Oh but at least some of the "new" characters are returned cut ones, like Lei, Anna, Julia, Armor King and Kunimitsu. Literally dropped the game cause they managed to cut my favs.

Yea T6 is customization peak. You had four parts of the body to alter; upper body (top), waist (bottom), feet (shoes), arms (gloves) plus somewhere around 4-6 unique costumes per character that you could mix n match. Even the silly and wacky customs were also less generic and fit more to the specific character or body type.
Since TT2 its been a downgrade. We lost two areas to customize (feet, arms), everything got more generic and boiled down to female vs male, and we basically are lucky to get more than 2 costumes per character.
Hopefully T8 does better but honestly I don't think it's a priority for them. Or at least, what they think is good is drastically different than what fans think.
@@chronorogue863 4-6? That's wild. I'd say it's more like 2-4. Ik right now off the top of my head for a fact alisa only has two outfits to choose from. And don't bother trying to mix n match them - they look ridiculous together.
Saying t6 customization is 'peak'? Maybe for tekken's standards. it definitely had it's flaws. I'd prefer tag 2's universality over the mishap that is Alisa's t6 customization options.
And we lost a lot more than just two areas for customization, but that was another problem with t6's customization; it was terribly inconsistent. I'm fairly certain lili was the only character in the game with a 'neck' customization category.
@Nædrin Alisa and Lars were added in the "Blood Revolution" arcade update of T6 before console release and thus had less costumes. Almost everyone else had more costumes and customization choices then them.
For example, Nina for comparison she had her two defaults, a nurse outfit (though this one counted as both a top and bottom), her Death by Degrees outfit, a motorcycle outfit, and outfit that alternated between a design her of T3 top and a nobles outfit (so 5-6). Another example Julia had her two defaults, an additional native american outfit, a cowgirl look, a button up and/or vest look, and a traditional kenpo outfit (5-6). This the case for 90% of the roster and unlike T7s generic costumes, they were accurately fitted to the model so they didn't look awkward af.
T7 for comparison has 1 default, a usually classic outfit that used to be the standard 2P, and maaaybe two unique costum outfits. So you are getting at least 2 less ouftis, not even taking into account the loss of two custom sections (foot, arm). Everything else in there is generic t-shirts and badly fitted outfits.

Also disagree about mixing and matching, there lots of combination that looked fine. Not everything clearly because some just clashed but enough to be creative, rather than the bland generic choices in TT2 and T7. And yea, I meant peak for Tekken customization not fighting games in general. I think Soul Calibur does better currently and so did Virtua Fighter when it was around.
I'd still take more options than less, I don't care about inconsistent when you keep losing additional options in the same mode every game. The only redeeming part of T7s customization is that the PC version has mods.
Tekken 6 had the customization. A shame it started to get worse after that because the variety was incredible.

@Dante Ryujin Agreed, past Tekken games were absolutely fantastic as they had heaps of content especially in the home ports, Tekken 7 is absolutely starved of content for single player (No Survival, No Team Battle, No 9 Stage Arcade Mode, Ghost Battle Lite) but nooooooo, lets waste more development money trying to appeal to sweaty tryhards who cry to Harada on Twitter every time they can't get a cheap easy win because they can't do 8 DORYAHs in a row or they get upset because their opponent had the audacity to pick the character they don't like because they have to actually work for that win.
@Dante Ryujin it ended up being the most successful tekken by far for a reason. Idk what you mean by being more enjoyable for more people.
@Dante Ryujin Tekken Force in 7 would be absolutely fantastic, I mean they've already got the models for Tekken Force and G-Corp Soldiers as well as those soldiers that tried to attack Jin in Souq plus they could always through in a Generic Jack Unit too.
eSport and Online Warriors have been spoilt rotten for the past 3 years with 4 seasons worth of updates and balancing patches to make their game the perfect competitive title, it's about time Namco Bandai should work on providing more single player content because right now I'm only playing Tekken 7 for whenever an enticing new mod shows up or they release a new character for me to try on Treasure Battle and then get bored.
The whole video was nostalgic but when the song plays at 5:44 it hits you hard. Tekken has come a long way it's insane. These outfits, the songs, and the stages are only small parts of what made Tekken a game that we love and will remember till the end of time
Ikr, TT1 was truly my first ever tekken game and i loved it, listening to it reminded me of the PS2 days not just for tekken, for other games too
It's really cool and fascinating seeing all of these things in modern day graphics
Tekken 7 should release all these as DLC packs

