for those wondering the mechanical designer of Linebarrels of Iron also worked on the designs of the Ultraman Suits from the manga/Netflix ULTRAMAN series.
Kotobukiya used to make kits from the Linebarrel series and looks pretty cool, don't think they can make them anymore so Moderoid is your only option if you like the design. Or you can pay 300 bucks for the Riobot figure.
Guys if you are interested, read the manga. DO NOT WATCH the anime made by gonzo. Its shitte, dont waste your time, or play the srw ux(yeah its in japanese, but at least adapts most of the manga) By any chance did you review the Kotobukiya kits of linebarrel? Maybe they are better or not than this one( stickers sucks...) As for moderoid, i only build the obsolete kits, and i have no issues with those
Moderoid stickers can be hit or miss in quality. The Promare kit has even more stickers but they're so much easier to put on than Bandai ones that it was almost a pleasant experience, while the PopTeamEpic kit had stickers that don't fit properly, look really bad, and don't stick on well either.
The Moderoid Patlabor kits are my favourite, they seem to be the most consistent in quality as well. I was almost put of the line completley when I got he Savage from Full Metal Panic as that kit was awfull to put together, I had to remove loads of material just to get the thighs to fit flush.
Only moderioid model kit I got was Ordine from Legend of Cold Steel game, my favourite JRPG. While the design wasn't bad, the lack of finishing and colour not matching the box art was a bit disappointing.
@@BrandonTjon I think Valimar had the bronze ones (Gold looks better imo), nope, its all just base color however the mold did make the shape for the lines so you have to paint it or use a silver marker like me. The model is atleast color separated so aside from the painting the ornaments everything is what it looks like on the box art.
A few of those interchangeable parts like the shoulders and shields could've been opening hatchet gimmicks in Bandai's Real Grade. I'm desperately wishing that Bandai would pick this up like RG Gaogaigar.
Great review as usual! If I allowed to make a suggestion, I suggest you to try Moderoid Knights & Magic. Ikaruga, Tzendolg/Tzendolimble, and Toybox (probably Type 3 Equipment set, if you interested).
Always wanted those older model kits but they were so long out of print that it was just impossible to find them. Am pleasantly surprised to see a new one
@@RevanR I get that this series is pretty obscure (and in all honesty, not very good) but why would you be "baffled" by the existence of other series within a genre?

i love that kind of legs "Zone of enders" style
or, Advance of Z style. The footless leg style isn't just ZOE.
@@SamRK-1000 Nah, it's mainly and most iconically ZoE. :)
@@SamRK-1000 Technically speaking, woundwort does has feet. It's very tiny tho.

👏Great unboxing, can't wait for more Linebarrel kits!🚀
Could you review Gun x Sword kits very interesting designs and good gimmicks for sure
Those legs look so unique as well as those arm mounted sword sheaths. Might try that with my astray
Think you do some Amaim Warriors on the Borderline kits?
looks pretty cool. i actually just watched the anime for the 1st time and was looking to see if they had any model kits
The anime changed too much from the manga tbh, I'd recommend giving that a read
@@ramondelgado9836 if its available to buy, i will
@@ramondelgado9836 Yeah it's criminal, I could tell from episode 1 it's not faithful. That last panel with Linebarrel on the moon is legendary.

appreciate if you can add size comparison to gundam hg/mg for non gundam kits
Its an Evangelion Quibeley😮
Rather paint it than using those stickers. 🤣🤣🤣
Holy sheet, Kotobukiya just announced that they going to reprint their Linebarrel kits!!
Lol yeah what crazy timing!
Now I need the Vardent and Hind Kind/Tank.
I rather have the Vardant

I can airbrush a finish no bother. But how's those bronze ornament lines on it? Do you have to paint it and is it difficult?

@@jeremyfusenliu3859Ah gotcha. You need a good hand to paint raised surface detail like that
@@BrandonTjon yea, hence why i opted for a marker, much easier than using a paintbrush, lol

holy moly, the stickers and the lack of grimmick
I think Moderoid kits famously have NO gimmicks. You get what you see
@@BrandonTjon It depends tho. Like Dynazenon, the gimmicks is what you expect in the show.
