The Slip Ons that you have on the 748 are like...my heart beat!!! Wow. These are all your gifts? I love how D went from 748 to 998 but wasnt really crazy about aesthetics from 998 to 1098...totally. LOVE the tradition of Ducati. May you enjoy many moments of this life on these devices. Les from Los Angeles, CA
@samlim94 The only difference is that they aren't priced out of the market for regular folks to own. They are fast and handle great , and sound great, like Ferarri's... And also made in Italy :)
Hey rerell i hope you liked all the bikes i borrowed you for the video there. Nice to have them all back in my house, close to my lamborghini ... Jesus christ im jealous now
The clicking is the desmodromic valve train and the clutch plates (if the bike has a vented clutch cover) A Ducati under a load sounds like a small block V8
@RemyLeBleau I have to say that I agree with you.. I have a Ducati S4Rs and love the bike. The MV Augusta is flat out awesome machine. Some day I will must likely own a MV Augusta
I'm interested to know what causes the mechanical clinching sound especially from 0:44 to 0:48... I hear it in almost all ducati bikes and it is definitely a unique signature of Ducati..
great bikes, out those 3, the 1098 would be my choice for noise, sounds more balanced and you hear less of the dry clutch but thats probably because its a newer bike than the 998 and 748 :p
am i right in thinking the 998 has an sp clutch, as apposed to the standard one on the 748. there's defo a difference in sound to them (998 sounds alot nicer)
Idle ducatis sound like tractors but once you rev up they sound amazing.... Da ferme le ducati sembrano dei trattori ma quando sgasi sono fantastiche...
Maybe that would have been more interesting, but after having replaced 11 rockers in the 748, I wasn't prepared to go much further while it was still cold. Anyway, there is some more gas in the video response.
Then if this pisses you off go to your bike while it is in neutral and hold it WOT until you are satisfied... He obviously doesn't want to rev the snot out of the motor for whatever reason (they're SEVERAL)
mad4tarmac , heck, I’d give my left nut to have this collection in my garage. I will always hate my ex-wife for making me sell my 748. Yes, keeping it in the living room was a bit much

Its a combination of the Dry Clutch and the Desmodromic System of the engine...Ducati motors dont use any valve springs

748 idle is just.... HEAVEN!

A symphonic treat for the ears!
I think it is you, they sound fierce and sexy. that classic Ducati sound, coupled with the cherry red on a 996... damn
The mechanical clinching sound, is the dry clutch
998 is the pick of the bunch, 748 is my next choice for replacing my GPX(EX)250 (2007)
Great video mate
@samlim94 Nope, the MV F41000 Agusta is. Most of the engine was designed by Ferrari.

I would have no problem being your neighbor, they all sound great.
The clicking is the desmodromic valve train and the clutch plates (if the bike has a vented clutch cover)
A Ducati under a load sounds like a small block V8
@samlim94 No they're just both manufactured in the same country, Italy.

@samlim94 not really.... ducati isn't the fastest bike in his cathegory but they have lot of acceleration
I agree. I didn't realize that until I was editing the video later on.
I love how my $15,000 ducati is a bitch to start. Worth every struggle.
am i right in thinking the 998 has an sp clutch, as apposed to the standard one on the 748. there's defo a difference in sound to them (998 sounds alot nicer)

It's you. :-)
I guess the dry clutch rattle it a love it/hate it sort of thing.
Maybe that would have been more interesting, but after having replaced 11 rockers in the 748, I wasn't prepared to go much further while it was still cold. Anyway, there is some more gas in the video response.
all clutches are dry... but not all are inside the angine
@omg77787
Its an out of this world type of thing...you must EXPERIENCE to understand. Otherwise keep searching....
@samlim94 ABSOLUTELY!!!
Then if this pisses you off go to your bike while it is in neutral and hold it WOT until you are satisfied... He obviously doesn't want to rev the snot out of the motor for whatever reason (they're SEVERAL)
