BEING TOUCHED AT PUBLIC PLACES BY MEN AND AS A TEENAGER NOT ABLE TO SPEAK UP ABOUT IT OR TAKE A STAND TO NOT CREATE A SCENE AND BEING SCARED BUT ENDURE AND STAND THERE IS A TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE! It makes us women hate men for that, when they show they accidentally touched us but we know it is not an accident! Seeing this in a movie is NOT FUNNY and we often are called as a mood killer if we don't enjoy such movie scenes.
Now we do respect gentlemen, feel safe with them and do not blame all men.

Rest i had no other info about it. I m truly disgusted by the scenes shown in this video, and presumably the film had even more of such stuff.

One more point. Aajkal ek fashion sa chala hai, to bash Bollywood. Bollywood me sanskar nai hai hai. Bla bla bla. Early 80s me ek film aayi thi. Ardhsatya, starring Om Puri and Smita Patil. May be you have seen it. In that film, in one particular scene, a guy touches Smita Patil inappropriately on a bus, and Om Puri beats up that guy. Later Smita tells him that she has been a victim of that many times before. My point is, bollywood has made plenty of good movies, tum sudharte nahi ho isme bollywood ka kya kasoor.

The groping scene in the Girlfriend song is indeed disturbing to see because they showed it as a "boys at that age just having fun and being mischievous" moment. Unfortunately that attitude still exists. Even as a man you always have to be on alert when you are out with the ladies in your life .. imagine the women going through this themselves.

Apart from the visuals, the lyrics also creeped me out back then. I was in high school at that time and terrified of college-aged men. When they kept singing that they wanted 16 year old girls, it made me feel like a target.

This honestly brought back some horrific memories. I was visiting India as a teenager (16yrs ago) and got groped in public.. On multiple occasions. I don't go out in public often, when I visit now.
I don't know how women deal with it on a daily basis?! I felt violated and disgusted. And the fact that they celebrate it in movies.. absolutely sickening!

"Boys at that age just having fun and being mischievous". So what about the girls? What are they expecting them to do? Just go on and endure what the boys are doing to them in the name of fun? You don't have the right to have fun if the 'fun' means doing something to someone that the 'someone' don't like. Let's say I have fun breaking things. So, I went on grabbing your phone from your hands and smashed it. Because I have fun breaking and smashing things. And you shouldn't say anything about it. That's the logic here😂😂😂

Gitanjali's characterization was not done like that. She felt rational in the few situations she had things to say. She can go to lengths for Ranvijay (or who she loves) and have self respect when someone tries to sell her absolute shit. I don't think she will take revenge, but she should not come back to Ranvijay romantically either. Maybe they bring her back when Ranvijay is injured heavily again. One reason could also be their children. Maybe take his care but when Ranvijay takes any advances she refuses rationally. The drama there could be amped up a bit given Ranvijay's character. That would make her a character of integrity.

The casual treatment of infidelity and the unnecessary angle of extra marital affair takes away from an otherwise perfect movie Animal.... its like we haven't progressed at all 😢

    • @muntahaa1
      @muntahaa1 Месяц назад +16

The point of animal was to show every virtue that the man had turn into a vice. His bravery in the beginning becomes ego-fuelled bravado. His loyalty to family and father becomes immeasurable violence. His love for his wife is replaced with infidelity, something he calls his cousins out for. His one note excuse that it is all for his father is supposed to feel hollow and stupid and, eventually, futile especially in the face of his father getting cancer after all of it.
Basically the film is simply watching the demise of a man who values his so called virtues to the point he becomes a walking contradiction of his own self. So from a plot perspective perhaps the scenes slow the screenplay but it highlights the depth of degeneracy this man (nay, animal) has dropped to. And because of it all he loses absolutely everything: father, wife, child. Everything he thought he was doing it for: gone.
It’s far from a perfect film, definitely huge detriment comes from the choppy and incoherent and poorly paced screenplay. But it certainly has a point to make in there.

4:07 The aspects in the song from Boys were what the youth did in the 90s and 00s. It was quite reflective of how the society was a few decades ago. Looking back, it would appear problematic and it really is, but honestly that's how most of south India was.
There was barely any internet, any adult films but enough free time for guys to roam around craving for physical attention. Yes it is crass and vulgar, but when the song was released it was a blockbuster because of how accurately it portrayed the youth at that time and how they were able to connect to it.

I have not seen that movie but were there any consequences or was that addressed later or came into the story line in an adverse way? See, the reason for the question is that if a movie is shown only from one perspective and disregarding the slightest reaction of the surroundings creates both bias and an incorrect conception. It is not to downplay your argument that boys at that age are testosterone filled, but to criticize the movie for whether it was biased or one sided in its portrayal.

If we go by the accuracy argument, the lens and perspective through which a certain situation is shown should also be accurate, not the just actual scenes. Every time in real life, in public when actual boys/men sexually harass women in any form, it is anything but light-hearted and funny. Nobody laughs, the women are scared and uncomfortable, the people around are also uncomfortable but do nothing to help, some stare while others pretend to be blind to what's happening. So that part is extremely inaccurate. That is one part of youth that the adult men should be ashamed of, and not simply "connect with" in a wave of nostalgia. It was a hit because it catered to disrespectful and degenerate men who take sexual harassment lightly and think it's all fun and games and to some extent even "macho". Filmmakers are still using that formula to sell movies.

@@shubhramayuri6917 While I agree with all the above points, this is simply not true - "It was a hit because it catered to disrespectful and degenerate men who take sexual harassment lightly"
It was a hit because many many people connected with it, however wrong it may be.

@@manish236yes, and yet they felt a connection because they were disrespectful and degenerate boys and men who took sexual harassment as a joke. That cannot be denied. It's worse if it was so normalised that it was scene taken as a joke or a gag. Of course, I'm sure some men or boys felt uncomfortable because they were taught it to be wrong but it seems majority of them weren't like that. At least let's not be denial

It kinda feels weird to see all the snippets of the matlab kuch bhi to be mostly between men and women. And these kinda themes still goes on and attempted by some directors of our country till today. Hope they understand soon😅

The main source of entertainment for majority of Indians(which include 90%) is movies and saas bahu serials. They have grown up watching and admiring whatever movies were made and see the actors as super human or even give them god like status( in the south) . They mostly know Hindi or their regional language, so they do not have much exposure. Their likes are simple and not going to change and these movies makers are usually same perverts and talentless and mint money out of them. They cater to these people and it is unlikely this is going to change. The telugu male audience is another level of creep and perverse. You wouldn't believe the way they talk to women even today. Not the rural or illiterate ones. These are the educated and well to do majority.
