I don't usually like to remark, but I really feel horrible for Tayari.
影片看來是Iriki 先出手的，Djeeco 不分青紅皂白，兩姐妹有衝突，不管對錯，9成都是壓制Tayrai ，還好暖男小J會陪著媽媽，Djeeco壓制Iriki 唯有為了食物⋯⋯😏
I almost cried because lately it is Djeeco and Iriki ganging up on Tayari. Maybe they have turned on her and hate her now? I have heard of animals turning against one in their group. Djeeco seems like he is jealous because he thinks he isnt getting enough food and he takes it out on Tayari for the last couple of months, but Iriki is the actual Foodie. Maybe the zoo keepers dont understand? He really hurt her this time. I noticed she has healing wounds on her back too. I hope she can remain there.
@diane8907 They don't hate and love like we do, at all. A troop is about hierarchy, provision, order, teamwork, and safety. It's not anything personal. I agree it looked like Iriki instigated the scuffle when Tayari entered with food, and D'Jeeco's reaction seemed overly aggressive to it. He usually just shakes his whole body to disperse his strength instead of inflicting wounds, but it looked very different this time.
However, we don't know what really happened. 😥
Also, it's unlikely she will be turned out from the troop. It's too small (in the wild, a healthy troop has many females to one Alpha!), Jabali is his offspring, and Tayari is the dominant female.
They'll be ok. ❤❤❤
@@urban_fox4658 Thank you for your comment. It’s very interesting and gives food for thought. I often project my humanness onto the gorillas even though I know better. So even though your comment makes sense academically, emotionally I can’t always see it that way. I think gorillas have the same emotions we do but since those emotions aren’t defined as we know them, gorillas handle the emotions differently perhaps because of your description of how the troop works. In any case I love watching their behavior, and commenting on what I see and interpret.

發現了嗎？小棉褲jabali 在第一時間跳起來保護媽媽，只是他太小了，小的爸爸一揮手他就滾了幾圈，但是還是努力地跑過去保護媽媽，可愛暖心的j寶貝，他給了 媽媽很好的安慰💖💖💖
Jabali真的是很棒的兒子，每一次Tayari被修理他都馬上去保護跟安慰媽媽。

果然Tayari沒完沒了的背傷不是沒來由的, 在我們沒有看到的時候, 晚上在室內想必類似的爭端沒有少發生過, 可以肯定的是幾乎都是Tayari被修理, 看得真有點心疼了! 原來這麼豪爽奔放的性格, 變得沈靜多了, 說好聽是成熟了, 但失去了她奔放的本性, 還是覺得十分可惜!
室內的沒看到，可能就別猜測了吧～ 我們也沒法證明啊～ 希望兩個媽媽都和樂下去，畢竟是一家人啊～

@@sandraaguirre1906 These aren't people. Female gorillas, and chimps, in the wild (I don't know enough about bonobos, orangutans, or monkeys) from grandmother to daughter, stay in the same troop until they find mates and then separate from their Alpha father to prevent inbreeding.
These wild females are often sisters, half-sisters, or cousins born within months- to-4 yrs of each other, and will be of mating age at the same time. So, those females often join with a neighboring Alpha to make a troop of their own, or join an existing troop.
It's how it goes, especially with a declining population of gorillas.
Tayari and Iriki are half-sisters, having the same mother, but different fathers.
One (very unlikely with shrinking forests and jungles) or more female gorillas (often SEVERAL more females in a troop of 12-30) with one Alpha male is how it is in the wild! (Btw, pack animals like wolves and lions do the same.)
This isn't "Sister Wives." It's nature. And it's the way non-human primates have lived since before we ever began bothering them or them needing to be in zoos for their safety and breeding.

@@urban_fox4658 no, they don't. Usually when a female gorilla reaches sexual maturity they leave their home group. If they would stay, their father would be mating with them. And that is a very rare occurrence in the wild. Most females leave the group by age 9 or 10. Putting siblings in the same group doesn't usually work well. Same thing with nene and ai. In reality, in the wild the males stay in the group longer than females.
Why on earth D'jeeco punishes Tayari again and again? I felt so sorry sad and bad for Tayari. It must be so frustrating for her.

