    The correct water wheel to generator ratio is 1:2,5. Meaning you can connect 2 wheels to 5 generators and thus exploit them wheels to their maximum.

    It took me ages to figure out where to get Atlantum ore to finish the 'Victor' tier. When you get the Emergency Broadcast signal, you'll find it's coming from an area that is surrounded by Atlantum ore bodies. The pickaxes and Mark 1 mining machine won't make a dent in it. The same mining charges that you used to blow a hole through it to gain access to the ship will also let you mine the ore, if you bring along a bunch of them. Each explosion adds around 20-30 pieces of Atlantum ore to your inventory. The ore that can be blown up has a speckled green appearance, while the solid Atlantum ore bodies have a solid, shiny green, metallic surface.

  • @maxcross5454
    @maxcross5454 Год назад +4

    Most of these tips are in tutorials and dirrectly teached by game, but repeating them in a nice and structured way is still usefull.
    One thing I always do in the games like this is to make sure doing certain things are always as comfortable as possible.
    If I ended up with a full hotbar of random things where I need to reach all the way to F10 to select something I want to place - that's when I know there is a problem.
    If something is too difficult - I simply use it less often. So, researching how you can improve user experience is always usefull.
    For example (just my personal preferences):
    * Go in controls settings and bind the last keys of secondary hotbar to Z, X, C, etc, and then bind your primary tools for them (mold, pickaxe, scanner, etc). Let the first number keys be for buildings, no need to clutter them with tools.
    * Bind a different "variations" of the building on the same key on different hotbars, and use CTRL + mouse wheel to switch between them. For example, I bound fast inserter, filter inserter and long inserter to 2 on hotbars 1, 2 and 3, and smelters and miners to 6 on hotbars 1 and 2. Now I can select fast inserter, and use CTRL + mouse wheel to switch to filter and long inserters.
    I wish that game allowed to bind several things on the same slot and switch between them without abusing multiple hotbars. Multiple hotbars could be usefull on it's own, and using CTRL + wheel is not as ergonomic as pressing a single key (+ you'll be left with a different hotbar selected).
    Like in satisfactory where you can press E to quick switch between similar items and hold E to show all variations in the wheel. Only - you must be allowed to choice for youself what to place in the slot, unlike in satisfactory where game decides for you. There is even a "swap variations" keybind in controlls settings bound to V, but I didn't found any use of it yet (maybe I'm missing something?).

      It's true that a chunk of these tips have descriptions in game. But after watching what were common discord questions for the first week. I actually even spoke to the mods/community managers about common issues. I felt it was worth it to try and put them into another consumable form :)
      Some good tips for hot bars! I definitely have my preferred setup as well. Some of that coming from my preferred setup in Satisfactory.
      I think you can also press Shift or Ctrl + # to quickly switch to that hot bar. My scatter brain approach never got too good at doing that though.
      I'm sure some of the future QoL updates will slowly improve upon the current state of the interface. Just a matter of when they have time to prioritize it!

    Another question: If you build multi-level factories what is your prefered ceiling height?
    It's an interesting question I dealed with over a year now. During the alpha it was first 4 (Assembler) than 5 (Trasher) but overhead lights not working with that. Than 6 but it still felt crammed and hoverpack not working anymore now I moved to 8 (including the ceiling) because I can split 8 in 2 x 4 and 3 (hence 4 with the ceiling) is the minimum height to move and for generators, container and even smelters.

    • @relyengaming
      @relyengaming  Год назад +1

      Obviously, this is something that can have a lot of opinions on form vs function.
      But my recommendation would be for production levels, aim for Hover pack height. That way you can still easily fly over and work on your factory with more ease.
      For pancake/sandwich floors (if you use them for belting), they maybe the 3-5 powerfloors in height.

  • @KneelB4Bacon
    @KneelB4Bacon 5 месяцев назад

    If you press "P" while standing on a Powered Floor (PC), you'll get a report on total power generation, accumulator Storage and whether or not you're meeting the needs of all your machines. There's a small cavern next to Victor terminal that already has a whole bunch of deactivated accumulators in them, already on a powered floor. If you connect your power floor to that one, you can re-activate about half of them without having to make a new power bank area from scratch. (and you can scan all the rest of the damaged ones).

      In the current state of the game it seems that monorail tracks can be incredibly long and clip through terrain. I used 4 pole points between Victor and the freight elevator but I reckon it could be accomplished in less connections. I was expecting to have to place Deep Rock Galactic length tracks so I massively overproduced the necessary items but it seems that one rail equals one connection, not one rail per unit of distance.
      Regarding monorail magnet, it only works when both ends of the rail are connected to depots. When you've unlocked the magnet you just need to be in jumping distance to hook onto it. You can't currently use them as ziplines to get to different areas If the rails aren't connected to depots, but you can just hover over the top and run along them anyway!

    I’m having issues where I’m continuously producing research cores and I’m having them being put into a core “plate” (forgot the name) and I’ve quite a tower now, reaching the ceiling soon, everything is powered, the assembler is producing cores, but for some reason, in my “unlock new tec” sheet, it says I’ve 0 new cores to use to unlock new tec with, even tho all the cores I’ve produced on my research core plate are brand new and unused, so I don’t understand

    • @relyengaming
      @relyengaming  Год назад +1

      Heya @blankaironcake! I think the "plate" term you are looking for is Core Composer.
      Based on what you've said, the most likely culprits are you previously had cores placed, activated techs, and removed the cores. This could cause you to be in a "core debt", and the cores won't increment until you have placed back all previously used cores. The UI would only show 0 cores available in this case until you caught back up.
      That said, patch 0.1.0f did correct the UI to show negative values. If you are on XBox/Gamepass, this update might lag a little behind as it awaits Microsoft Approval.
      Another reason, is your Core Composer is full, and the cores are going into the buffer inside the Core Composer. If you inspect the core composer, it might say "Tree Complete" and show extra cores sitting inside it.
      If it's neither of these cases, you might be encountering a bug that I'm unaware of. The official Discord (links in description) is a great place to ask.

    • @relyengaming

      The map is fairly large. One of the developers said it would take around 5000 hours to mine all the nodes in the game (3000 of that is just placing drills). I said then the first task is to dig out the entire map to find all the ore. To which the developer said is doable, but equally insane.
      So there is plenty of room for you to dig out however much you desire :) And this is just the first biome.

      As much as I'd love to share the trailer save, unfortunately it's on it's own beta branch of the game that was set aside for the Trailer. That said, I know the developers are totally focused on Quality of Life fixes for the next update. So, be sure you give them your feedback on their feedback site. It will definitely help them prioritize what goes into the next update.

    • @relyengaming
      @relyengaming  Год назад

      I know they originally developed the game using controllers only (as they were aiming for XBox support and didn't want controllers to be an afterthought). That might of had some influence on the initial key bindings. I guess I was fortunate the key bindings didn't bother me too much. But, it's good they had the option to adjust them. I'm sorry you have a hand injury, I can understand how repetitive hand movements would be frustrating in that case.
      As for mining a lot, you "shouldn't" have to left click mine too much. Drills + the M.O.L.E. should help alleviate most hand mining. Unless you are doing some crazy voxel customizations like me using the pickaxe for perfection :P
      That said, there are some things the game may not have properly introduced. And it's good you gave your feedback, definitely the best way to help out an early access game. I know the developers are very open to dialog and listening to folks.
