Thank you for that, I really appreciate hearing alternative ideas, as opposed to the general consensus. There is no doubt that we will have understood some things incorrectly. This is evident from the many opposing views among the church. The church is still divided on many issues and yet we ought to be unified. This means there is more to learn, discern and understand. I shall now put my Berean cap on and read Romans again, with this position in mind.
Book of Romans is teaching the right way to walks in SPIRITUAL ETERNAL GOD CHRIST JESUS righteousness doctrine, this righteousness of God is your ACCESS to enter to the Most Holy Place of Tabernacle of God Eternal Kingdom with God reward. I'm curious if Zane Hodges is the first to come to this conclusion about Romans or if any other commentator historic or modern have the same view. Thanks
John 3:16 leads to John 5:24 everlasting life for believing the word of God, before and aside from the Cross. Ephesians 2:8 "saved" is only baptism saved from past sins.
Romans chapter 10 is Paul in the middle of explaining how Israel missed it. But you're right, it is saved from the wrath to come: their 70th week. We see in Rev 14 that 144,000 of them will be found worthy to escape GT as the MotB is being implemented.
If I’m understanding what he’s saying the people Roman’s 1 18 -32 are saved believers those people in those verses don’t seem saved eternally am I. Missing something here ??
No one escapes the vice list 28-32, and if the believer is a moralist, one who judges they condemn themselves. It’s one thing to condemn sin but another to judge sin. When the believer does that they end up condemning themself, and can come under God’s wrath (temporal wrath, anger). He who is without sin cast the first stone. Romans 2:1 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
I remember reading this along time ago, and then cruising through the end. And then when I read 2:1 it hit me right between the eyes~! This is something I need to continually check myself on.
@@simonskinner1450 Zane Hodges commentary on Romans. An examination of the epistle to the Romans turns up the surprising fact that after Rom 1:16 the Greek word for deliverance or salvation (soteria) does not occur again until Rom 11:11 and the verbal form of this word (sozo) occurs next at Rom 5:9-10. Thus the noun and verb are totally absent from Paul’s discussion of justification in chaps. 2-4, even though, on the traditional view, this is where they would most naturally appear. In addition, in Rom 5:9-10, the experience from which we are saved or delivered is specified as “wrath” (5:9). Although this word, too, has a traditional meaning (i,e., the wrath associated with hell), Paul’s epistle does not support this. In Roman’s WRATH is a manifestation of God’s TEMPORAL displeasure. This is clear from 1:18ff, and 2:5-8. Given the close proximity of 1:16 to 1:18, and in light of 5:9-10, we may conclude that in Rom 1:16 DELIVERANCE refers to being rescued, or “saved,” from the divine temporal anger that is so vividly described in Rom 1:18-32.
The popular A,B,Cs of salvation as espoused by Farag and others is very misleading as it adds Roman’s 10-9 to salvation from Hell. Isn’t that in essence adding works to simply believing and if so nullifying saving faith? I hope it is not so.
Bob you have stumbled on something I did some years ago, and found Romans 5-8 is only baptism. I have a Ytube video series 'Myths in so-called Christianity' for NT truth.
"saved" is not salvation, saved is saved from condemnation from Adam, there is no condemnation for those baptised in Christ, under grace with hope of eternal life.
Thank you Bob and GES, it goes to show that we all can continue to learn ! Blessings
Great message! Thank you for the overview of this book!
Awesome message! Thanks for posting! 😊

Does anyone know where this took place? And when?

In my teaching "saved" is baptised into the church reconciled to God, having the hope of salvation if they live by faith, all not of faith is sin.