Taya starts a lot of crap and she’s very jealous, I seen a video where she was even trying to take ringo out of iriki hands, like she was kidnapping baby ringo and iriki had to fight to keep him, Taya is a bully and you can see some of those qualities in little j when he plays with ringo

I wondered how Tayari got those wounds on her back, now we know 🙁 Poor Tayari it didn't look like she did anything wrong, and got a mauling. The two girls just don't get on now, still as we have seen before it will soon blow over and they go back as if nothing happened.

Iriki is the oldest and not bullied.
I do think this time Iriki started the scuffle. I think DJ thought it was Tayari that started that, because she normally does. Alot more than Iriki would. Either way, this is all normal gorilla behaviours and people need to understand that. Tayari even though she was disciplined by DJ she is ok. There was no lasting damage. That's normal in Tayari's eyes. They are Gorillas not a piece of china. It will be all forgot about it in no time.

They are sisters, I believe they love each other, but I don’t think the sisters really get along, I believe it has something to do about territory.( Not sure, I don’t know whats the inner workings of the family) D’Jeeco goes after Tayari because she usually is the one that instigate the conflict. 😔(I’m so glad that boys get along and they are protective of their mothers) ❤
Females in the wild aren't shown to be super aggressive toward each other; helping to raise and look after each other's offspring. There is always one Alpha silverback and can be many females, so I bet there are quite a few hormonal AND territorial (for the affection of the Alpha, maybe?) fights. Don't know why Tayari got the lashing, though it's difficult to see what really happened inside the cave.
@@urban_fox4658 Yes, no one knows what happened inside the cave or what was brewing before the fight. I’ve never seen both sisters in the cave alone with each other before. Maybe that triggered the fight, it could be anything. Wish the sisters had a better relationship

@@user-rz9hn9qx2k There is no such thing as "domestic violence" among a troop of non-human primates. There is only hierarchy, provision, order, and safety. And it all falls on the Silverback to maintain an orderly troop.
We don't know exactly what happened, what came before, or if Tayari had instigated something and Iriki just lost her mind this time. Lol Tayari is the more spirited and mischievous one, testing D'Jeeco and Iriki, 🥰 but her bond with D'Jeeco has always been undeniable, so we should be careful not to judge.

People always forget Tay and Iriki were sisters long before D'jeeco's mates. Everyone always blames Tay, but Iriki can be a powerhouse when she snaps. I love them both ❤
En verdad Iriki en ocasiones tiene comportamientos extraños, es la primera en atacar pero grita ofendida o se orina y hace caca. DJ también Tayari es la agredida pero él la atacará a ella. Ojalá un experto en gorilas pudiera dar su opinión sobre estos comportamientos, cuando Tayari inicio una pelea ella fue castigada y cuando no lo hizo también, esto no parece un comportamiento normal en gorilas.

