Colour vibrancy is something I've been missing too. While I think World is beautiful, it always feels quite grey and washed out to me, same thing with Rise to an extent. I often find myself using/wanting to use reshade to manually add more colour and contrast. Fingers crossed for Wilds being a bit more vibrant..!! The trailer has me hopeful so far. 🤞
Art style/art direction > Graphical fidelity any day World went for a more realistic look and rise went for a more stylised look and love the way both games look
I agree in that I really want the Vibrancy back. I want to get smacked in the face by the Color Palette upon loading into an Area, looking at all the different colors that manage to suggest details in a resolution that would normally make such details impossible. You wanna know whats also really Vibrant, especially in the upcoming expansion? The critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, which you can try out with the Free Trial? It includes the Basegame, the award-winning Heavensward Expansion and the massive Stormblood Expansion, allowing you to play up to level 70 with no restriction on playtime, and all of your progress gets carried over if you decide to buy the game!
my favourite moment in the reveal trailer when I first saw it was how beautifully colourful Rathalos looked when he flew into frame dude is ORING with worldborne being undersaturated with the exception of a few monsters and most of risebreak's maps being full of blank, bland grey or green walls to facilitate wall climbing, we desperately need pretty colourful maps and monsters again
You honestly summed up my thoughts perfectly, and the fact that this is early footage makes me incredibly excited for what it'll look like when development is finished.
HEYYOOOO!!!!!! ITS YA BOY!! Edit: I am happy with how things are looking for wilds, and I must agree with you. Even though World was my first game and intro to the series, I am currently playing Gen Ultimate and World doesn’t have as many vibrant colors, but with wilds and from what we’ve seen, I’m as hopeful as you are, and the main opinion is the same.
@@ArcVTuber it really does doesn’t it, not to mention it was mainly because of a few reasons 1: I wanted to play with my friend. 2: I wanted to fight some of the monsters that were only in that game. And 3: there were multiple villages. Also I’ve not even gotten to Najarala.
Yes, this. I agree about the palettes of previous titles, but I'm not so sure about the trailers for wilds. While the terrain does seem quite vibrant - the monsters themselves seem a bit on the realistic grayish/brownish side. For now. They should show more monsters, prolly.
I honestly felt this way too, my first game was tri, but the first monster hunter i fully completed the main story for was rise and sunbreak. I started playing world recently and I 100% agree, it just feels a bit too earthy for me and lacks that colourful kick the other games have. Also, when it comes to gameplay, I hope they reimplement the actual tracking process, but keep the combat the same speed or even a little slower to rise.
Also, get rid of the clutch claw, unless you use it like an alternate wirebug instead of that abomination from world (I really dislike iceborne clutch claw)
I am happy with how the trailer looks, i like dark color palettes in games (Cough Dark souls Bloodborne cough) but i think MH looks best with vibrant and lively colors, and i think the trailer definetly delivers.
I don't mind either way, honestly. I've been sitting around doing nothing in World more than once, so as long as we get this level of immersion I'm happy. Details and environment are more important than colouring for me. I don't dislike the more vibrant style though.
I would love if the riding system is developed and there’s a style of hunting based on it like a Calivary play style where we can fight on our mounts like in Elden Ring but more improved or like Stories 2
From images of older titles that I saw the vibrant colors really caught my eye. Everything was more distinct and stood up in a good way. I´ve seen a video where someone added a more vibrant filter to World and it looked a bit better. I wouldn´t mind Rise´s artstyle as it does the job. World´s graphic fidelity is what I really want. It just makes the "arena" so much more interesting and adds personality through small additions. However when I saw the teaser I wasn´t very confident that we will get that fidelity because of how the Hunter and Mount looked when a lightning stroked. They both turned in to a similar shade of grey. Then when watching other´s reactions Rurikhan mentioned how it was backed in engine like that video with Lagiacrus in World. Since then my worries for the game have vanished. I know graphics aren´t that important but when you make such a big and loved improvement it would be nice to have it as a standard. I don´t want the MH devs to chase the newest graphics, just to keep Worlds as they are more then enough for today´s gaming scene. All in all we get another すごいゲーム in 2025.
One thing that also made me love this franchise is the soundtrack and monster theme songs, i love just to drive around blasting a full Monster Hunter soundtrack, the orchestra playing is out of this world, and i really respect and admire how they come with banger after banger with the songs.
