Its like a step back 194 years ago.Bloody well ,well done! Could you imagine someone like Mel Gibson doing this movie? Excellant ending.Must have been like the worst smell and noise of dead and dying soldiers and horses afterwards?
My late Father was a model maker and painted my Airfix and Btritains soldiers for me as a child with great precision. I have kept many but loved playing with them so, they are all mixed up in odd boxes. My fun was setting them out, historically as you can at between 5 and 12years ! and latterly shooting them down in turns using canon that fired matchsticks or lead shells. I also pinged elastic bands and often built conning towers out of dominoes. But it was the Napoleonic games I loved most
THAT is really good! Thank you for posting. Great job on the scenery and blending the figures to the terrain. Nice camera shots as well getting down to eye level with the figures. Scott
I recognize a lot of these figures... ESCI, HAT, etc. I started to do up a British Army of the period, but my eyeballs just can't take it anymore. Nice work!
Cool! You put a lot of time and effort into your miniautures and in making this movie, its evident. Top stuff. I want to do something like this but for the eastern front - WW2.
Excellent work, many late hours...hahaha...I did one about 3'x4' of viet nam I had the rice paddies hundreds of American and Viet cong hand painted 1/72 figures. I had put about 4 months of work into my project off and on time. Came home one night after working evening shift and I always liked to look in and take a peak. Well one night I looked in and had to take a double look, it had been destroyed, all of the flying helicoptors were knocked down trees broke .... all because of a jealous wife
thats very cool! i´m planing something similar with late roman figures. i already painted them but there was no chance to build a diorama because i have no space for this diorama left in my room :(
I agree with the others very cool! You might wanna put in some panning shots or overhead sweeps or larger shots of the overall battlefield...it looks like you went for a lot of closeups to show off all your hard work but it would be nice to have a better overall picture of what and where things are happening...do you ever play wargames with these miniatures? What did you think of the movie? Seems like they should do another one!
Great stuff. Lots of painting of toy soldiers here - believe me! Belgium-Dutch infantry? Note 1.44 - 1.49 -Dutch & 1.51-Belgium? Most 'Netherlands' soldiers wore a uniform of similar colour & style to the French as several years previously they had been part of the Greater French Empire!
This is excellent...have you ever seen the Siborne model...i think yours is better..his is very small scale i took binos to look at it..but it did have to cover the whole battle field and be portable ..and its still huge ...thanks would love to see more ..
Generally speaking, 1:72 is called 20mm (measured from foot to eye.) But it's open to interpretation. In theory, 6' people represented as 25.4mm tall (foot to tope of head) are precisely 1:72. Therefore, less well nourished 19th century people, measuring 20mm from foot to eye, (and 22/23mm in total height) are about right for 1:72. As long as you don't mix & match 20s/25s/28s within the same units, it's not too noticeable though.
lets all get together and start pre production on remaking the movie?Richard Gere could be Wellington,Tom Cruise as Blucher ,Anthony Hopkins as Napolean. Then put all the Matt Damonsetc as majors of cavalry units and regiments at the key points on the battlefield.....
my nephew has learning difficulties. but being a boy, I suspect he would enjoy a simplified version of this . ( I have hundreds of figures) where can I find some really simple rules? Not bothered about realism, just want a playable game over in an hour. Any suggestions?
Very good video. I also paint in 1/72 scale. Some of the figures seems to be from the "Italy" company? They make some great figures by the way, nice job dude :D
Some of the figures look like ITALERI 25mm plastic figures that I have used. I presently have some 1,700 painted of IALERI and HAT of Austrians, French, Russians, British, and Bavarians. I could not find any decent Prussian figures, except dragoons/cuirassiers, which I shall use for future Saxons along with some (French) infantry of 1780. I have about 500 more to paint. What does 1:72 translate into in millimeters? You have done a Superb Job, and I take my Bicorne off to you! Huzzah !
you know I dreamt of being able to recreate that battle as a kid. had all the soldiers, in 1:72, but never the patience for painting them all. how can I buy yours, maybe I can make up for it now, have my own little Waterloo
hmm nice effort , but go to the Musee d'Larmee in Paris, you will see the blue should be very very dark blue on all the French uniforms.Need more info go to the musee de Armee to see the real thing!
It's great to have a hobby and passion for something like this. Excellent work.
can't believe you created, captured, filmed & brought to life all that, on that tiny table :o .. fantastic !
Its like a step back 194 years ago.Bloody well ,well done!

