This grew on me, but I also gotta agree with Ace the pre-middle section, and switch-up were actually next level. Great react, as always.

It took a minute for me to appreciate this song after listening to it, but what I can say is that after listening to it a few times I grew to like the main "Next Level" part. It is imple but I feel like it compliments the interlud,e which is very rhythmic and vocal/rap heavy. Also the way Winter says " Next Level" is *chef's kiss*
First time disagreeing with you guys haha this song honestly blew me away when I first heard it and it grew on me even more after a few more listens. There’s something about the song that’s just so addictive and ofc unique! I love it more than black mamba 😆
The section you didn't like was from Hobbs and Shaw Soundtrack and the switch up was what SM usually does to showcase their artist.
And based on their story, They're now just synking with the ae, since they got hacked the last song. Probably we'll get more and more of their avatars as they win against the black mamba.
I agree with y’all... the beginning and end seemed so dull but the switch up MADE the song! It took me a few listens before I liked this song, but I love it now especially the switch up
I thought the song was a bit too weird at first tbh.. but it's so addictive and catchy that I've had it on repeat the past few days 😅
I agree with Ace. He did such a good job of explaining of what was bothering me about this song. These girls are so talented, but I feel like we are not getting to see that because everything is too focused on the production. Let the girls shine!

this is just their 3rd song, and just like any sm artists they have a storyline, so usually what they do is they focused to establish that part of the group first, and then they will venture out more.
You are saying the initial songs and videos are to show the storyline, instead of the artists?
@@lizsays3324 i say they will focused more on that part of the artist, not that they will only focus on that. That’s why they posted their universe film in addition to this mv and their debut mv. If you want to listen to more vocal song you can listen to Forever.
note: by storyline, i mean the group concept itself and their whole universe storyline
Well it's not really Aespa's song cuz the track was bought by SM which was orginally a Fast and the Furious soundtrack...
this took time to like this song, this song was the most popular song in korea its was top #1 in the chart for month so to like this song you really really need to listen to it alot of time.
They’re amazing vocals really sell this song!! Honestly I love this song throughout. I like the juxtaposition!

at first i didnt like it but now i love it. and the song is doing really well in korea so that's good bc like you said they work really hard. i think since you didn't like black mamba that much either maybe the group and their style is just not for you guys
I watched the movie Hobbs & Shaw days before the release and I heard the original in the movie...I kinda think their version is more interesting. Like, it haves better vocals and the Korean language adds to the sound like, it sounds much more put togheter. In English it sounds like your regular pop-ish-lowkey-cringey song.
I saw a reaction where the reactor said the same thing, their version is way more 'in your face' and pronounced and overall better than the original.
The beat drop and switch up was my favorite part

The middle section is SM's trademark sound and I love that people are liking it much better than the rest of the song, that sound is superior and it's what makes SM artists shine

I had same feeling but this song has grown on me. Also this is a Remake from the Hobs and Shaw movie.

I really liked this even at first listen hahaha strange because i often need time to like something from SM, like NCT's kick it, gimme gimme, hot sauce, regular. but I also agree with everything you said guys. I love how you're always honest with your statements. Been a fan of this channel since last year, hope you can continue being together cos y'all are funny too HAHAHAHA and addition, there's an AE in Forever, they were shown in the last part.
I don’t know if it’s a sharp note or just a really great note within the corresponding chord, but the big vocal during the jazzy bridge? slaaaaaaaays
This kind of music always makes me think of the tv show ALIAS, with its soundtrack being very reminiscent of this during spy-shenanigans. Always here for this kind of vibe.
That part reminds me of TVXQ. SM somehow is able to use their trademark sound and at the same time, none of their artists sound the same which is incredible.
@@rosietales oh snap! After reading this, I sang the bit in my head/aloud, and I immediately thought of U-Know’s big note in “Follow.” The only TVXQ I’m familiar with is from when it has just been him and Max.

I like the song but I definitely get what y'all are saying, the switch up is definitely the best part of the song
This gave me old SM vibes, like, GG's 'I Got A Boy' and very slight f(x) 'Rum Pum Pum Pum' vibes. While the middle section did catch me off guard (though that's trademark SM so idk why) I'm here for it! What I do need, however, is a mini and not a bunch of singles.

I totally agree with not wanting the avatars to take too much precedence over the real aespa members that have worked so hard to debut. Does anyone know when SM plans to release a proper mini or full album for the group?
I'm thinking it'll be either the end of the third quarter or the beginning of the last quarter of the year. Red Velvet is rumoured to come back in July, so I'm guessing September.

Actually i like it when i first time hearing it the CGI just made it more amusing to watch, because this is SM and this is normal and it's SM style that's why i'm used to it thats why i like it very much, they're just introduce aespa in this mv and talk about their concept.

My take of the song is that it shows the 2 different world where the members of aespa crossing in and out of. Reality and along with their alter egos…love this experimentation. It’s new and innovative, keeps you interested. Different from your common predictive elements in music.