I really like the more vibrant colors. I love the realism over the cartoony/drawn look like Stories and Rise but in the end I’m not as excited about the world. I’m excited to see how the monsters interact with it, I feel without good monster/environment interaction that it doesn’t matter how good the world looks, it’ll still feel bland. I know Wilds will deliver though, the trailer showed a lot of stuff I’m really exited for.
@@ArcVTuber They honestly do, the realism I want isn’t the dark color, it’s the detail on monsters. The dark colors made some areas in world seem gloomy when it shouldn’t have been. Just on artstyle alone, if they get a sweet spot with monster detail and vibrant color then I’m happy
Gotta agree, wilds looks amazing and i really do love how the older games look, but even though i can't wait for wilds i'm even more exited for stories 1's remaster, i'm also playing through GU for the first time and its amazing
Imo MHW/IB had a near perfect balance between Graphics and Artstyle. The combat and bosses movesets were flashy enough to be surprising and gorgeous and the graphics were realistic enough to make everything feel grounded and tangible like the actual movement of the hunter and the realistic naturalistic environments of world I do hope Wilds takes that of World and mixes it with a small amount more of the beautiful aesthetic of Rise/SunBreak to add a tiny bit more pop into the overall presentation of the game. Btw Rise absolutely blew me away with how gorgeous it looked graphically on a system that is weaker than most toasters (JK but Rise/SunBreak looks phenomenal)
I wish they brought back the blood splatter. Slicing a monster in Rise and especially World felt, looked and sounded like hitting concrete. Also make resource management matter again
Visually wilds is exactly what I wanted, my only request on top of that is to bring back the mist, the old gen 1/2 swamp maps are some of my favourites for a reason, I want mist back goddammit
Hell yeah i can completly agree i want more saturation and color! i would also love for them to keep the weapons like rise please. Oveerall im happy with the initial trailer and cannot wait to see more from them.
I've felt similar things before about the visuals in World vs older games, but I could never quite articulate what it was. Older games felt slightly more animated and had this really unique style that carried through whether the games were on playstation 1 or 3ds, whether it was 720p, 1080p, 4k, whatever. World leaned in to a more realistic artstyle that, while beautiful, I think just didn't quite hit that bullseye mark with the same charm and unique fantasy from the older games. Rise tried to pivot back and had a much more animated style (partially because of the technical limitations of the switch no doubt) but that resulted in things like really beautiful and unique effects with things like fire. They often have this artistic, almost paint-like quality that just looks so pretty to me, in comparison to World that just looks like real fire (which again looks fantastic, but it just doesn't give me that same feeling). I don't know if I can really say if Wilds is that bullseye that I'm hoping for based on just the one teaser, honestly the lighting makes it kind of difficult in most shots to tell and the graphics are subject to change over development. However, based on how the Monster Hunter team has made things in the past, I have full faith that they will make this game beautiful and fun, no matter what direction they go in!
things I would like in the next monhunt (focus on aesthetics and similar); layered armor and weapons are released early and with little or no material expenditure (or are unlocked just by making the equipment); option to play with a palico (like Meowscular) or as a wyverian (without being a separate armor); improved pigmentation selection, being able to manually choose which parts will be painted; being able to activate or deactivate parts of armor like being able to choose whether the Defender helmet will be open or closed, certain armors have a mantle or not, etc.; being able to change the color of any weapon; modify the weapons of monhunt World so that they are not just iron/bone weapons with some fur or fluff:
I've been begging to play as a wyverian since MH 4, which by the way if I remember correctly unlocks armor customization since rank 5 of low rank, rainbow color and all, sadly playing as a felyne will be something independent of your character because of how they work both mechanically and in lore, but that's the best excuse to bring back and update the prowler mode from MH genU.
Ik this is off topic but would you do a video checking out frontier monsters because not all of them are crazy and a good portion of them can come to mainline
I'm looking forward to the combat and monster combat. Especially nergigante if this takes place years after world I want thie nergigante to be a true elder dragon killer.
saying " I PREFER X OVER X is literally subjective , i'm 100% sure WILDS graphics and color will look pretty much similar to WORLD but much more dynamic mix with RISE aesthetic for the hunters. considering that WILDS is aiming for immersion and has the same team that made 4U and world, they'll keep it mostly as close as WORLD.
The purpose of the stories games were to add lore to the monster hunter world so I hope to see that same lore in wilds even if its some thing small like a npc saying they have been to a rider village
@@monocasualzari it is softcanon, meaning that everything that does not actually contradict any already stablished info becomes canon. In fact, Riders themselves have been referenced in the past of the series outside from Stories, so they do exist in the world.
