Oh god, can't believe I almost didn't comment again! First of all, I WANT THAT GRINNAH TOY! Second, I liked the sketch this week. I still had a slight chuckle. Glad you guys had a good christmas. One thing I really missed from the last two hobbit films was definitely the song of the lonely mountain. Absolutely fantastic music. By far the best from the Hobbit films. Don't understand why it wasn't in any of the last films. On the topic of remakes, I can't really see them doing a reamke of lotr/hobbit in our life time. I can't see it being as big of a hit if they did. That's all I've really got this week, sorry! Not as many topics as usual. I hope you're feeling better by now Damian and I shall see you both at the weekend!
A little late I know but I heard the reason we didn’t get the Lonely Mountain theme is because it wasn’t written by Howard Shore. After watching the AUJ documentaries it was written by a folk group that did some playing before Howard Started working on the full film score.
Larry's comment is never late, nor is it early, it arives precisely when it means to. You've probably allready filmed the next one by now, but I didn't get much painting done this week so I didn't end up finishing it until now. I'm still writing a comment, as it's traditional, even if you don't end up reading it (though I'll keep it quite breif). Firstly, my christmas was pretty good. There that's more than one word, I've fulfilled my obligations. T'was pretty sad that the Misty Mountain theme wasn't used; it's what I generally hum in my head when I charge while playing as dwarves or Thorin's Company, it just feels right. I then roll no six while shielding with Thorin against warriors of Rohan. On the subject of new profiles, I really do hope we'll get, at the very least a Dáin profile, so we can get the pig, without having to proxy something. But mostly I just want models, as (to my overly pedantic mind at least) the Iron Hills dwarves are just too dissimilar compared to the Grim Hammers for me to want to use them to represent them without an annoying ammount of conversion, but that's just me. While I can see them leaving out Ringwraiths (though interestingly, considering one is aparantly Peter Jackson's cameo they must not have been entirely CG, so models aren't as unlikely as they might otherwise be) armoured goblins, bats and the trolls and their ilk, I'd be suprised if no dwarves were released what so ever (beyond the company obviously). Finally, who do you reckon would win, out of Smaug, and twenty Tauriels? Baring in mind that would be over twice his points worth, regardless of which Tauriel you use. The correct answer is of course Legolas and Kili.
Showing how you would have done the sketch was just as funny as having a sketch! I'm hopeful for more releases. Like you say, why would they make a Radagast riding Eagle profile without making the model for it? That models definitely to come so there has to be various other releases as well because GW would want to go out with a 'bang'. A final push of sales before the inevitable end?
Fave Dredericks here ;) If I could get a film remade it would be an English speaking version of Pan's Labyrinth. A great movie only let down by the fact it is subtitled. Welcome back Palantir.
We actually chatted about putting this up as the video for the 2nd of Jan when I was in the States but I just didn't get it edited together in time. I think it'd be a cool idea (as much for us as for you guys!) so yeah I think it might be something that pops up in the not too distant future - GBHL Damian
Can I pay for the £295 refund by direct debit? My new years resolution is the same as every year, which is to give up smoking. As a non smoker I've achieved this for 32 years. Oh check you Steve Crowe with the tea toast. We'll never hear the end of it down the club.
PM me and I'll send you my address. The refund is £295 and I can assure you I will ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY send it back to you and not buy a great big lizard. Or 1475 Freddos..... - GBHL Damian

Speaking of how The Hobbit will effect the way you view certain scenes in LotR, I think Balin's Tomb is now a whole load more hearbreaking!
That's very true, and Ori as well.

A discussion around what people would like to see in the battle for the five armies extended edition???
The extended edition has a company of Dwarfs riding goats show up to the fight. Thorin, Fili and Kili get them from those fellows.

QI is probably where you heard about the toilet in Psycho Tom
Yeah that's it! Good work :)
You got to love Stephen Fry, Master of random toilet knowledge and Master of Lake Town
rklammer Awh I love QI. Most of us probably would've become Doctors and Scientists if we had Stephen Fry as our teacher in school.
Could you do a video of all the scetches?

Any footage from America?
Nah, twas a holiday and there was no Lord of the Rings involved, just lots of Disney, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter!
