Betta fish are colorful and intelligent pets that have been bred for hundreds of years. They have over 70 species and can be taught tricks using food as a reward. They are from Southeast Asia and can survive in small puddles during droughts, but they thrive in larger bodies of water. Male bettas build bubble nests to hold eggs and protect baby fish. Bettas are carnivores and prefer to be alone, as they can be aggressive to other fish. They require at least 5 gallons of clean and filtered water, proper decor, and a balanced diet to thrive. Despite their challenges, betta fish make great pets for beginner fish keepers.

Never tried that brand bro. Check for the protein content % there. Bettas need high protein as they are carnivorous. Generally Micro pellets works, but make sure to try minimal and it’s not spoiling water quality.

Considering 1.8 feet length, most likely it’s 10-15 gallons water tank.. usually you can add upto 3 females incase it’s 15gallons of water. But it has some risks on adding other betta. Generally shrimps and snails do much better with betta tank unless you like to add other fish. 👍👍

How do I keep algae from growing in my tank? I have a 3 gallon tank, with a couple of silk plants. I use a conditioner when I change the water and throughly rinse out the bottom rocks, change the filter, but within a few days, algae is growing in it. Thank you to anyone that responds.
I would check the light source and exposure to sun. Usually algae grow fast when exposed to sun or bright light. Add more fast growing plants. It helps to control

Actually, yes. This gives less space for betta which cause frequent maintenance and less space to swim. But your tank size is definitely better than bowl or jar.