This, this right here is why I dislike Iriki’s personality/ways,, yes Iriki was in the cave but Tayari was just walking in there and Iriki immediately attacked Tayari,, Then D’jeeco jumped on Tayari because of Iriki crying out but this was on Iriki not Tayari ! Iriki should have been the one being punished.. I have been watching this troop for over 2 years now and most of the time Iriki is the one causing the fighting but she lets out a cry and D’jeeco jumps Tayari!! Tayari doesn’t cry out like that to get Iriki jumped sometimes I wish she would. “This is my opinion just like everyone else’s has their own opinion’s.”
Я почему- то думала, наблюдая его с Тьяри, что он отдает ей предпочтение, значит все наоборот? А, может, тот чьи комментарии я читала, их перепутал, и то была Ирики?! Это было так необычно, сцена была у входа в пещеру, она кокетничала с ним, ложилась на спину, и ногой трогала его голову, а он ласково покусывал ее... В следующий раз они вместе с сыном играли в траве , он щекотал ее, она смеялась 🤣 , он целовал и ее, и сына. Может это была Ирики?!
@@vasilisaivanova8756I think Tayari is the 2nd and Iriki is the alpha, I think not for sure though. Maybe Iriki and Tayari was fighting from early that day and Iriki was like I told you 😂.. I have tried, and tried to understand why D’jeeco flip’s/goes back and forth between Tayari and Iriki I can’t,,,😊 but hopefully D’jeeco will one day tell me/us which one he made alpha.
Iriki is so short tempered and when Tayari angers her she will drive her into the ditch. She’s usually quiet but don’t mess with her space or her food.
@@aliceobryant618 yes Iriki usually keeps to herself, that’s why you see Ringo with Jabali and Tayari with d jeeco. I have seen Tayari start more times than not. Tayari is jealous and wants papa to herself. Once in a while you will see Iriki hanging with d jecco.

Ooh - It looks like D’Jeeco has restored peace to the family for now, but that was clearly a stressful moment for everyone. 😮 Tayari got a harsh scolding - it was so sweet how Jabali put his arm around her❣️Iriki also looks stressed and is plucking her fur again. Both the wee boys look unsettled. 🙁🙁 Hopefully they’ll all settle down quickly and be happy again. ❤❤ We all love this family so much, it's easy to forget they think very differently to us. Gorillas don't think about these situations in terms of who is at fault, or what is fair. D'Jeeco's job is to manage the family. If there's trouble between group members, he will immediately try to subdue the most dominant character, which in this case will always be Tayari. 😞 It's not about having favourites or 'picking on' anyone, it's just the best strategy for stopping a fight quickly. ❤❤

So all who who are saying but Tayari did nothing, Iriki started it, well in this familys case Djeeco is just punishing Tayari cuase in the past it was always her starting the fights. But I do believe Tay has matured a bit and lately it hasnt been her fault. But she did enough damage early on so now shes the one to get punished all the time.

It's D’jeeco’s job to break up fights, but he seemed to take a while to cool down. I hope Tayari wasn’t hurt much. Iriki seems to have hurt her wrist, too.

I can actually say this is the first time I seen Iriki start with T and T still got in trouble. I felt for her not only did he slam her he bit her and threw some body shots in there wow. I don’t ever recall him disciplining Iriki. SMH. And on top of the T shows Dejeeco the most attention and plays with the kids. Very disappointed with D on this one
He has disciplined Iriki before but it's usually Tayari.
Oh really. I just have never seen it. It’s crazy because these girls have grown up together since they were babies. You think by now there wouldn’t be as many fights but I guess that is where female dominance in the group comes in play
No where near the first.
Tayari is and has always been the more spirited, mischievous, and playful one, 🥰 instigating things, and testing Iriki and D'Jeeco. D'Jeeco is obligated to keep order and show dominance. There's no way to know exactly what happened in that cave, or what happened prior that day, or night. All I know is that I've NEVER seen D'Jeeco discipline either one of them that aggressively. They were both scared enough to pee and defecate on themselves coming out of the cave, so it was something major.
Now, D'Jeeco may have gotten it wrong on who to discipline, but this isn't his normal behavior and his bond with Tayari has always been undeniable.
Tayri is the trouble maker!! She goes after Ringo all the time!! They are so stressed out living in captivity!! All self aware animals are stressed in zoos!!
I feel like I missed something that could have triggered this. The girls have eaten together before in the cave, not sure why this time it was a problem.
Wow. Meet Djeeco: the troop silver back. Meet Tayari: the troop bit back. Usually it's Tayari that seems to start the fights; but this time it looks like Iriki might have been the instigator. It's difficult to tell when you can't get the whole context, but Djeeco might have been going on past experience and assumed Tayari was the problem.
That was entirely too much for D’Jeeco to do to Tayari. She is mischievous sometimes but she can’t be the family punching bang. I don’t like that he bites like that. He was hitting her too. Just sad.
Usually the bites and shaking are not deep or violent, but this was much different. Tayari has actual wounds on her back this time.
It makes me wonder why he felt the need to discipline Tayari so roughly ... especially when it looked like Iriki instigated it, though it's hard to see inside the cave to know for sure.
@@urban_fox4658 she’s had wounds before too. More often and worse lately. It did look like Iriki started it. Looked like she may have been hit with the branch Tayari was carrying. Definitely a misunderstanding. I know that D’Jeeco is a good silverback and leader but just like humans they do things that we don’t like sometimes. Tayari is such a special, highly intelligent, and funny girl. I hate to see her demoralized.
@@justbreathe_ Tayari is one tough girl! She's mischievous and has tested D'Jeeco and Iriki's patience a lot, especially since Ringo's been born. But her bond with D'Jeeco is undeniable. There must have been a reason for such strong discipline and for both girls peeing and defecating on themselves coming out of the cave. We just don't know exactly what's been going on. 🤷🏻♀️

