Not sure if you know about 3M Command Strips, a way to hang items on the wall without holes or damage. Basically a hook or a variety of other attachments with a sticky rubbery backing that is strong, but peels off easily. There are store brands but get 3M. One of the things where the OG brand is superior in every way.
We used those this past Christmas, put one on a mirror to hang a wreath. Unfortunately, it was hard taking it off. Maybe, better for use on a wall, not on glass. 😱
Take it from a Texan, if you want a pair of boots that will be comfortable forever, buy Lucchese. They're expensive, but you won't regret it!🤠 Plus, I love the flag!
If your refrigerator dispenses water, I'll bet it's filtered. You can save some money on bottled water. You can also get a Brita filter and run your tap water through it. I've lived in Houston my whole life and never buy bottled water. In the US, bottling companies will run city tap water through a charcoal filter and sell it as "premium" or "spring water."
I bought a pair Justin Roper black dress boots 30 years ago. And still wearing them. Boots are expensive but if you take care of them they will last you a lifetime. Love my boots. Most definitely comfortable and wear them everyday. There are "no damage" hangers for the wall you can get at any store basically. To hang pictures up. 😊 Glad you've chosen Texas as your new home. Blessings to y'all. And much ❤ from the Great State of Texas 🇺🇸
My wife loves the dollar tree store. You can find some deals in there. We didn't get out of the house today. Our high temp was 18 today, it's going to be 2 degrees in the morning here in North Alabama.
You can hang things on the walls with nails. When you move,, just pull out the nails and cover the holes with some spakling paste. Even white toothpaste works,
You should check to see if there's a Five Below near you. They have household and fun things that are higher quality than the dollar store stuff and most things are $5 or below.
You're even more patriotic than me lol - I don't have a flag hanging up...yet. I do play a game with my husband when we're running errands counting the flags we see between our destinations.
LOL get on that horse mate! LOL I have a flag on my garage (lighted for night flyin') You can get a good flag pretty cheap (prolly made in china but just sayin') go get one 😆
I've got a Welsh flag--makes up for his American one (my family's American for many generations but way back was Irish, Scottish and Welsh). Mostly it's because I'm a dragon fan.
One thing y'all should know about your new life in America is that certain words are used differently between our two countries, right? And one such word I've heard you use often js "jumper." We don't really even use that word here. So i believe that many Americans that are not familiar with the UK use might not even know what you're talking about. So may i suggest you start trying to use the words we use for said items of clothing. So a think sewn cloth shirt is called a sweat shirt, because you tend to easily sweat in them with very little exertion. A sweat shirt with a hood is called a hoodie. These may also be open zip up fronts in the form of a jacket, but still called hoodies. A bit lighter hand knitted heavy shirt is called a sweater. In which again, you'd readily sweat more in these than regular shirts. These were the standard heavy shirts until sweat shirts were invented I'm guessing back in the 70s. I was born in the early 70s, and I honestly don't recall seeing swearshirts until the 80s. But anyway, I'm just saying that now that you live here, you might wanna start changing your vocabulary use to what we use colloquially. Because there's some words, like rubber and fag that do not mean what y'all believe they mean. Well, you know what i'm saying... If you use them in the UK way, you might get some funny or even disgusted looks if you're not careful. Just giving you a heads up ahead of time here. Peace...😅
Yeah, to some Americans a jumper is a dress you wear a shirt under! But I also wouldn’t be shocked if some did know, since a lot of people find their words for things funny.
Hopefully you stopped at the Alamo and Riverwalk in San Antonio. If you get a chance the next time you are headed to San Antonio you should check out Gonzales for the cannon and the town of Shiner and do the brewery tour where they make Shiner Beer and all the other ones they brew.
