    In this video I show you our camp pantry/kitchen setup idea.
    This setup works best for us because it combines the food boxes and the camp kitchen in one portable, easily transportable unit.
    It is amazing how much time and effort we have saved by making this Stanley Fatmax toolbox into our portable camp kitchen. I hope that this has given you some ideas for your own setup.

    Exactly why I started looking at reviews for this toolbox - to turn it into camping kitchen storage. Thanks was helpful to see kitchen stuff rather than tools in there

    Been out camping on and off with one of these for a year. Top latch compartment starts to be my squirrel resistant pantry after one found my soft-sided cooler easy to get into for my chocolates.

    I have listened to most the reviews of DIY camping/chuck storage boxes. This concept is hands down the fastest to setup for ready access to the variety of cooking gear we like to have. The wheels and extension handle form a built-in dolly. I added a support pole under the hinged open lid of the top box, and added a ply panel for my two burner Camp Chef Stove to sit on. Adding additional covers of the various tiers, creates shelves that are convenient to set stuff on (yet offer EZ access to the storage areas they cover.
    As for weight, it all depends on your cooking gear. Cast Iron pot and pans are very heavy. I carry a small porcelain covered cast iron crock pot with lid. Yes, I also like the nested Stainless Steel cook kits. My griddle is a Coleman with drip channels and collection wells. It has superb heat distribution.
    Check this concept out. It is really amazing.

    Terrific idea. The only problem I see is lifting it in and out of the car, especially when filled with tucker could be pretty heavy.

      Dog ramp?

      Put a packing blanket over the back edge of the SUV or truck. Then slide it gently to the ground. Voila, ready to use. With two people, it is much easier to lower or lift. A ramp board is a helpful option.

      I have to empty it into IKEA bags and put it in on its side in my Yaris hatchback. So envious of the shot where it's upright in an SUV.

    Good idea, my only concern would be - I often want to get kitchen items from the car, and would have to lift the whole box, place it on the ground, just to get inside of it.

      Yes good point, this idea is more for that portablility option rather than something like an overland setup wherein the kitchen setup is fixed to the vehicle.

      @1theoleguy 3 года назад

      Yes, the unit has to be on the ground to slide it open. Just roll the whole unit to where you have set up your table , and then you won’t have to be chasing back and forth.

    Love this. Have to noticed any smells or concerns with the plastic not being BPA free ?

    • @ruggedlife
      @ruggedlife  2 года назад +1

      Cheers. No smells and no concerns at all. The food is stored in it's own container anyway so I am not worried about not being BPA free.
