  • In episode 2 from a Rainforest in Scotland I photograph a magical oak tree that's festooned in bryophytes, and explore hidden valleys which ooze potential. A wonderful morning of woodland photography and pure enjoyment of nature.

Simon, couldn't help but notice the type of ball Meg was playing with, my dog also plays with this type of rubber ball. My vet has noticed that his teeth are noticeabley worn down from chewing it, please be careful. Oh and by the great photography. Regards Neil.

High Simon. What a lovely adventure wonderful woodland, nature at its lichen laden best. Makes me ache to be in Scotland. Great to hear the phrase SNAFFU, something often said by old sparks like myself . All the best to you and Meg.

Your love of woodlands always comes through in your work Simon, but also in your videos and the way you articulate your thoughts out loud. Coincidentally I just picked up a copy of Outdoor Photography today, for the first time in at least year, and to my delight you're featured in there. My mother-in-law had a quick skim through the magazine and went straight to your image with the rowan in the foreground and its red berries - as her favourite image.

Hi Simon, thanks for another great video. I am following you for years now due to the fact that I also love to be in the woods. Sadly my local forests are not as spectacular as the ones you have got on hand. BUT - the main reason to watch is the four legged black "monster" called Meg :-)). Keep on. Best wishes for both of you from Germany, Hans

Another inspiring video, and a beautiful location. Thinking of those moss-covered trees, I would love to see what you could conjure up in my current local woodland, the infamous Aokigahara Jukai (Sea of Trees) in Japan. Someday maybe…!

Hi Simon. I've been looking forward to this episode and it doesn't disappoint ! I imagine you're already planning your return visit to this wonderful location. There's something very special about May's greens particularly when you have great light. Great advice about not going flat out on photography breaks. I'll bear that in mind on future ! Many thanks for sharing another excellent vlog Simon.

Total Jawdroppingincredulization! (Yea that’s a word in Oregon!). Makes the pine and fir forests here look a tad bit bland! Must say that if it was me pulling that branch out of the way, I would have done a double quirk twist head over teakettle into the creek! Thanks for sharing such a magical place!

..Robert Brown...Odd..I was just thinking how similar the Oregon rainforests are to Simon's trees in this video. Lots of Old man's beard, moss and bracken in twisted old trees. Beautiful work Simon!

Why did you leave your bag, on the tripod, to dance in the breeze? Not worried about introducing camera shake and slightly blurry photos?
