I have the exact same shift knob. It’s great. I just got a M8X1.25 adapter then got a tap/die set. Just make sure you get a m8X1.25 die that is not a completely closed circle. To create new threads you need the one with the slit. You can add some threads easy with a cheap kit and get the knob facing the right way. I’ve done it twice now. EZ PZ Also how are your shift cables not rubbing on the plastic under them? I had to Dremel a ton of material so they wouldn’t rub. Do the new bushings take care of the clearance?
The reverse lockout engaged above 10 mph. If you can go past 5th when above 10 mph then you probably have a bad reverse lock out. If you were in the shifter assembly recently there’s a chance you lost the O ring that attached to the end of the plunger on the reverse lockout.
You pop the shift plate up and out with a plastic pry tool, that will get you to the shift assembly. Also to pull the whole console there are 2 screws in the console area, a screw under the cupholders and some bolts behind the side trim pieces that go up the sides of the radio.

Yes the new bushings also act as spacers!
Can you show the operation of going through the gears without the Spaceball. I think my reverse lock out isn’t engaging when i go into 5th

Is that the snabb short throw?
Yes it is. The whole kit and I optioned for the Delrin bushings
