Interestingly enough. The show still has blueprints of the Pilot found throughout it. The Picture of Robotnik used in the Magic Hassle for the Mobium Bill looks almost identical to the face he makes in the target dummy test. And a good chunk of pilot footage was used in Untouchable Sonic. But in addition to that, some of the general design is familiar. Elements of SSSSS Squad (the entire opening section and meeting), Lovesick Sonic (The Egg-O-Matic Tunnelizer sequence), and even Blank-Headed Eagle (the Robot piloted by Robotnik and Coconuts is similar to the ones he uses to make a Robot Factory). Was also a nice touch to see the Checker Board Wrecking Ball, kinda makes me sad it never showed up in the series.
@@luiluiruirui In the Episode "The Magic Hassle" Robotnik takes over the Mobius Mint, and begins printing Mobium Bills with his face on them. The Mobium Bill has the exact same face he makes in the Pilot; right before Sonic hits him with a pie.
Wow. I didn’t know this show had a unaired pilot. I do recognize the scene at 2:16, which I believe I have seen from the DVD series for the end credits.
There were also 2 clips that were used in an episode for a scene where Scratch and Grounder are watching TV. Specifically the clips at 1:18 to 2:15 and 3:02 to 3:27
It’s funny because the way Jim Cummings is doing it here it’s sounding a lot more like Pete, where is in Satam he’s a lot more sinister and almost scary sounding, I guess it shows that he could’ve played both versions easily🙂
Here’s a few of my notes on Proto-AOSTH 0:52 Pretty sure this scene takes place in Green Hill Zone or Emerald Hill Zone. 1:14 The Sonic Villains Q&A was right on the money of Scratch & Grounder being somewhat indestructible, The "Toon Force" is strong with these two. If you don’t know what "Toon Force" is, Watch Death Battle. 3:02 I thought he couldn’t swim, I guess the show’s creators didn’t get the memo! 5:38 Is that Hill Top Zone? 5:56 I know there wasn’t any sound to this, but I could definitely read the Doc’s lips! Translation: I... HATE... THAT... HEDGEHOG!!!!!
One of the first songs is The Teddy Bear's picnic. It was also used in one of the levels for Banzo Kazooie. I remember it as the theme song for an old radio drama called Big John and Sparky.
As much as I both love and respect the late Long John Baldry, I think it would have been just as cool, if not cooler, if they got Mr. C to voice Robotnik in this series as well.
Yeah, that's right! Happy 30 years to Aosth! And the 30 year Anniversary is why I'm rewatching every single episode on its respective 30 year Anniversary! The most recent Aosth episode that I rewatched was "Pseudo Sonic", which originally aired on September 10, 1993. The Anniversary for that was yesterday (Sunday, September 10, 2023). The next episode that I'm gonna rewatch is "Over The Hill Hero, which originally aired on September 13, 1993. 1993 Super Mario Bros went into the big screen and it flopped and Sonic got his own cartoon show well he got two cartoon shows. Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog and Sonic Satam.
What I find interesting is the excessive use of Dr. Robotnik’s mustache humor. I can’t be the only one thinking this right? Like it’s quite frequent for a seven minute portion of a pilot. I don’t know I’m probably overthinking it but it’s quite interesting.
I think some of the volume of the music should be lowered (mainly robotniks theme in the beginning) but it's still a good imagining of what it would be with music and sound effects
Remember that one episode of Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog where an evil witch kidnaps Sonic's sister and Sonic and Tails have to go through the witch's lair?
4:30 Finaly! Tails started to "Believe in himself" and did something useful (The Tails of AoSTH Isn't clever and courageous like the modern or classic Tails And just now, i see that Tails is the classic)
So I have a theory. Early years content for Sonic showed him capable of swimming but it is later stated that he can’t swim, also adding on the fact that he is afraid of water. My theory is that Sonic used to be a good swimmer but Labyrinth zone scarred him for life…so now, if he can avoid water, he will.
The scene with Robotnik informing his robots about destroying Sonic in the pilot is re-purposed in the first official episode “Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad” and the scene where Robotnik tried to crush Sonic, only to be crushed by his invention himself, is re-used for the ending credits sequence in the show.
The credits have a bit of the pilot I always wondered if it was from a episode then I thought it was just something fun to add but no I am a terrible person for thinking such rude thoughts

Pretty sure the voice lines came with the pilot.
Usually a pilot looks worse than the final product as a prototype.
This one is a best animation nomination by comparison to the cartoon.