Excellant ending.Must have been like the worst smell and noise of dead and dying soldiers and horses afterwards?
A spectacular piece of film making. Great photography and the lighting changes are very realistic.

very well done,, these are small scale figures as well to have to paint to achieve this effect so hours of painting went into it, really excellent..
Some of those still look like paintings. Very well done.
Very impressing, you could almost feel the smell of gunpowder. I did however miss the final attack of the french imperial guard.
bellissimo diorama, ricco di dettagli..ciao da Firenze, Italia
très bon travail de mise en scène et de peinture
félicitation !!
Incredible, absolutely Incredible.
My favorite was the bit with the highlanders.
Absolutly sensational detail. Well done. One of the best I have seen
Superbly done. I have lots of these figures myself so appreciate the effort that has gone in to painting them.
you did a great job, it has always been my dream to build a large waterloo diorama i really do admire your work
Very nice work. Outstanding effects as well.
DIG THE HUSSAR AT 2.09! OUTSTANDING WORK!
THAT is really good! Thank you for posting. Great job on the scenery and blending the figures to the terrain. Nice camera shots as well getting down to eye level with the figures.
Scott
You sir are very good at this please keep it up...it is a good thing to honor the men of battle and this you have done.
Nicely done! I like the sound effects and the presentation of the battle chronologically.
I recognize a lot of these figures... ESCI, HAT, etc. I started to do up a British Army of the period, but my eyeballs just can't take it anymore. Nice work!
excellent job I have a shit load of all those airfix soldiers but the detail you have gone into is excellent.
Cool, you could even sell this arrangement to a museum or another collector if you wanted to.
That is pleasantly surprisingly very - very good.
Well done Sir
Effet saississant !Excellent !
omg... how many figures aint there !?...
so good painted, so nice made...
5 stare - no dubt
That was great. Youra very good model painter, when I paint my miniatures they do not look alive.
Also, a GREAT movie. I would have liked to make it less dynamic but it is brilliant as it is .
Incredible work! thanks.

SUPERBE et vive LA FRANCE !!!
As opposed to someone who sits behind their computer all day, criticising others for actually achieving something they wanted to do.
This is excellent! I would like to see this also done in stop motion, although I know it would take a long time.
absolutely amazing.
very nice sound effects.

wow nice done
Excellent. Well done!
bloody astounding
Wonderful vid! I have many of the same figures but none are as well painted as yours. Great work!
Love it, well done.
Very impressive.
I love the perspective at 1:07
Without Blucher's (promised) support,he wouldn't have fought the battle. Wellington was no fool.
Magnificent job
Looks absolutely great!
Only thing i did not like is that it is waterloo, which i really think is getting to much attention.
this is awesome! great work mate!
thats very cool! i´m planing something similar with late roman figures. i already painted them but there was no chance to build a diorama because i have no space for this diorama left in my room :(
awesome! i really hope i have the time and peace to do somthing similar some day..
I agree with the others very cool! Fantastic!

Wellington had a brilliand strategy but without Blüchers support, he had lost the battle ;)
Very good!
Very well done - lots of work.
And very exciting.
But please tell us what figures did you use - so many different ones!
Is this real video footage from the battle?

I understand, but the boxes I buy call it 25mm. I have noticed some slight differences in height. Best wishes and regards.
Very impressive. I love to watch past battles but thank God we do not have to participate in one. Do you other battle scenes?
my nephew has learning difficulties. but being a boy, I suspect he would enjoy a simplified version of this . ( I have hundreds of figures) where can I find some really simple rules? Not bothered about realism, just want a playable game over in an hour. Any suggestions?
¡¡¡Genio!!!
Very very very impressive... you have to try Napoleon Total War....
Fantastic! how many time have you spent so far?
Very good video. I also paint in 1/72 scale. Some of the figures seems to be from the "Italy" company? They make some great figures by the way, nice job dude :D
você faz os soldados? são de plástico ou metal?
THAT I COOL!
P.S: I like the scottish guys!

@TheMrSmissen I heard it too, great video none the less.
Where can i buy these figurines?

all the cavalrymen are just riding around the battlefield aimlessly and getting shot at :P
vive l empereur !!!!
For England! :O
I think I'm in the wrong hobby. I think building dioramas is a lot more fun than playing actual wargames
PS: I just remembered, 25mm figures are described as 1:72, so answer remembered !.
nice
I was Awesome!
Hogoumont farm?
