    I'm so terribly obsessed with reading and listening to con horror stories. I feel so lucky I've never experienced anything too terrible !

    Convention stories so horrific that even the Pikachu in the bottom corner is horrified!

    That beggar guy reminds me of this creepy neighbour I had as a kid. Apparently when I was a baby, he kept wanting to chat with Mum all the time, probably because he was lonely, but eventually she refused to keep talking to him - she had other matters (i.e. me!) to attend to! He got cross about this and when some friends came over one day, she overheard him grumbling about how she and Dad had "friends with posh cars" whom they preferred socialising with over him. When I was a kid, he did some very weird and intrusive things, like getting a chair and looking over our fence, and we had to call the police once. He died years ago, but much like the beggar, he didn't seem to realise being obnoxious and creepy was the real reason people didn't do what he wanted.

    The person shaking you down was a drug addict. They get like that. Call the cops when you are distance and tell them he is physically harassing convention goers and they will can him for 24 hours, or make him leave at a minimum. The cops have orders to keep the bad creeps AWAY from big cons as that is where the city gets its big moola.

    I'm such a little snark. If a bum started shouting at me for not giving him money I would have busted him up with all sorts of "The power of 'please'" and 'not with that attitude' and stuff.
    Absolutely no one on this living Earth owes him money just because he don't have an income, how dare he disrespect others like that. What a disgusting, entitled behaviour.

      Mmhmm. some people are complete dicks sadly. I feel if i was in that situation and if i got the confidence, I'd probably say something kinda rude back because - I may be a shy anti social teenager, but i do have anger issues n' such. (Knowing how shy i am however, I'd probably say nothing and try and avoid tbe situation)

    Omg I think I know who you're talking about at youmacon, my friends and I were there for 2016 and there was a guy outside the RenCen who asked one of the con goers for some money and he told him he didn't have any then some money fell out his pocket and the guy who was begging for money got mad and was like "COMIC BOOK PEOPLE AIN'T REAL ANYWAY" or something like that it was crazy 😭

    Oh god that guy begging you for money reminds me of a man outside of Matsuricon last year. He legit would walk up to any and every person asking for money, even chasing after people in the far distance causing a group of people just taking photos outside to feel the need to go back inside.

  • @maskedfoxx7173
    @maskedfoxx7173 6 лет назад +10

    Tbh I would have responded to the beggar with, "I would if you were polite about it."
    I feel sorry for people that are so down on their luck that they have to panhandle, but if they're gunna be a jackass about it and expect people to pity them, they have lost all of my sympathy.

    I remember sometime last year I had to threaten to call the Cops on a begger lady who would not leave me alone after i mentioned to her that I didn't have money to give. Bye the way, this wasn't at any convention. I was just waiting for a bus to go to the movie theater. But your begger story makes mine look like a walk in the park in NYC.

    Be careful if you ever go to downtown Dallas. For example, Afest is in Dallas and there are a lot of homeless people asking for money. I'd recommend keeping your debit card and a bit of cash. If you carry card, I'd recommend learning how to use Samsung or Apple pay to buy stuff with debit. That way you won't lose your card when you lose your wallet

    Lol I live in a city where a lot of homeless individuals are very vocal. I’m pretty use to toning them out and ignoring them. But I understand that not everyone is use to that. For example my suburban friends are usually very taken aback by homeless people or just people in general calling them out in the middle of the street when visiting. I try to help them out by ignoring the ruckus but my one poor friend just can’t take her eyes off of odd encounters and situations, thus causing more of a reaction from the homeless ppl making the commotion X’D

    I had an experience like the beggar once, it was not at a con but several years back mom and i had won tickets for an early access to the star wars rogue one movie. As we waited outside it got cold and dummy me didn't bring a sweater DX Seeing it was at a outside mall i had to take the time to head to the shops and found an old navy but on the way a man was asking for donations and i simply said i had nothing on me, only the money i was given to find a jacket. Well i buy one (old navy expensive as HECK) and as i did not know the area i had to walk past the man again who OF COURSE then proceeds to point out i could buy a fancy jacket and guilt tripped me into giving my last few cents.. I honestly actually felt threatened.

    Okay the Detroit story first I would have gone up to con security and explained what happened or I honestly would have called the cops if I honestly felt my life was in danger.

  • @doukzu
    @doukzu 5 лет назад +1

    Oof that beggar one, yeah... Big oof.
    If someone had asked me for money on the way to a convention, in a far politer manner, I would have asked if they were hungry because you can give someone food and know that they can't exactly buy drugs with that- but if you give them money...

      Thank you so much! I try to keep my videos light and sweet but I appreciate all types of videos! Everyone deals with situations differently of course! There's been moments where I've had trouble keeping my cool but I'm glad that my videos can come off so positively!! Everyone is different and I love seeing how other people handle situations like these even if it's not how I would handle it!

    Wish I heard about traveling in group 4 years ago I had a few experiences where people would try to start with me and when I snap at them for provoking me they try to switch it up and act like they're a victim for getting the opposite of what they expected me to do for them pissing me off and they'd try to change tbe narrative of what happened and also use very little screenshots to push a false narrative instead of the whole screenchat because they know it will hurt their objective of them trying to paint me as the bad person. I've been doing group Hangouts at cons this year and I don't regret it one bit.

  • @TheIronChainMaster

    Oh man i would've loved to have that beggar try to confront me. I would've have degraded him to the point of not to bother anyone else again. " So you smoke weed huh? *looks up and down at the person* WELL WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT AM I RIGHT?!?! No wonder your broke ass is here asking for money!" i don't take beggars lightly, especially the aggressive types

    I had a similar situation with a homeless man at Anime NYC. I was at the train station waiting to meet up with someone who I was selling my extra badge to. The homeless man asked me for money. I turn him down and he leaves. I finally meet up with the person and she gives me the cash for the badge. The guy comes up again and he sees that I have cash and he’s screeching at me, cursing me out and shit because I won’t give him the money. I tell him off as he walks away…in like 5 different directions 😅

    To balance it out, you should do a "Convention Happy Stories" vid. :) Just an idea.

      Horror stories but not horror in the theatrical sense. It's a common way to refer to this particular genre of storytime videos. My apologies if there was confusion.
