Here's how to play Walk Of Life by Dire Straits, as written and played by guitar legend Mark Knoplfer.
In this tutorial video, we first look at how beginners can play this with 3 simple chords and no barre chords, using a capo trick. We then look at how the original is played, which is without a capo and using fingerpicking, rather than a pick.

The transpose button was the first thing I discovered when I initially entered ultimate guitar. Great advise here on this, Andy... 👍 It helps beginners so much to keep going and not to quit early due to not being able to play their favorite songs because they require the difficult chords.

Is that a wigan accent hiding under there?, that first "transpose" word at 1.04 was mint, im from the Northwest, and even though my accent has migrated through living in Austria and the South east of England for 35 years, my flat vowels pop up occasionally and grass me up! great video btw