其實金剛猩猩跟人類一樣聰明，所以迪亞哥總是柿子挑軟的吃、然後又仗著Tayari喜歡牠拿牠沒輒，總是欺負Tayari,唯有Iriki搶了牠的食物牠才敢兇Iriki,不過也不會太兇，畢竟要是Iriki兇起來迪亞哥只有被打的份...
看到Tayari的表情真的好難過～~
這次真的覺得迪亞哥很討厭😡😡😡😡😡
In this video, I felt so sorry for Tayari, though I try really hard not to view her with human views and ideologies since they are primates. I have been watching this family since before Jabali and Ringo were born, actually since Tayari and Iriki were babies at Apenheul. We see short videos of their 24 hour day so none of us have the complete picture. Tayari and Iriki have a very close bond with one another, but they do fight from time-to-time (Iriki instigates it just as much as Tayari). Iriki used to always be may favorite gorilla to watch, but she's changed dramatically since having Ringo. And I would even venture to say that Tayari has become the better mother over the last couple of years. Jabali's infant years were very rough, but Tayari was also always teaching him to be independent and curious just as her own mother taught her at Apenheul when she was a baby. I appreciate that Animal Stories shows us all sides of this troop and their family dynamics instead of just editing to show us warm and fuzzy videos. But I also think people need to stop humanizing these primates. They are not human. They have their own troop rules and hierarchy. Sure they may share DNA with humans and they may have other similarities to us, but they are animals.
💯💯💯 I’ve watched these sisters from infancy and they were so sweet and close, but after becoming mothers the gorilla dominance hierarchy seemed to go into effect. Iriki is the alpha and Tay defers to her, but to me, Iriki is short tempered and can be mean. I think she was wrong to attack Tay for entering the cave. It seemed innocent but what do I know. It’s gorilla life.
He couldn't tell which one was at fault so he just randomly went after whoever. I've noticed Shabani get mad at the wrong one several times. Sometimes the silver backs wrong target.
@johnwright9373 Well I've seen Shabani go attack Ai after Kiyo tried making moves on her. She wasn't interested at all and yet Shabani attacked her. The same thing happened with Nene. Let's not forget when Annie would tease Nene and Shabani would then attack Nene for it when Annie was the instigator. I know Nene wasn't nice to Annie when she was younger but that has switched. Shabani misses the mark a lot. I think he is generally a good guy, but makes mistakes in this department.
@johnwright9373 As far as the running they expect blow back from the females, which they usually get. Shabani makes a game out it.

