Lucasfilm presenteert “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", het eerste deel in een nieuwe serie van een op zichzelf staande Star Wars reeks.
“Rogue One” gaat over een groep onwaarschijnlijke helden die in roerige tijden met elkaar samenwerken om de plannen voor het ultieme vernietigingswapen, de Death Star, te stelen van het oppermachtige Keizerrijk. Dit belangrijke moment op de Star Wars-tijdlijn is allesbepalend: het brengt gewone mensen bij elkaar die ervoor kiezen om buitengewone dingen te doen en zo onderdeel worden van iets groters dan henzelf.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is geregisseerd door Gareth Edwards met acteurs Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen en Forest Whitaker. Met Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur en Simon Emanuel als producent, en John Knoll en Jason McGatlin als uitvoerend producent. Het verhaal is geschreven door John Knoll en Gary Whitta, en het scenario door Chris Weitz en Tony Gilroy. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is vanaf 14 december 2016 in de Nederlandse bioscopen te zien.

Caleb Custom Bricks Fan service is not always a bad thing. It was a 10 second scene, and I’m sure almost every fan laughed or smiled the first time they saw the cameo. Just allow yourself to enjoy something.

@@joeyk107 Because they are fucking boring, they have no personality or character development, the characters are purely a visual, no depth to them, nothing interesting, just empty 2d characters that are boring to watch. They put no effort into making the characters interesting. Star Wars fans are just drinking the cool-aid.
This establishing shot is one of my favorite scenes. It feels as if the music is a forshadow of what is to come in the city… very powerful.
I love how Jyn looked ready to throw down with the both of them.

Howling Burd19 Yeah I can't watch TFA now that TLJ is out and poop. And I agree, Rogue One is a good Disney Star Wars movie. But IMO Solo is a good movie. Truth be told, anthology films are the only things keeping Star Wars alive, that and the comics. I haven't read any Disney Star Wars books, but I HAVE read the comics and seen the anthologies, I think the comics are really good and interesting, same as the anthologies. And I am very excited for the Kenobi movie! Though, tbh, I'd rather have a Darth Maul movie taking place before Episode I, or a Mara Jade movie, bust mostly just so Mara wil be canon XD

I dislike how touchy and rough Dr Evazan is to Jyn just for her bumping him. Just as much as he and Teak Sidbam were to Luke at the Catina Bar.

@Dusky Studios What is there dislike about him is, how he and the other just randomly bother Luke just because of him being there. Especially when Luke didn't want any trouble and neither did Jyn. Plus how he shoved Luke out of the way and tried to kill Obi Wan.

Have you ever watched 'Yojimbo'? The Mifune character confronts a gang of 'gamblers' and one of them actually says they all have 'death sentences' on their heads. At which point Mifune simply says 'cant fix stupid' and lops off the guy's arm--and a few other bits as well;

not really.. they probably were walking to the space port right now to leave Jedha.. then there is 2 or 3 days up to the battle of Scarif.. and after that another 3 or 4 days until Luke walks into that Cantina.. so you have between 5 and 7 days of margin.. plenty of time for them to fly to Tatooine.. wich i guess in the writers mind can be done under a day..

This was some of the clunkiest fanservice I've ever seen. It made no sense for them to be here moments before the city is destroyed, and then again on Tatooine which takes place only days later. Is he just desert-planet-hopping?

Talking of Rogue One, I couldn't take Jyn Erso seriously because of how pretty she was when I first saw it in the Cinema. But apart from that at least they got the death star plans in the end
Actresses almost always get cast because they're pretty. I liked Jyn Erso. I mean, she wasn't some super special character or anything, but it was a good movie considering it's Disney.

The two were always on the move from planet to planet, because they were pretty much the most wanted individuals in the entire galaxy, so they never stayed in places for very long in order to avoid being caught.
there is between 5 / 7 days between this and the day Luke left Tatooine .. they left Jedha this day because we know the Death Star destroys the city this afternoon or maybe a day later at most (depending how long they expent arround Jedha and how long it takes to walk to Saw's place..wich they seem to walk too as seen previously with Body)

This scene is one of the reasons I had a hard time enjoying rogue one. A bunch of in your face fan service with a huge lack of original weirdness.
That's one of the reasons I LOVE Rogue One. It's fan service, I'm a fan, and I want to be service. And fan service is a rare thing u get from Di$ney
That kinda kills room for original ideas if they're just there to be there and not move the plot forward at all.. They make TFA and R1 (which you just noted was all fan service) and you complain about a lack of fan service.... What? I think you're just upset that they toned it down with TLJ and Solo. Those felt more like OT SW than the most professionally made fan film ever. (R1)
