      Well said. Existentialism 🤟
There are many who feel that life is without value if there is no inherent meaning or purpose ascribed to existence...and that the thought of not truly knowing why we even exist in first place is unsettling.
When it comes down to it, it just is what it is. We may have collectively unravled many properties of the physical world and have established some pretty solid theories, but there's so much we haven't explained and probably never will. Might as well just sit back and enjoy the ride.

@@eddiebaker3267 ....I hear what you say, just thatif that were the case then he wouldn't be a Zen Master. Several things in response to your comment, firstly, he never for a moment suggested he was a Master of any kind, in fact on the very rare occasion I would bring such a notion up he would literally get quite angry and tell me to fuck off !! Kind of what one might expect such a man to do, it was dismissed outright. Likewise the idea of 'enlightenment', or that there is even a person who could possibly be enlightened. That was always met with similar dismissal. He was no saint and no sage, he was not even a teacher of any kind, in the ordinary sense of the term at least. I can tell you it was never an easy training, we were not friends, I was not his student, I was seemingly an annopyance to him. The training was was all the breaking down of ideas and conditionings that prevented me being free, it was about finding my Self and along the way breaking down the various fears and doubts that arise along the way. There's been a lot of years in all that, along with the many and varied life situations I found myself in that were used as catalysts for transfpormation and learning, or 'un-learning' as the case may be. Funny thing is I never actually talk about it, or very rarely and only with the very few I come across on a similar path.
Who is to judge what truth is ? Only one who has fully realised such could possibly have that insight and authority and along the way general life can get very messy everything starts to fall away, as indeed it needs to do. Those around me thought I was going mad (which I was of course) and there was a great deal of 'advice' and criticism, now they all see me as a very sound person who enjoys a peace and freedom they could only dream about, especially these days during what appears to be very stressful times for ordinary people. That's my story so far anyway, if it's been a false path then I'm ok about that.

@@Redbrick1980 hello Jenny, As a child I had a childhood marked by restlessness, my parents' arguments, sadness, melancholy, I was a withdrawn child, Faith did not attract my attention, I never understood, perhaps because I wanted an immediate response to the onset of suffering, nobody could Give it to me, that's how I understood as an adult the importance of being attentive to your children and explaining from the Faith and being an example for them, I also understood that, like me, my parents had lives full of deficiencies, they were like me, over time, I made many mistakes, I went through a lot of suffering and this is a good teacher, over time I realized that I looked at the world from an emotional point of view, I paid a lot of attention to the words and not to the actions of people, mainly I focused in evaluating my own decisions and actions, I always believed that I was 'good and rational' but after reasoning my actions I realized that I thought in one way and acted in another, of course we got used to living this way, to evaluating others d emas according to his words and not his actions, that gave me many answers, I observed the history of humanity from the point of view of Faith and I realized the parallel world in which I had always lived, the world is made for you lose, everything is based on pleasure, on the ego, on supremacy, we fill our emptiness with things, in the end we fill nothing, don't get me wrong, things are necessary, money is, but it is not the purpose, people they are, but even more important is oneself, in the sense of how you behave with others, this is not pure idealism, but of the correct actions that one takes for oneself, as well as for others, our Lord Jesus and his church, created the western world, there is a lot of despair and decadence today, but we must hold on to his promises and believe, it is not easy, there are many tests and sometimes doing the right thing hurts, it is embarrassing for some, others will criticize you, it is difficult to pray and stand up with so many in flows around you, Mr. Elon is looking for an answer, he is like us, he just has to look in the right place, I love physics, but I see it as a means to an end, to understand the work, of God, that he did this perfect world, for us, in the midst of the hostile chaos of the universe.....blessings.

The meaning of life is based on an individual perception of your own self that applies to you and how you fit into the question that defines who you are to yourself, and the more that you understand yourself is when you realize that the question already has an answer but fear keeps you from stepping into the unknown and looking backwards to see what your question was and how it guided your life. The knowledge, experience, struggles, and interactions with other individuals aren’t the meaning but the guidance of your path to understanding your own question!

The reasons I believe we ask the question, “What is the meaning of life?” It is simply because it encompasses the following:
    1. We truly know nothing for sure.
    2. We are very open-minded to the answer for our existence and purpose.
    3. We have an innate desire to understand why we are here.
    4. It’s a broad, open-ended question that leaves room for the possibility of a multi-bullet-pointed answer.

If you listen to a person's language they tell you a lot of things. He just said "As an adult it's much more manageable." meaning he still probably has a lot of difficulties. I wish people would take the time to see that before they go badmouthing him or other people in general. We're human. Treat each other with a little bit of kindness because you don't understand what they're going through. And I hope the people close to him are paying attention because depression can get severe. There's justice and then there's revenge. Justice is when something happens and a person is disciplined for their actions with the intent that the person will learn. Revenge is pointless because it's only there to hurt people. I also, lived vicariously through them, giving them the childhood I wished I could have experienced. They had birthday parties every year and wonderful Christmases. When money was tight, I put things on lay away starting in July so, they would have a wonderful Christmas without disappointments. Someone who's caring, loving and compassionate can still be a useless and miserably unhappy failure whom no one respects much, including him-/herself. People have to develop in multiple ways and be balanced.

Life has a start and an end, you can do and you can become a lot of things while you are between your start and your end.
You can rely on yourself or you can involve others and share short or long term goals with them.
The older you are the more you have to be aware about your limited time, that puts some pressure on you but it also gives you the freedom to not regret your experiences and decisions because you can die the next day, so all your experiences are kinda important, even the bad ones.
Happiness is the result of being able to recive it, you can only be happy if you are open to happiness, and you can only be open to recieve happiness if you feel like you deserve it and you only feel that way if you do things, say things, make decisions which are in line with your values.
That is why you should know your core values well, even if you make compromises.
I read a comment somewhere: "Life is about enjoying it", this is easier said than done, but it starts with you, even if you do not think that way, you deserve the same happiness as everyone else, no matter how you feel about it.
So.. just make an effort to feel good in your skin now and then.
I could write another essay about how you have to control your desires because learning moderation is the key for stability in your life, but trying not to make mistake is kinda pointless because you need mistakes so you can learn from them, the only question is how many lessons you need.
