    U dont undersand how much these videos have already helped me! I haven't been taught grammar or anything like this since 5th grade (I have no idea why) but we've always just read books during English classes since 5th grade so I honestly have been relying on Grammarly all these years. Thanks a lot!

    Thank you very much for this video! I got great enjoyment whenever you moaned "yesssssss" 2:10 in the video; it got my blood pumping through my whole body, helping increase my brain learning flow state for the rest of the video. I also learned a lot from your great comprehensive teachings as well.

      @@MichaelToohey Maybe just rename this video and others like it to "Digital SAT Grammer Rules to Get a 1600 on your SAT and that could get some results potentially! Nonetheless a very good lesson as I am taking the SAT on April 17th, thanks for uploading these videos!

    Hey thanks a ton for this! Are there any other rules or stuff I would need to know for the DSAT grammar section other than the ones mentioned in part 1 & 2?

    • @MichaelToohey
      @MichaelToohey  2 месяца назад

      All the rules you need are in that first grammar rules video!
      Now, there’s an art to applying them, and that just takes practice. But I Janet seen anything beyond those in my grammar rules document!
      Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Hello sir my SAT digital test is on Saturday and i was wondering do you have any tips for it??

    • @MichaelToohey
      @MichaelToohey  Месяц назад +1

      Yes!! First, watch my all my Digital SAT Videos!
      Also, for the Reading and Writing section, start with the grammar questions in the middle of each module. That way, if you don’t finish in time, you’re only missing the hardest reading questions that you’re least likely to get anyway!
      Also, for the “notes” questions, focus on the question and ignore the notes. 99% of the time the question is all you need!

  • @BluespaceGrowth

    In somewhere around the first minute, in the 22nd question, you did cross out the question with comma in the end. Being from the UK/Ireland it is particularly hard to not add a comma before a quotation. Would the answer choices vary in the UK SAT or do I have to NOT add a comma before quotations.

    • @MichaelToohey
      @MichaelToohey  5 месяцев назад +1

      Boy, that’s a great question!! I’ve even heard students in the US say they’ve been told by teachers [annoying teacher voice]: “Always use a comma before a quotation!”
      It’s simply not true.
      I’ve never seen a difference between the grammar rules for the international vs. the US administered test. I haven’t seen all the tests, so I can’t say it with absolute certainty, but I’d be surprised if they test the rules differently depending on where the SAT is administered.
      Just follow the rule: Whenever you NEED a brief pause.
      And when in doubt, leave it out. Far more unnecessary commas before quotation marks on the test. I can’t think of many times (if any!) where it’s necessary to use it on the test.
      Once again, when in doubt, leave it out.

    what use do the prepositions at the end of your doc have?

    • @MichaelToohey
      @MichaelToohey  5 дней назад

      You need to recognize prepositions on subject-verb agreement questions. The subject is never in a prepositional phrase, as is the case in the “pack of wild wolves” example. The subject there is “pack,” not “wolves” because wolves is in a prepositional phrase “of wolves” describing the subject which is “pack”.
      They love shoving prepositional phrases between the subject and the verb to through you off… know your prepositions, and don’t fall for it!

    • @MichaelToohey
      @MichaelToohey  2 месяца назад

      Nope! A colon is always going to to follow a stand-alone thought, so that wouldn’t work there.
      Gotta be a comma.