Winter Driving Experience: WI & PA (plus other states but those were the main ones) I usually found back roads easier to gain traction on even though they usually aren't pretreated (whether by salt or by spray) or plowed as often as main roads. When temps *stay* below freezing and the temp of the roadway is still below freezing, sometimes the more traffic the road gets, the more pulverized or stuck in the tires the pretreatment is. When the salt/spray gets dwindles by traffic & temps stay cold, anything that has melted quickly refreezes. The more traffic, the more often it needs treated. I always had better luck with roads people had gravel on, dirt, or you knew somebody's neighbor or farmer had come through and packed the snow or smashed the ice up. Gives your tires something to really bite into! I've driven my share of ice storms and blizzards & Dad is a trucker. Be careful out there and keep your head ❤ Glad you two are finding your way even if the week you're settling in is proving to be a totally different version of "exciting" then you may have originally hoped for 😅🎉!
Gradually acquire different occasion boots, Mike. Take your time. Your tastes may change as you're exposed to more based on what's worn by Texans. Over time, you'll also find many kinds and styles at many sources at competitive prices.
Just wanted to say I really love you guys. I'm not inclined to sub a lot of ppls content but after a few videos I had to sub both of you. I too live in Texas, born and raised. I'm originally from San Antonio but spent most of my life in Central Texas Temple/Belton area. It's about 30 miles south of Waco. My family is from Houston. Spring Woodlands and Cypress.. Anyway, love your channel.. I hope we have made you guys feel completely welcome.. best wishes on your future endeavors.. 😊😊
I'm from Cypress, Tomball and as an adult... Arlington. Life events sent me to Oklahoma. Texas is so expensive now, I doubt I'll be able to ever move back. But you never know what future events may change that.
"The Crown" is excellent--very popular in the US also. When you run out of other newer TV series, you may be ready to watch "The Sopranos" if you haven't seen it. Many seasons but all good.
The dollar store prices were basically forced to go up by the economy going south, and once that happened, it probably seemed silly not to carry other even more expensive things.
Ive been watching your journey. Its wonderful how you all are adapting to life in America. I have a friend doing the same and i wanted to know what paperwork you needed to obtain a drivers license 😊
Be careful with going with the total bottom of the barrel edible and grooming products. Some of them have nasty unhealthy ingredients in order to save a buck. Most generics are okay but be safe also.Try not to get patriotic stuff that is made in cyna too.
I understand about boots I had two pair. I little secret. They didnt make me a cowboy. They wont make you American. Start by not saying jumper. Nobody ever says that.
I am a cowboy boot addict! I also collect American flag stuff and love to go to the shooting range- I don’t live in Texas, but I have visited and I love it! I live in Ohio- I guess I am a wanna be cowgirl! PS- welcome to the United States! ❤🤍💙
I'm glad you purchased the American Flag. No matter how nice a family's home may look, it's never complete without the stars and stripes.
You remind me that I need to be more patriotic. You’re such good ambassadors of American spirit and are so friggin’ cute.

Can confirm. I’ve been using the heck out of those things for 20 years.

Next time ya'll are in Chick-fil-a try the frozen lemonade. Tastes like a milk shake. Also people who like Korean ramen usually like Mexican raman.
I am loving this journey with you guys! I'm your neighbor to the North in Colorado💗
Dollar Tree is the best!!!
The dollar store prices were basically forced to go up by the economy going south, and once that happened, it probably seemed silly not to carry other even more expensive things.
Look at your 99 cent store receipt. They actually charge 99.99, so the cost is really a dollar.
Ive been watching your journey. Its wonderful how you all are adapting to life in America. I have a friend doing the same and i wanted to know what paperwork you needed to obtain a drivers license 😊
I want to see you all at a rodeo. 😊
You guys are so cute ❤
You should start a water company be like Logan Paul. 😂
Learn about the term "Black Ice" for roads in freezing temperatures.
Just be careful driving to San Antonino because the elevation changes ,you are starting to go up hill!
Be careful with going with the total bottom of the barrel edible and grooming products. Some of them have nasty unhealthy ingredients in order to save a buck. Most generics are okay but be safe also.Try not to get patriotic stuff that is made in cyna too.
That's great. I guess you got immigration status approved. I know it can take some time to do it legally. Goodluck
