  • Nobody has lived here for 150 years and I am digging up their stuff .
    This site was settled in the late 1700s and the family lived here for several generations up until the civil war era. All that is left now is the cellar hole, rock walls and the artifacts and relics in the ground and that is what I am here to find. I have not been here in about 5 years so it was like a new site all over again and I did very well. The ground was very responsive to my Fisher F19 metal detector and I had no problem finding things. Old buttons, buckles, spoons, tools and more easily detected and dug up. There is a lot of history here at this old NH homesite and I am glad I found what I did today. Metal detecting old places like this is always exciting and a pleasure to explore.

    Key hole cover 99% 🤞🙃,...I think 🤔. I've found a few in my town Oxford Georgia.

      could also be a draw pull, my parents had a china cabinet with that same pattern and size

    I'm assuming most folks get to walk into a field and start swinging!! But for us who do research and then have to actually find a cellar hole any find is awesome!! Thanks for sharing the hard work

    Not just wire is a support arm for a glass globe oil lamp shade. Usually white painted porcelain. Great find!

    Hi Charlie, here in Nova Scotia I find if the ground is fluid (very wet) I have trouble getting a good signal. Seems that the water interferes. Let the area dry for a few days and the signals are much more exact.

    it was just too early for charley ...just couldnt get his mind gears to mesh..he knows that was a key hole cover..Is that fisher a diff freq than when you were there last?

    WOW! A spoon bowl!! Nobody ever finds those! Seriously, If I couldn't find more than this guy I'd give up and sell all my detecting equipment. Pathetic.!
