Probably just to help the life guards control the situation better.
Scared people do stupid shit so police are there so beach goers behave while the lifeguards do their job. But I do quite like the idea of a shark wearing cuffs around it's flippers
Police respond to shark sightings because they have weapons to kill the shark if necessary if it is a threat to people and it doesn't back away from the shore.

Haha, this is so true! I grew up in South Australia, which is one of the known regions for Great White's. Swimming at the beach as a kid if the shark alarm went off everyone just kind of casually strolled out of the ocean, stood around waiting for the all clear, and then went straight back in the water. I've literally never experienced a shark alarm situation at a beach where people started panicking en masse. It's just like (shark alarm sounds) 'oh right-o, better get out the water then'.
@@claireeyles7560 lolololol I love that bc it’s the exact same way here in the southern US when we get tornado sirens going off all the time during the spring and early summer thunderstorms..... most of the time in college when I lived in a 100+ year old sorority house that the big bad wolf could have demolished with a sneeze, when we would get a tornado siren warning go off like 5 to 7 of us (out of the 50 or so living there) would saunter sleepily down to the basement MAYBE if we weren’t already too exhausted from going out that night haha. 🤣🤷🏻♀️ it’s amazing what you get used to depending on wherever you live lol!!!! 🌪☠️🙏🏼😬💕💕💕💕 (oh and the tornado sirens sound exactly like the shark alarm too lol!)

I was attacked by a shark once before. It got a hold of my leg and as soon as I punched it and started struggling with it it let me go. There was alot of blood and I was injured but I survived. I was on crutches for about a month. It was definitely a scary experience.

I have watched all of these shark videos... I always hear the shark alarm in my head now😂
I’ve been in Florida with my family, everyone was pointing at something but I didn’t see them pointing at whatever and I heard nothing cus water in my ears but then I got the water cleared and I heard the people yelling ‘come back! There’s a shark!’ So I scramble along side my family and get out as fast as I can possibly go. Luckily, no injuries.
People at the beach are almost always worried about sharks and jellyfish
But I’m more scared of the water and broken sea shells!
It hurts so bad to step
on those shells and the thought of drowning is sickening
