Lovely Old Town of Portugal. A lot to get some souvenirs. Great square. Its a long way to get to the beach. Beach area is clean . Beautiful structures around the church. Really an exiting walking tour with lovely views around you. Nice share!

I visited Albufeira when I was younger on the cheap (very cheap). I remember it was November so was lovely in the day but cooled considerably at night. We were camping on a site just up the road out of Albufeira so had to thaw out each morning lol. It was a great holiday though, I loved it. The beaches are stunning.
It does cool down when the sun goes down

Fabulous reminder of my 1st holiday abroad with my (now) wife about 30 years ago. We stayed at the top of the hill just outside the old town. It looks to have changed a little but still retains the quaint feel. I have a few fond memories of that holiday and one slightly embarrassing one where on a driunken night I murdered a Detroit Spinners song at a karaoke bar..lol. Thanks fpr sharing your visit . IB, Izzy and I have been fantasizing about a proper restful holiday back here, again. Normally we galivant around everywhere at a pace, but we're craving some still and quiet at the moment.
We definitely chill out when we stay here, especially if we are here for 30 or 60 days. Portugal 🇵🇹 is so laid back.

My Hometown Albufeira as a Kid i have been there many times. Praia dos pescadores ( Pry.A. Doo's Paaska. Dor oose) Which means Fishermans Beach! Love the update haven't been there for a while. Thanks for the views of change friend.

Stayed there 16 years ago on. Strip hotel roof top like ship facing bunker hill takes you two beach two hotels there

The reason I am asking is we would like to find a place next year for two months with two bedrooms and wondered if inland would be more reasonable. In the three years we have been going the prices have gone up for rentals hugely. 🙂
@@ThisIsOurRetirement We very close to Silves, but you need a car, we had a car and a motorcycle, but spent a lot of time in Albufeira, shopping at the shopping centre just outside the town and eating in the town.

Is that new escalator was there 15 years ago stayed on bottom of the strip top used to walk to old town past fire station shopping center was new mall loved it rented car for week stayed two week for canada

It is nice and quiet from January to March, towards the end of March it's noticeable that there are more people arriving.
15 years ago we went two end March we bit cool night but Canadians went for 2 or 3 months said loved it cheap to eat drink if you like we’d flat so loved it Canada here

A nice little video of Albufeira. What was the temperature during your stay as it does look nice and sunny but was it also nice and warm.
We are still here, in late January and February was between 15º - 18ºc and 3 or 4 rain days, now March we are getting 17º to 25º and feeling hot 😎☀️ For Canadians just being away from snow and ice is good enough ☃️❄️ Thanks for your kind comments.

How do you travel from town to town in Portugal? Car, train, bus?
When we are there for a month or so we rent a car 🚘, but if there for say a week we will use the train, bus or Trams 🚋 in Lisbon .Have a great week Cheers 🍷🙂🍺
How do you not get lost walking up, down and around all those narrow ways?
We are planning on going next month and worry we’ll get lost every time we leave our hotel.
Don’t worry you will get used to all the roads very quickly especially in the old town they all kind of come back to the big square , have a wonderful trip Cheers 🇨🇦🍷☕🇵🇹

Nice video. Never been to Algarve, but will next summer. Been all over from Lisbon to Vigo Spain in the north. Things have changed so much over the past 25 years. Life is very laid back. From Toronto but plan to retire in Portugal in the future.

That sounds like a great plan to retire there, we like to send a month or two in winter in the Algarve. There is lots to see and the beaches are spectacular, thanks for visiting us and leaving a great comment.
I called Google and they told me that there is (are) train lines along the Algarve coast and the trains stop in every town (the Regional). Any reason you rented a car while there?
@@ThisIsOurRetirement I see. My wife and I made a plan to visit Portugal in spring last year and to get a tour package that includes flight, hotel and car for a week. That would be a good trip, but Covid derails all those plans. We never been to Portugal, except for a few hours visit to a customer's plant in Valença many years ago.
@@ThisIsOurRetirement I am sure it was Portugal Getaways that we used. A couple of friends who went there got really intimidated by driving in narrow streets of Portugal. I drive quite a bit in Germany, German roads are wider I believe.
The roads in Portugal aren’t narrow they are regular sized and traffic is less. Only when you get into a small village or town with an old town area are the roads narrow. Most of the time it would be similar to Canada.

@@ThisIsOurRetirement I just wished I was there in my little heaven but unfortunately I’m here in the states with these manifestations against president Trump about Black Lives Matter this country it’s just caos all over the states unfortunately 😢 my parents came to this amazing country of opportunities to have a better life and now we’re seeing that USA it’s not the same I just hope that people can vote for the right president who cares about his nation and his people if not God knows what’s about to happen it seems that everywhere we go people with bad attitude etc. just pray for us it’s just a lot going on 🙏❤️

The town was Praia de Luz a 45 minute drive past Albufeira. Should we not travel to any city that has violent crime, like Paris etc.
