I fixed the two BIGGEST problems with my $400 Yamaha Banshee! Is it faster now?

- This weekend I'm replacing the back tires and handlebar grips on my Yamaha Banshee 350 that I got for $400 last year. A four wheeler project like this is one of my favorite things to work on, and taking a super fast quad for a ride at the end of the day makes it all worth it! After making these repairs, it's more fun to get it out and ride it, and it's a blast!
Welcome to Garage Story!
I'm in the business of hunting up old lawn mowers and other small machines, and either parting them out, or fixing them up and selling them for profit. Come along for the ride with my weekly vlogs, and how-to videos.

Definitely get the front plastics work on the front tire and finish it up! Sand dunes or some long trail rides would be cool!!!
When I put grips on, I use a little bit of aerosol glass cleaner. Goes on easy. After they're on, I let them dry and wire them up good and tight. 👌
Cool!
What exactly does wiring them up mean?
@@garagestory Safety wire around the grips to ensure they never come loose or slip off.
Check the bearings on front wheels (just like a car, jack it up and check for up/down and side/side play). You gotta take it somewhere and really let it rip. Once you get into 3rd, 4th, 5th and power band kicks in, it is incredible! I have a Banshee. Gotta love a 2-stroke.
Good idea!
Yeah, I’d like to take it to the sand dunes… we’ll see! Maybe later this year.
Cool machines.
Fix the front end first . It look very unsafe. Safety equipment is a very good idea too . Ride it on some trails and see how it handles .
Where do you sell your mowers
Usually on market place.
It should not be hard to paint those rims gold take those grips and soak them in hot water and then spray the handle bars with some silicone that will work on getting the grips to side on
Good to know for the grips!
I actually like the silver better than the gold. But I’m not sure how well paint would stick to them
@@garagestory the thing is rough up the rims and try some rust oleum self etching primer to make the gold paint stick to the metal
Would you sell it?
No, I like it too much!
@@garagestory I don't blame you. I have a 2021 250FX dirtbike with 9 hrs. I'm thinking about trading for one. All my buddies have quads so I'm thinking about it. Go rip some dunes on that thing.
Man, that sounds like a really nice bike! I’ve never ridden anything like that before.
@@garagestory if you are interested in a possible trade let me know. I have receipts for the bike and all aftermarket parts. Probably a 7500 dollar bike. I tried putting a picture on her but couldn't figure it out
Sale it to me I’m looking for one
Brain box???…. Ur just askin for a life u DONT WANT when somebody has to wipe ur butt and u eat/drink through a tube/straw! A leyatt neck brace is must and worth every penny. I like the1st vs 2nd gen models because of the many adjustments u can install to more custom fit but make sure it comes with the straps. Many people wear them w/out thhe straps but I feel more confident and vERY comfortable u don’t even kno it’s on. Banshees and blasters is what we run everywhere but the sand all our MOST pwoweful machines on alky and over ride trans FET full traction w triple buff extreme 7/8 tall straight or staggered paddle tires that range from 70-78inch of roll-out. A mild machine like u got I wilould look for 72 rol-out 8-10 paddle and add 2 teeth to ur rear sprocket to gear it (lower) because the stock gear 14-41 is too much (high) gear and will bog too much. Remember when gearing ur bike and u are putting more load on it you MUST add more fuel in the jetting. See where ur air screws are at and if they are at 2-2.5 turns out put them in to .5-1 turn before u take it to the sand! Believe me the sand is THE BEST TIME U wil EVER EXPERIENCE w/a banshee is in the SAnD. Silver Lake SAND DUNES is where we go and if u break something every body helps everyone w extra parts. The knowledge u will get by talking to people is AMAZING!! OUR group will be ther lABOR DAY so see u then!! Remember u got to richen up the machine when u present an environment that will put a load on it. Just think of YOU RUNNING IN BAREFOOT in the SAND AND UP huge steep HILLS and imagine ur machine weights 400lbs and you on it takes it up to 550-575lbs!! Some people will just put a 13 ⚙️ on the front and leave the rear alone so switching from sand to dirt is possibly easier to do. I do everything to achieve perfection so remember
Thanks for all the info! Definitely need to get a helmet. Hadn’t really thought about a neck brace (didn’t know that was a thing), so I’ll have to look into that.
Hey hi my name is Will I would love to buy this 4 wheeler and what’s your instagram name to follow
