  • HP Notebook 15-db0088ca Disassembly and system board tour
    This laptop is what I would describe as a lower tier model of the HP Notebook 15 series laptop. Though it is limited for upgrades, it is perfectly functional for general use in 2020, especially with the addition of a Solid State Drive. Hopefully this video can help demonstrate how to disassemble for service.
    **Note: if you own this laptop and find that it is running slow, consider upgrading to a Solid State Drive before buying something else. The 5400rpm Hard Drive the unit shipped with is likely the cause. I plan to install an SSD and use the HDD for secondary storage in another device.
    Basic Specs:
    Windows 10 Home 64-bit
    AMD A4-9125 Dual Core @ 2.3GHz CPU
    4GB DDR4 RAM
    AMD Radeon(TM) R3 Graphics

    That was glue you broke through for the screws. If you remove the rubber pad more carefully that film will come off with the rubber pad and allow you to stick them back on more easily

    Yeah, you don't have to lie. I bought one to have just for a backup and it was a piece of sh*t. It was slooooooooow but I knew it was going to be when i bought it but I really didn't think it would be that slow. Don't plan on doing much multi-tasking with it. If you open one program or app, you are going to make sure you finish up what you're doing on that particular app before you go and open up another app because if you don't it will sit there in a frozen state a until it gets ready to move forward and you are so right about the upgrading or replacing parts. Not all of them are like this. My envy has the 2 screw small rectangle where you can access the ram and wifi card. Makes life way easier. I basically boils down to you get what you pay for. Guys if you see one on sale, make sure you look it over really well. I would even do some research on it first because they put these things out knowing that people will see the price and buy it because it's so cheap. It's definitely cheap alright. You guys have a great day. Stay safe. God Bless. Thanks for the info Haiste Repair.

      I agree that researching before you buy is important. I wouldn't recommend this laptop myself, unless it was the only option or better option over something worse. But, any consumer is free to make their own choice. I will always talk about it, but I try not to judge. Thanks for watching :)

      @@HaisteComputerRepair Best way to be. I mean if you want to keep a spare around incase you have a major malfunction with your main, it's ok but as a long term solution, especially if someone is doing a lot of multi-tasking then look around first. The only reason I got this one because it was a budget laptop on clearance which means I got it for practically nothing so I shouldn't be judging either but I do a good bit of writing. You guys have your videos, I have my words. Even though people don't read anymore because they can come here and watch what I write about and there's nothing wrong with that. I even get a lot of my ideas from streaming sites. I just think that writing can get way deeper than a video can sometimes. With writing, I have a lot of notes all over the place. If you're in a hurry to pull up your notes or a video, a certain website while still running your writing software, it freezes up and it freezes up a lot. Hey thanks for sharing your opinion with me. There aren't many places where you can go and still have a conversation about a subject. I'm through with channels like that. All this negativity and arguing over the dumbest things ain't worth it and it's dragging the entire world down. Stay safe my friend, Keep on doing your thing man and God Bless.

      @@gamecockmike175 Thanks! My channel is small and I find it interesting to talk to people here. Basically it's a haven compared to other social media like Facebook. No arguing or spreading of negativity, just people wanting to work on their devices. I have sold to a few writers and they are about as verbose as you. I used to spend time writing as well, more so in university. Now this is more my creative outlet. But, I will really enjoy a good poem or piece of writing when it comes my way :)

      @@HaisteComputerRepair It didn't go so well sadly, device won't turn on anymore (must have messed the battery up in the process, may not be reseated properly). But that's ok, believe it was a good learning experience. Think I'll take the upgraded parts back out and if they still work put them into a ThinkPad T470 which should be much easier to service.
      Opening the device up was a massive pain (scoring the top from the bottom mostly), and I wasn't able to get the top flush with the bottom once I put everything back together for some reason.

    • @HaisteComputerRepair
      @HaisteComputerRepair  Месяц назад

      @@dnj79 Sorry to hear that. I don't really like the design of these HP notebooks. Not very sturdy or service friendly. The T470 will need to be scored along the palmrest as well, but it's just the bottom panel and some screws. The T470s variant is even easier to open up.
