Picked up some bettas yesterday never had them before. The guys didn’t change aesthetically but the girls did. One of them is albino and the other one I thought was the same as one of the males, but she’s actually turquoise. She went from being a white yellow color to turquoise.

A hundred newly hatched fry is very different from 100 fish that reach adulthood. My most successful spawn gave me 25 healthy adults with no defects and good colours and health. Some spawns will give you 75% health issues and 10% considered sellable quality, the rest are just OK- ish.

I only have females, but have two Dumbo, one more hybrid with far more maroon red at nose and tail but the light grey/white elsewhere inc all fins. Two Koi, one with a lot of blue inc some bright metallic blue scales, and another I wasn't initially that keen on, but has matured into my favourite, being largely various shaded patches of terra cotta with cream and black. I also have an Alien blue that spends a lot of time hiding. I did also have three red dragons, now after two years or so one left.

In big island hilo downtown pet store they sold these I never knew some of those was rare especially the galexy one, I never really went for that one cause in person the gold only shimmers and it looks mostly black and red
so albinos always have red eyes btw. some of the betta shown during that section were just white with other colors. leucism is similar to albinism but with blue eyes instead i believe you can find some bristle nose plecos with this trait
I have rosetail betta he's color is blue in body and red in he's tail and fin, then i also buyed rosetail pure white female. But suddenly its not compatible after 1 to 2 days i try 1 week but it didnt compatible they're fighting each other. They are losing tails

King crown betta are absolutely gorgeous, and butterfly crown tails, actually they all are gorgeous. Rose tails have such multi colors, galaxy…hell. It gets better and better

I had an amazing emerald green female betta once that I had picked up from walmart of all places. She was a true dark emerald green color and I have never seen another one her color since. I think she slipped past the breeder because I can't imagine a breeder letting that one go on purpose..
These creatures are truly beautiful and that’s why this trade of Betta Fish needs to stop because of them being kept in inhumane conditions from being tied up in little plastic bags & little containers till some of them get lucky and get adopted by some good people and most of them perish away if they don’t get adopted. That number of them that perish away is unfortunately much more than the ones who are adopted. Please let’s work towards this beautiful creature’s sustainable living than the one of suffering & despair in little plastic bags & containers. 🙏

Some of these I would have to Agree on but some was actually left off... The number 1 sought after Betta has been widely known as the Fantail Betta with Purple and Green Bettas tied for second. Suntails (a cross of Crowntail and other tail types) are also top five on the list with the King Crown. Suntails (Also known as Half Suns) are extremely hard as you have to have a nearly perfect 50% cross to get a Suntail Most turn out to be one or the other parents tail types thus making it extremely hard to produce. The Most common of these are the Halfmoon x Crowntail crosses. I personally have an extremely rare Double Suntail (Double tail x Crowntail Cross) Male that is being Prepped for Breeding. Also that GloBetta that was sported in the video was an Illegal Breeding as GloBettas are a trademarked fish that many Thailand breeders imported and bred with Koi to get a neon appearance. They are very much frowned upon in the community due to this fact.

It depends. Copper has few patterns, including Ironman and black copper.. pure genetics of these breed are rare. But often there are mixed quality of such betta available in market which is not that rare.

I found a few alien bettas at petco, but they were there for so long they had no color which made them look sick. i asked the manager and she gave them to me 50% off, so i only paid $15 for two alien bettas. one of them is dark blue, and the other is green with hints of blue and red with a spade shaped tail.

Agree. Bagan betta we’re very active and aggressive. I still believe their bulky body and short fins helps better in fighting compare to other breeds. I had them in past. But greens fantail! Wow, I never seen one with fantail directly.

This was a great video! one variety i see often in canada are the blue mustard fan tailed bettas. They are not very pretty but sell for 40-60$ locally
that’s high price for mustard gas unless it’s rosetail or over Halfmoon. May be more demand for them in Canada.
