Correction. He had to make sure the passenger was OK because his job was his main concern. It would be anyone's and rightfully so. As far as racing goes shit like this happens all the time. They have different levels of experiences that cost more or less depending on what you want. This one was called the "Ricky Stenhouse special", it's 2 laps at speed then spinning on your own and slamming into the outside wall. It cost an extra $500 dollars but it's well worth it.

All things considered, and he likely was taught/prepared/warned slightly in the mini instructions they give new drivers like him about how to do it, but he still did an honestly okay correction/save, spinning it mostly back into place and only slightly tapping the wall, so pretty decent work there.
As much as the RWRE is garbage, I do appreciate the drivers concern for his passenger, and I will say that it’s not the drivers fault, I think it’s the car because it may have not been properly tuned nor checked.
At different times I did the Rusty Wallace ride along with driver Chase Austin and the solo, both at Iowa Speedway. Chase was a super guy and fast enough to get a taste of what it must be like at full race speed. The solo car was definitely capable of letting you feel the tires eat. When I thought I might be doing something wrong and tried a corner just a little differently the next thing in my earpiece was "46, you are WAY to high!" By that time I was well aware of it. I was busy hoping the tires had enough grip to keep me out of the turn 2 wall.

When booking a session be aware of what you're signing up for. First off the engines are not cup engines but instead a basic 604 late model engine. You are not driving anywhere need the speeds portrayed to you by the company. Also know that the equipment is very old and cars that have been wrecked & discarded by former teams. Often there are only a couple of mechanics available both at the shop and especially at track events to maintain the cars. These mechanics often work 15 to 20 hour days while at an event being forced to work on upto 20 cars. Shotty equipment and little maintenance results in a great deal of equipment failure that causes accidents. The ride along drivers often have very little in a race car as they usually bring in local drivers paying them $16 per hour to do the rides. Do your homework and always read the fine print & reviews.
The driver was also worried cuse if he has not completed 5 weekends as a driving instructor giving rides like this then he has to pay for the car if he wrecks it. I know cuse I was a driving instructor that gave ride alongs around nascar tracks and its a 5 weekend contract where I have to prove I won't wreck the car and If I did I pay for it until after 5 then their insurance pays. So that is why that driver is so scared and now they make the passenger wear full suit with hans device in passenger seat and racing gloves. As a driving instructor I just wore my personal race suits helmet cool suit and hans and my personal cool suit box cuse their ride along cars didn't have them and my custom molded ear buds and push to talk system I brought my personal one as well the car harness and of course the harness mic boom and connectors in my helmet. Well at least he can say he contact with the wall. Wonder why it looked around ? Took my laps around Charlotte Motor Speedway kept saying closer to the wall lol.
Holy shit, I'm replying to a 2 year old comment... Anyway, the car's power is obviously lacking, so they have a restrictor plate. Also, the racing experience centers are out to make money, so it's only natural they don't have good tires. I'd say they had a few thousand laps on those tires, maybe more.
Stupid move on the driving schools part . Why did this guy have his arm against the door? He’s lucky he didn’t break his arm when the car hit the wall. I went to Buck Bakers driving school once Buck said if your driving along put your arms on your lap and don’t grap onto anything. not like this guy was doing . If you’re grabbing a rollbar inside the car especially by the door and it crashes say goodbye to your hand.

I spent 10 hours a day driving these cars qith passengers qith a 2 hour break on Saturdays and Sundays and my cool suit I would bring saved my life during the summer time the other driver didn't Bring his and had to get out after 5 hours and switch qith his back up driver. And we are allowed to go 170 at big nascar tracks in the ride along cars as well I proved it with my phones go's while giving the second ride of the day which is always the fastest most of the time and I worked for rusty Wallace racing experience best job I ever had bit never lasts long as a driver maybe a year and they move on to the next list of drivers in line waiting to be a paid driver for the ride alongs but I loved it and got to run thousands of laps on alot of different track and mascar tracks and dirt tracks giving rides in a sprint car and latwmodel
I can tell you exactly what happened... Aint got no gas in it
Well at least he can say he contact with the wall.
Wonder why it looked around ?
Took my laps around Charlotte Motor Speedway kept saying closer to the wall lol.
This is all that happens when you are on the Danica Race Experience.
meanwhile, i bet you couldnt even get a race car out of pit lane
ouch! dude what happened? I never seen a car break loose like that mid corner on an experience before...
RgRacingTv he just lost it.
they're stock cars.. so anything can happen?!?!
RgRacingTv maybe the left rear tire blew?
Holy shit, I'm replying to a 2 year old comment... Anyway, the car's power is obviously lacking, so they have a restrictor plate. Also, the racing experience centers are out to make money, so it's only natural they don't have good tires. I'd say they had a few thousand laps on those tires, maybe more.
side swiped the car he just passed
Wow the old Gateway. Rough track back then. This was before safer barriers aswell. Maybe the year 2000?
No firesuit on the rider? That’s crazy.
I did this at the Richard Petty track in Orlando, minus the wall part. It was fun.
Why was dude not in a suit?. Both not wearing gloves? Car snapped around real fast like he broke an axle.
Crazy there was barley any turn in or throttle and the car gave out. Maybe a flat tire?
Horrible idea Rusty gave his son blinky a driving job.
I wonder what happened, almost seemed like a right rear went down cuz he wasn't carrying that much momentum
HELL NO IM NOT OK!!! I’m playing dead!!! Cha ching! 💰
rusty leans over and asks the man are your underwear ok?
I think everybody secretly hopes their experience will be the wreck
The car looks unstable as f to be fair
The true NASCAR experience
We're sorry! But we are glad you signed that waiver!
Hell yeah, no apologies, that's well worth the money!
That car was really loose for what it's job is supposed to be. Who's in charge of maintaining setups on these things?
Not going to lie, guy kinda looks like a discount Greg Biffle
no firesuit, no gloves, no hans device... bad!!!
