It’s pretty simple. HDMI from computer to TV. Ethernet cable from wall to the switch. Then connect Ethernet from switch to TV and from switch to computer. That’s it.
I've seen similar examples of MoviePoster and the setups use a portrait mounted TV, since this is driven by a PC, why a TV, won't a simple Computer screen work - is it just a matter of the size - 55" display. If you have a smaller wall area to use - a 24" monitor works as well? Assuming you can find a small frame edge monitor.
Great video. I have a LG oled c9 in my theater, used for casual viewing. Would like to use that for this setup. Will it work ok if TV is mounted normally (horizontally). Also will this app run om Windows 11, which my Intel nuc is running? Thanks 👍
Nice video! Thanks! This is really nice eye candy. I've been thinking about doing this for a while. I'd probably use a Sony. I have a couple of Sony TVs used outside my HT. What I like about them is they support being added to HomeKit, which allows me to control them via HomeKit automation. For example, if I turn a Sony TV on, HomeKit turns off the lights and dehumidifier in basement. Anyway, nice project. The one thing holding me back is I wonder how much I will actually use something like this. But certainly looks nice!
I turn it on once or twice a week. I definitely don’t have it on all the time. I’m sure people would though. I didn’t know that about Sony TVs. I’ll definitely have it added to control4 eventually.
Very nice, thank you for the detailed information!
Are you able to show how you have everything wired up/connected up?

Nice, thank you!
i don't have a proper home theater, but neverthless thanks for the video!!!
Thanks a lot!! I can’t get any of the trailers to work, what have you done to get them to work?
I barely got them to work. I have like 4-5.
Thanks for the video. Where did you find the Empire Strikes Back poster to set as the default? What folder was it in?

You can use any sized display you want. I selected 55 because it was the closest to a real poster size.
Very cool.

You can use the software in landscape mode, although the poster would be much smaller.
