Will never forget, 11 years old in the riverside with my dad and 7 year old little brother; Trezeguet adds to the first leg deficit immediately to make it 4-1 on aggregate. I turn to my Dad and say shall we just go home now? Will never forget the seriousness of how he told me to “keep the faith”. And the rest is history. Viva El Fulham.
Anybody else on the night rremember the way the atmosphere changed as the hammy end stood uo singing stand up if you still believe? Was in my teens and went with my dad to this game, amazing memory.
What a great team that was. It was like all the players were archetypes of what their positions should be and Roy Hodgkin had them playing simple, attractive football
This club will always be my 2nd team in Europe because as American this was the first time I saw an American score THAT type of goal in this big of a competition in Europe. I may have to get a Demspey Fulham jersey because whenever I see them on the streets they make me smile.
Unbelievable Goal Bobby Zamora, Gera 2x & Clint Dempsey. Fulham FC Winners Against Juventus In The Craven Cottages Stadium Score By 4-1 (AGG 5-4). Fulham FC Runner-up UEFA Europa League Season 2009-2010. Commentator : Jon Champions.
I don't support Fulham but have sen quite a few matches as a neutral.I wasn't at the Cottage for this but I have seen them play in every division. This game, and the context, 3-1 down in the away leg, concede a goal in under two minutes to be 1-4 down, just shows what a team can actually do. Everyone to man, was either at their best or pretty close to it. Rarely do you see almost all outfield players get a nine or above. Taking such a gut punch in the 2nd minute could have really destroyed a team's morale. Not with these guys. They destroyed one of the Greatest European clubs in the history of Football. Juve couldn't deal with Duff, Gera and Zamora. Yes Juventus were unlucky to get the red card because two other defenders were level with play and reasonably close to make an intervention, it was harsh, Fulham fans would argue that if it was the other way around. You still have to perform against the Italians, a nation famous for defending, no matter which team. Even more so when they are down to ten. Dempsey coming on with 20 minutes to go plus stoppage time was necessary as Juve had shut up shop to a certaim extent. The bar and post were hit during the seige of Stevenage Road. Then the chip, the effortless chip that was full of mental effort, precision - you couldn't have placed the ball better with both hands - was absolutely astonishing. I was watching it at home and my hairs on my neck stood up, as they do when I watch these highlights, which is over a dozen times. Best night in Fulham's history? It has to be right up there, especially with the context, the opponent. Let's hope Fulham can qualify for Europe again soon, maybe not this seaon but next.
He’s my favourite commentator. Everyone loves Peter Drury and don’t get me wrong I like him too…but there’s something about Jon Champion that I like more.
Dempsey’s goal. Amazing. Will never forget it.
Dempsey made me a Fulham fan when I first got into football in the US. My club!
Yup, America’s Premier League team. They don’t call em Fulhamerica for nothing.
Once Bruce Arena asked Dempsey,How'd ya do that? Dempsey said because he tries shit 🤣🤣🤣
You don’t know where he’s from, Dawg!
A core part of what made the Fulhamerica fanbase so big. Clint Dempsey was one of the best for the USMNT and he was in Fulham.

Damien Duff squaring up to Del Piero forever lives in my mind
I almost forgot about this Captain America golaso.. electric.
As an American and Fiorentina supporter, definitely was a treat to watch this

I lived next door to the Cottage when this happened. Didn’t get to go but watch it at the Cherry tree hotel.
Fuck it was amazing.

Amazing game from Fulham ❤
For those who realized that Smalling used to play for fullham
This Fulham team reminds me of Copa Libertadores 97 finalist Sporting Cristal of Peru. Eventually losing to Cruzeiro of Brazil in the final.
This is a true club, I hate that the owners so badly want it to be a tourist club
Goosebumps. Fulhamerica 🫡

Great memories 🙏🤍🖤
Jubilani was active before world cup wow
World Cup refs would say that wasn’t a handball the ball played the hand 😅
Sempre un piacere
couple of worldies that game jeez
YOU DONT KNOW WHERE IM FROM DAWG
Belo jogo
Get in fulham
That red was a little soft.
He was the last defender. In that scenario, a yellow becomes a red.
Clear red
Yes two others almost level, if it was the other way around, no Fulham fan would say Defo red card. Not one.
@@jacobpayne89I’m a Fulham fan and it looked like very little contact.
I remember that ref. Overly-officious. No wonder Cannavaro was laughing,
Red card is not clear
The second one was, disgraceful.
