    I bet it's mostly the bearings going bad in a failing compressor sucks that usually means a new unit these days I'm brave enough to change them and weld it back shut but what else could make it hot other than low gas and bearings or internal seals a $100 experiment is cheaper than 800 for the compressor or 5k for a unit so not much of a loss

    My friend did that and the hole thing went up in flames from the oil hahaha he didn't drain the oil
