GiPro gear indicator setup (learning mode)
Setting up a GiPro gear indicator on a Ducati Hypermotard 1100S. Simply stay in the current gear until "n" is displayed, then shift to the next gear (whenever you're ready). When the number is flashing, GiPro is learning that gear. Go through all gears and when "o" is displayed, you're all done.

i know this video is old now but how did you put the unit back into reset mode L did you disconnect battery to reset on the side of the road just before take off because if you just pulled up it would have already been trying to learn gears on your ride to this stop on the side off the long road wouldn't it if you know what mean, cheers
Hey! That depends on what version you have. With the one I have (old one), I get into L-mode by having the gearbox in N, switching the ignition off, then on, and while the gear indicator is counting up through the numbers, I switch the ignition off again. Repeat this cycle for 5 or 6 times and it will start in L-mode. If you have the newer version, there is a touch sensitive area on top of the unit which lets you access a menu. @@rerell thanks for the reply and the good info, i just fitted it for a customer on an oldish honda hornet 900 and i told him to set it on the road riding rather than me on a stand in the workshop. will pass that info on to him. cheers from down under here in Australia.

How the hell did you get this thing installed? What did you do with the red wire?
Hey! Mine is the "DS-series", which (on my bike) simply plugs directly into the diagnostic connector under the seat and that's it. If you have a Triumph I think there is an extra wire that you need to connect to a switched power lead. Have a look here, there are FAQs and manuals with installation instructions for most bikes. Buy an odysessy pc680 battery this is the size for a ST2 from 98 and agood trickle charger and up grade to the heavier guage the starter wires. Job done

The mechanical clinching sound, is the dry clutch
I'm interested to know what causes the mechanical clinching sound especially from 0:44 to 0:48... I hear it in almost all ducati bikes and it is definitely a unique signature of Ducati..

i am sorry but i4 engine is the best in sound and performance thats why the zx-10 and s1000RR beat the 1199 with just 1000CC,200 less can you have a little brain activiti and tell me with engine have a better racing sound?
Bang for the buck has nothing to do with it. Japanese bikes are characterless, soulless, pieces of engineering. non-inline 4 cylinder bikes are actually a blast to ride. European bikes are priced higher because of top notch components. If I wanted bang for buck, I would have bought a moped.
King of racing? Do you have any idea how many World Superbike titles Ducati has? The only thing the Japanese have been winning is MotoGP... and please tell me why that matters... because I don't see anyone riding MotoGP bikes around on the street. Also, Ducati has only been racing in MotoGP since 2003, which is not very long.
