not sure to be honest. I am assuming cost is the reason why, or that the speed does not warrant ABS. Despite the L plate, I have been riding bikes for 27 years...just never did my test as never needed to...until now lol

  • @Unexplained_Bacon
    @Unexplained_Bacon 6 лет назад +2

    I'm only just getting into bikes, (midlife crisis in full swing now), interesting comments you make about the L plates. Once you have your CBT how long and how much does it cost to progress to a full unrestricted license in the UK?

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  6 лет назад +1

      Hi, to get through your Mod1 (cone practical test); Mod2 (Road test) and Theory, including training/instructor accompanying is around £500 and usually takes as long as the theory/test dates take to come through which varies but can be a 2 month wait. However, CBT's last 2 years and can be retaken.

    Retro and modern? Try XSR bikes from Yamaha.
    Anyhow, I wanted to say some uncharitable comments about this 'Hipster', but I warmed to it by the end.
    Probably would consider this if I didn't have my big bike licence.
    Interesting review.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  7 лет назад

      I think the XSR is more of a naked sports bike to be honest. I certainly believe something can be retro and modern at the same time. Retro lines in a modern format. My Mustang is the same. A modern car but similar late 60's/early 70's influence.

  • @liammcloughlin

    Very good review. I believe there is some difficulty insuring the HPS, due to the issue it doesn't have an ABI code.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  7 лет назад +1

      I had an issue insuring it here in the UK as it was not showing on many insurance systems. 2 insurance Brokers kept calling it a Francis Barnett, even when I pointed out it was an Italian bike and Francis Barnett is British. I went with Bikesure in the end which is part of the Adrian Flux group...which all my cars are insured with.

    • @liammcloughlin
      @liammcloughlin 7 лет назад

      Motors for the Masses ...Good stuff. If I were FB, I would be applying to the industry to get an ABI code for the bike., that's for sure. It's an unknown on the wider comparison websites and companies like Bennetts won't touch it either.

    Hello mate, thanks for the great review. I’m looking at purchasing one and I’m used to a scooter meaning I don’t need to worry about storage space. Is it possible to put some vintage side saddle bags on these? Also where do you normally keep your chain and lock whilst riding? Do you lock up your helmet too? Thanks In advance

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  2 года назад +2

      Hi, I rarely use this bike now but I used to carry a lock in a backpack...heavy but worth it so save it getting nicked. Might be better to get an alarm disc lock, then a smaller chain that is light to carry also. Helmets, I have always carried with me. Saddle bags would work as long as the backs were stiff, you can get ones that go over the seat, then also velcro under the seat between the seat and frame.

    Hi! First of all, great review... High quality content... I'd like to ask some questions... I'm about to buy my first 125cc and I really can't decide between the mondial hps and the honda cb125f... So, about the mondial... Is it a reliable motorcycle? Are the parts common? Btw I live in italy at about 10 miles from the mondial company...

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  7 лет назад +2

      I think you have answered your own question regarding parts. The engine is Piaggio, same as the Aprilia and Derbi so I don't forsee issues there. Of course Honda CBR is good but a very different style of bike. I think it is too early to decide reliability, although again when researching I have not read or seen an bad reviews and nothing mentioning poor reliability. I think it comes more down to what style you prefer.

    • @Taylor-ou7xp
      @Taylor-ou7xp 7 лет назад +1

      I imagined so... Without any doubts I prefer a retro cafè racer - scrambler... I asked you about reliability because I plan on using the bike at least 400-500 kilometers a month for as long as possible... Thanks for your time

    At 6:05 you’re starting to say ‘it is missing a gear indicator’ but you see which gear you are at, right? When you kickstart, you see a label saying GEAR and a spot for the number. Correct?

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  5 лет назад +1

      No, this bike and others that use digital dashes have the same issue. The new Mash for example. They use these dashes for many bikes, some have a gear indicator, some don't but all use the same dash; so it is there on the dash, just not available on the actual bike.

    Hi, I know the hps125 only has a 9ltr tank, but what the typical mileage you get out of that? Really want this bike but also considering a Brixton BX 125 as it just feels so good to sit on. That has a 14ltr tank so probably far greater range.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  7 лет назад +1

      The helmet is a Viper Chequered, from 'AR Motorcycles', or online £55 and the face mask is also Viper, £20. Very well priced I feel and decent quality. However, due to different padding and helmets, I am a 58-59 typically but needed the XL (61) in this helmet, so always good to try it on rather than buy without trying.

    Hi! From India. Recently heard that this bike is going to be launched here. Is it reliable? Design looks cool but I think capacity of the engine is on the downside. India is growing with large capacity bikes these years. Can we expect 200 or 250cc bikes in India? Also how much kilometres we can cover with this 125cc bike. I prefer longer rides most of the times. Any official brochure available for this variant?

    • @motorsforthemasses

      Yes, but keep an eye on the rear brake pedal, in case it drops out its pressure. A common issue is when starting from cold, first rev it cuts out, then starts up and runs ok.

      No there isn't. These clocks are used on various bikes so the dash has the feature for a gear indicator but the early bikes do not have gear indicator sensors on them.

    so I have watched your video, I ordered my mondial 125 last month , and will get it delivered tomorrow. but Im confused about the speed and horse power. on paper it states 13 hp and top speed 99 km an hour. 1nd I have seen others telling they got 140 out of it. it's the same engine as the Aprilia RS4 125 and derby. how fast does yours go and how many horse power on paper ? thx for answering my question. just want to know if line is gonna be faulty or I bought the wrong bike . good video btw thx

      Hi, re: BHP I think the dealers make it up a lot of the time to make the bike sound more desirable. I have also noticed different countries produce different figures in their brochures. One Spanish one said the tank held 14 litres....but it is only 9. Generally the bike has between 13-15 in brochures but it is around 13.8 I believe. As for speed (on a private track blah blah) I have so far hit 76 but my bike has still done less than 250 miles and has not been in for its first service / after sale recheck yet. I am expecting it will hit 80 or more on a good day. Average, up hill down hill, head wind, cross wind, it does get to 67 and hold it easily. 6th gear is like an overdrive holding gear as it revs high in 1st - 5th and pulls pretty well. Hope this helps.

    • @clakoclakson
      @clakoclakson 7 лет назад +1

      Max speed I got is about 110km/h. I am bit disappinted with that... But its enough for curved roads, and to ride without rush.
      PD: 100km/h == 69mph