No coddling anyone, and gives the offender the chance to come and submit to his dominance (yeah, some people are going to hate that, but he IS the Alpha). Every primate troop is about hierarchy, provision, safety, order, and teamwork.
It seemed like D'Jeeco's discipline was overly aggressive compared to the offense, but we don't know exactly what happened.
I did see that Iriki came out urinating and defecating on herself and D'J purposefully pulled Tayari away from Iriki to discipline her (which, then Tayari defecated), so it may have been more than the little we could see. Still hard to watch. 😥

It definitely looked like Iriki instigated the scuffle as Tayari came into the cave with food, HOWEVER, it was Iriki who came out of the cave screaming, urinating and defecating on herself. That's a fear response.
And D'J purposefully grabbed Tayari and pulled her away from Iriki and Ringo, so he wasn't mistaking who he was disciplining, but he may have been mistaken that she was at fault. (Though, Tayari is the dominant female, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.)
That was the most aggressive I've ever seen D'Jeeco; usually he shakes his whole body to disperse his strength, and it like D'J's discipline was overly aggressive compared to the offense, but we didn't get to see exactly what happened, plus they have different rules than humans.
We need to be careful not to anthropomorphize them. D'J doesn't HATE Tay or LOVE Iriki. A primate troop is about hierarchy 1st, provision, order, teamwork, and safety. It's not anything personal, and the success of this troop ALL falls on D'Jeeco.
But, yeah, it was still really hard to watch. 😥 But then things went back to normal, so 🤷🏻♀️
(I'm wondering if Iriki is sick or ... pregnant?! I know their bellies are always healthy and big, but Irikis seems to be bigger and the roundness is more like a shelf with clear definition. LOL I'm probably wrong, bc she still nurses Ringo some and females usually wait 3-5 yrs between pregnancies, but, I dunno. Now I may be reaching ... or trying to defend D'Jeeco's "off" behavior. Lol) At least we DO know that MOST of the time, the Big Guy is as chill as it gets. And he's still young. ❤🦍❤

I think you might need to do some research on animal groups. Especially non-human primates.
However, even pack animals have one Alpha that mates with all the females. It's about having the strongest pack leader's genes passed down through generations.

Actually if you look when Tayari enters the cave she is about to attack Iriki on her left ..it looks very like she lunges at her but Iriki is too fast like she's expecting Tayari to attack her and gets in there first ..what do others see ?🤔

Holy crap, this was bad. I’ve never seen DJ this violent; he wasn’t just biting her, he was throwing her against the ground and punching her-Jabali wouldn’t even get in the middle of it. And yet, there’s more to this, both behind the scenes and historically, than what just happened. For the past month, Tay has had fresh gouges on her back regularly, but not from anything I’ve seen on camera.
About a year ago, the sisters squared off. Tay already had solid command of the cubby hole in the rock wall, keeping her sister from getting near DJ, when Iriki began to take over as Queen of the Cave, where she likes to pluck hubby. But it all started way back when Ringo was born, and Tay, as the apple of DJ‘s eye with the first baby, was not happy with the threat of DJ’s affection turning toward Iriki because she then had the coveted youngest baby. Tay went on the warpath, becoming increasingly more aggressive in their sisterly wrestling, in which Iriki had always been the more submissive, generally on the bottom on her back, fending off with her feet but now holding tiny Ringo, who kept getting squished. For a long time Iriki was still smiling and enjoying their childhood matches, but then came some nastier bouts, Ringo screaming (where DJ had to jump in). All this coincided with months of Tay’s continuous rough looting of Ringo, on through the time of Iriki‘s allergic reaction to a bad load of hay-her eyes swelling up so she could barely see, the allergy meds making her groggy and stumbling and unable to protect her baby. The sister relationship began to sour. Then one day last summer-ish, in front of the cave, Tay had Ringo and Iriki was fighting furious-when she reached to grab him, Tay yanked him away, and slipped, taking Ringo with her as she fell ass over teakettle down the ditch, Iriki diving after her, ready to kill her. (I wish I could find that vid.) That incident, it seemed to me, was the end of the sisterhood; Iriki had finally had it. She abruptly ceased all friendliness, which continues to this day, and now vehemently stands up for herself. Tay got horrifyingly more than she deserved today. But the cave is Iriki’s territory and DJ knows it. Tay can’t just waltz in there like she owns the place. Who the hell knows exactly what’s been going on off-camera lately, probably just more of the same. Tay hasn’t adjusted to Iriki’s adamant fighting back and ownership of the cave. And she isn’t content with being relegated to merely her Snuggling-With-Sweetie Cubby Hole, where Iriki rarely inserts herself. Seems to me, from the outside, like a fair sharing of their honey-bunch, neither of them with a total monopoly. But that doesn’t appear to be the gorilla way.

