  • "Roots and Horizons," the Berkeley County 250th Commemoration history mural, and other Commemoration events and projects were made possible with funds and/or support received from Martinsburg-Berkeley County Convention & Visitors Bureau, MRB Foundation, Berkeley County Commission (formerly Berkeley County Council), Martinsburg City Council, Berkeley County Development Authority, BerkeleyWV250 Sponsorships (businesses/individuals) and a number of other community organizations, including the Berkeley County Roundhouse Foundation, Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation Board, General Adam Stephen Memorial Association, Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Libraries, Martinsburg-Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce, Berkeley County Historical Society and Main Street Martinsburg, among many others.
Comprised of seven panels, the 700-square foot public art project was painted by artist and Martinsburg High School alum, Lea Craigie-Marshall. Featured on the mural are jazz pianist Garland Lorenzo Wilson, gold medalist Vicky Bullett and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Hack Wilson, as well as panels devoted to history of The Arts, Industry, Agriculture and Aviation.
