    Tel is an absolute legend, and a top bloke with it. The guy deserves a knighthood for sure. People who have achieved and contributed less have had one. Top vid ESP, but no surprise as your content is always outstanding

    So glad he mentioned Joe Morgan. He's the actual inventor of this rig. Well done, Tell.

    LEGEND! Terry Hearn a Living Legend, some fantastic advice here! I will be using this rig for all my bottom bait fishing here in Slovakia. But not sure if i could bring myself to chew on Tiger Nuts, thats some real dedication "an edge" right there. I wonder if i can call Terrys Dentist and him him make a mould / set of his teeth to use as a "grinder" for my tiger nuts. :O) Long live Terry Hearn.

    With 35 years of carping experience, I really think a tiger nut (aka a growler) would be my first choice to catch a carp anywhere.

    You can always drop few feet past the spot, feel the lead down as you would normally, and then bring the boat back couple of feet, and empty the other hopper then. Just saying. Great rig and top angler BTW. Using your rods Tel for the last 15 years. Great stuff.

    We all have our favourite rigs but I truly Believe that each venue will have a Different rig presentation or the same my go to rig at the moment is the chod however I do like a hair rig simply Because you can be more generous with the Baits.

    Could anyone point me in the right direction regards the hook. What barbel hooks is Terry referring to is it the Drennan ones

    • @ESPCarpgear
      @ESPCarpgear  Год назад

      Drennan size 5 barbel hooks or size 6 Cryogen Slammers are his current choice for bottom baits. Chod hammers for chods or hinges.

    terry, does the silicone on the hook ever slide out of position for any other reason like weed or in cast, and thus losing effectiveness?

    You showed the completed rig and explained why/how it works, but you didn’t show the most important part - how to create it. Maybe it’s obvious to you, but not everyone is an expert...

    I copied this rig and used it this week with a few problems, same style hook, trapped the hair with some tubing and some over the eye of the hook to create the kicker. I used Kryston coated braid for the hooklink.
    The problem I had was it hooked the fish right at the back of the mouth/throat and caused quite a bit of damage to the inside of the carps mouth/throat as it was played in. I caught two fish on the rig and had the same problem with both fish so I binned it straight away. I was probably using about a 8-10 inch hook-link, I never get this when I don't use shrink tubing and go with just a simple hair from the knot-less knot.
    Has anyone had this experience before?

    • @bigdking1992
      @bigdking1992 7 лет назад

      I never have a bad hook up on my rig with the tubing, Always right in the corner of the mouth.

      Every lake is diff but if your hooking them that far back shorten your rig to 4-5 inches and see were you hook them

      Top man for binning it and refining it. As others said shorten to say 6" too good to bin completely