I remember that video. It seemed that Iriki’s attitude rubbed off on Ringo and he wasn’t as wary of Tayari anymore. This time DJ went all in and I was surprised by the pummeling! I felt bad for baby J watching his mom. He looked so lost and even looked around as if someone might help him. That made me very sad. I don’t know what order these videos are in but he’s very clingy to mom lately. Maybe it’s the heat but he seems lethargic. I thought Ringo was going to pass out sitting with mom. But later it looked as if emotions were settling down. But I’m sure Tayari was really hurting after this one. 😢
@@MySkinnydip The more I watched it, the more I saw. Baby J surely thought his world was ending, blew right up in his face. When he finally could slide his arm around mom, I cried. Yi! How scary. It happened in a snap-all calm to nightmare fury. Hard to watch. And yet I did, over and over, in slo mo, until I could grasp how it effected every one of them. Iriki was the first spraying pee, then pooping, later plucking. Next Tay peeing, and peeing, then pooping. When DJ grabbed her, Iriki was right in there, dancing around, screaming, egging him on . . . but it seemed that as she quickly saw how bad it was getting, she stepped back and went silent. DJ lifted Tay off the ground, swung around, and slammed her down. Then went at it forever. I felt so badly for her (even though I’ve wanted to pummel her myself enough times). Gorillas are tough, but I’ll be surprised if she can walk today. Ringo, who instantly took to mom’s back, later looked like he’d just witnessed WWIII. And DJ kept at it, following Tay all over with added reminders. (Remember the days when if he just looked cross-eyed at one of the sisters, they would take off together, a team, side by side, chasing him, teeth bared, screaming.) I found the final scene heartbreaking, too. Tay sitting over by the door, holding herself; he standing nearby, but not apologizing. Her brainwaves seemed to say, sadly, quietly, Why did you do this to me? His were only: Did you get the message?😵
@@katewaterbaby After watching Momoka egging her dad on again to mate,I thought it would be good if both sisters went to one Silverback like Tay and Iriki. Now I’m not so sure. Both sisters are very different but Komomo wants nothing to do with Haoko while Momoka seems to be ready to move up hierarchy ladder. It depends on the lucky Silverback I guess. Komomo is a lot more level headed but she does have a jealous streak.

What I've seen in the Apenheul vids of old, the sisters played and wrestled but Iriki always seemed more on the shy, submissive, and mannerly side; Tay the raucous tomboy and brainy escape artist! I always wished they had sent Iriki and Chama, instead of Tay. But she was 6 mos younger than Iriki. So the two oldest went out into the world.
You know, I can't help but think there's been some instigating going on by Tay behind the scenes lately, which would account for the regular bites on her back. DJ is not mean. This was heavy discipline just to come out of nowhere. And Iriki doesn't blow like that over nothing. It had to have been building. I think we're missing pieces.

It is sad to see that D'jeeco got it wrong this time, but I think Tayari is just reaping what she's sown. We've seen time and again that Tayari has been the instigator, and DJ is so used to it that he automatically disciplines Tayari now no matter who starts the problems. It is good to see Iriki standing up for herself, but Tayari is a very smart girl. She will figure out what she has to do to stay in DJs good graces. This is how gorillas handle conflict, it's natural to them, and they'll work it all out. Meanwhile Jabali and Ringo are getting a lesson on troop interpersonal dynamics, which is important for their development.
D’jeeco has to show who is boss. Ringo’s mum is his favourite