Finally, a reaction video that has the same reaction as me. I don’t really vibe too much with the “next level” part, it just doesn’t do much for me, but when they changed the beat that was my favorite part. That’s the only part I keep listening to. Either way, not everybody has the same reaction as everyone else.

After awhile this song felt like a video game, lalala part you finish stage 1, the bridge your reaching the final stage, and then ae is the boss battle at the end

The switch up is 100% better obviously. But the song overall is good
I actually preferred this song over Black Mamba. I would say it is a grower. However, the song falls in line with the story they are telling through their music. Once you watch their episode; you will like the video better
I'm not sure they'll like it better. They might understand it better 😅 but they really didn't seem to focus on the lyrics or the storyline or what was the meaning of the visuals. I do think many reactors don't know what to do about Aespa because they kinda want to like them but their concept is a little hard to grasp, and they're icky about the AEs.
@@nataliah3243 its kinda weird cause the ae concept isnt really hard to grasp. its mainly on the people or the reactors to take the time and watch the story video and look at it more. ofc tho if its only a casual listener they wont want to do this and they might also be biased on the ae thing which is a bit dumb for lack of a better word.
@@melody3629 I totally understand that, and that's precisely the point. A concept that follows a culture universe like the one SM is launching isn't exactly for casual listeners. I've actually seen many reactors be more favorable after trying to understand where this comes from, which is encouraging. But casual listeners won't really be grasped by the Kwangya/FLAT/Synk etc terminology. Nor will they try to understand that musical switches and fast changes actually replicate both the real/virtual world and their traverse into the new world (ay yo GG, lol).
@@nataliah3243 I am not too sure on this because the ay yo gg haha was what got me interested in gg when I didn't even know who they were. also i was also kinda like a casual listener with next level i didn't look into the lore till after. It depends on each person there is no significant variable of a person because it varies unless we test it again and again to see the results of a group like this. however you cant say nor say that no one will understand because there is no other group with a formula or song like this presented at this time.

It’s funny how I liked the hook more than the mix up when I first listened to it, I guess because it threw me off. Then after listening to it again and again I became hooked on the whole song. After doing some research and figuring out why there was a mash up because I know Aespa has a story line, so I know they wouldn’t have done that by accident. It was to my understanding the the mix up happened because aespa was on another planet or the AI’s were there on that planet that they traveled to, so it was to show that their was a different atmosphere (correct me if I’m wrong). They have had their AI’s in all MVs so far, even Forever, because they are apart of aespa so they are always going to show up. The MVs go with the story line and people who don’t invest time to learn about the storyline will be left confused and may not like a song because they don’t understand on a deep level what is actually happening.
The aes were there in Forever, they appeared Twice 😁 Honestly, I like the song. Do I like it better than Black Mamba? It's different. That's the funny thing, we've had three very different songs from them, so it's kinda hard to understand what concept we're supposed to get? Because yes, the avatar experience one is the backbone of their concept just like alien is to EXO and duality is to NCT and Red Velvet. But Aespa aren't exactly girl crush, or cute, or sexy, or mysterious. It's a bit more fierce, I guess? I think it's particularly geared toward females and geeks/nerds with a strong chaotic vibe (especially if you watch their lives). I'm a chaotic female nerd, so it's getting a strong pass from me and it's hard to be objective, lol 🤣
P.S.-And I agree with Ace, the SM original bits are actually the best part of the song, but this version is actually an improved version of the original (no disrespect to the original artist though).

I really enjoyed this song they really made it there own I think it better then the original song but think you still have to call it a cover remix song but it still great 👍and you need to check out EVERGLOW song ( FIRST)
Yeah, I prefer the switch up once they are in the other world too! It was a bold choice to do a fast and furious OST remake though with the whole “I’m on the next level” section but it isn’t necessarily something I want to listen to

@@twilightsparkle3073 as far as I’m aware, they are still active but just at that enlistment phase of their career! Probably going to focus on solos and maybe even subunits until they are all finished with their military service

I feel like there's something seriously wrong with me. I absolutely LOVE "Next Level" and "Black Mamba" who was super loved and hyped up, I just didn't vibe with it 🤷
Same here . But maybe in the future they will get better songs ..
FIRST
next level did not impress me either on first listen, and even now after warming up to the chorus/refrain, i wish they had made the groovy switch up a full song because that is my uncontested favorite part. i appreciate sm always experimenting with sounds and forms in its songs, but that also means that its artists' title tracks (which tend to be the most experimental) are usually growers for me, if they ever do grow on me lol.
one thing i definitely appreciate about this song is how on-theme it is, with not just the lore-filled lyrics but also the electronic techno vibes. definitely leaves me wanting to see more of their future releases.
so yeah, all in all, i'm not that into next level as a song for casual listening, but it somehow doesn't detract at all from my expectations of the group.

MY's are probably going to want to throw eggs at me but I don't like this song. I've watched the video a couple of times on mute 🤐 I love the visuals,the aesthetics and the girls looked stunning but the song was a hot mess.
if you watch react to the k yt then theyll explain the song for you. I dont feel like it was a 'hot mess' but more of an interchangable song which is why many might not like it.