@@MrBlackboy21ful when people start nagging the devs about implementing fan made stuff into their game, the devs dont like that, coz then they're worried about legalities. They dont want to deal with potentially having to compensate the fan-maker. That's why Capcom Ceased the fan made roll-back modder, and it's why all Japanese game keep getting mad whenever we ask them about rollback
Seeing Anna and Nina in their tekken 3 skins is really satisfying
All the memories came flooding back to me thanks to all these costumes. I experienced my childhood and teenage years all over again with the customizations and mods from a game I play in my adulthood. Thank you for this video. Excellent work!

Feng's 2p suit from T5/T5DR is one of my all time favorite outfits, but the mod looks quite awful on him, to be honest.

@@juhadexcelsior Yep that's pretty good, can get annoying when you can't mix match certain things. Also wish we remove established patterns on certain pieces.EX: the floral pattern on Seong Mina's sets.

That Tekken 6 Lili outfit, which I *really* wish was in Tekken 7, was designed by Oh! great, the lead artist of Tenjho Tenge which explains why it's so fanservice-y. I know Lars and Jin had Tekken 6 outfits designed by Masashi Kishimoto and CLAMP, respectively. Bamco had a thing for a couple of years when they'd have manga artists design a few outfits for characters in Tekken and Soul Calibur, or even design whole characters in the case of Soul Calibur 4, though I've no idea if they've done that in Tekken 7.
If we get Another CLAMP Collaboration, give us a Card Captor Sakura Costume for the Females.

Honestly, regardless of the fanservice-y ness it has, I always loved that outfit so much. It just looked so aesthetically pleasing, and I thought it went really well with Lili’s beautiful and graceful style. That’s what I think at least.(And I’m female)

@@ubergamer2010 Aside from Nina's bikini, the Williams sisters were both presented as deadly forces in Death by Degrees and not used primarily for sex appeal. Tekken 3 handles this very well, too, for them, Xiaoyu, and Julia.

Marshall as his son Forest looks really good, and I really miss Marshall’s facial hair. Some other costumes you could’ve done for him were Forest Law’s linen Kung Fu clothes, the Tekken 1 jumpsuit, and his Tekken 5 gold/black/red battle clothes.

Wow, I love it that someone made and you included here the P2 casual T2 Kazuya costume that reappeared NOWHERE, and T3 Jin's skin colored jacket that was also in first tag. Easily my most missed gear.

Jin's Tekken 6 prototype outfit needs the gloves from his Tekken 4 throwback outfit but with the textures of the Tekken 6 gauntlets.
I just want Yoshimitsu's T4 outfit, that insect design was cool as hell.

These are so cool! It's sad that we can't get a costume pack or something for Tekken 7! King randomly got his Tekken 2 look and Jin & Xiaoyu got their T4 look but that was it! Maybe if they do a Season 5 we could get costumes & Offline modes rather than just characters and stages? :O

I’m sad I wasn’t able to grow up with any of the games, only got to play tekken 7 for a month, and that was if. But ever since then, I’ve been obsessed. Hope to play it once more in the futur.
Great mods! You missed Nina's T2 purple outfit with the yellow sash, the green camouflage jumpsuit in T2, the yellow jumpsuit from T5, her business suit from T6, and some more I think. I'm still waiting for Namco to give us the black cocktail dress from Death By Degrees or that other outfit she wore in BV.

all the characters and players of Tekken must be friends and live in peace (this is especially shown by the scene with the beach, where everyone meets together and just have fun at the sea enjoying life to the music of the poolside, it's like an anime).
