Just ordered my first tablet, huion canvas pro 13, with a bit of luck it will be here in a few days. I'm so excited and a little bit scared to go from my sketchbooks to the digital world

Thanks for the review. It was a very well detailed and yet not that long video, I just loved it! I can't tell you I'm a beginner (well, in digital art I actually AM), but I just found that it's pretty hard to start digital art in a pen tablet when you're a traditional artist for years. I've tried for almost two years now, and it just made me draw less. I'm looking for a pen display that's not that expensive and still, it's not that small. And I believe this display just seems to be the best choice. Here in Brazil, the price it's not that nice, but still cheaper than any other pen displays out there. So, again, thanks for the video. It helped my decision. Plus: just found your channel. Looking forward to see more! ♥
I just ordered this it will be my first. Being new to it I figured it be good starter and to me big enough sence I been doing all my art on a Note 10+.
@@sepptex3545 it's like a monitor for your computer that works with a pen. And it works with as if the pen is like a mouse. So it depends on your computer and the program you have. It won't work on its own with out computer. I don't use it for editing videos, cus I'm not sure if the tablet will work with the apps. Cus most app compatibility the tablet is for art apps. But I have not tried it with Adobe Premier (that's what I use). I can test it for you and give you an update if it works.
I got mine 2 days ago and I am a beginner in digital art here is my opinion on the tablet: This is my first tablet. It's very intuitive and easy to use! I like the shortcut keys because I can just press and bam undo. I would definetly reccomend this tablet for beginners!

I couldn't help notice, are those calluses on you right index finger from drawing so much? If so, wow you are really passionate about your art and it's inspiring and admirable. If u still haven’t bought one yet I would definitely recommend the pro or regular 13 or 16 because I think the 22 plus is way to big for me personally, the 13 and 16 are definitely my 2 favorite tablets. btw the 13, 16, and 22 have a screen on the tablet instead of just a drawing pad :)
Thanks for the wonderful review. I bought mine and it should be coming on Sunday. I bought it mainly for tutoring chem to draw molecules. I was going to get one without screen, but then saw the screen version, and so I chose it. I could use it for drawing too. It's good size for portability. I have a 20 or 22 Kamvas, but now rarely use it. I should practice more drawing.
Yours is the 3rd video I am watching to understand if we need this tablet to be connected to a computer at all times for sketching and painting? or can it be used as a standalone tablet for drawing? Does it have its own operating system and software or it mirrors the computer screen on this tablet.
Any advice on getting this or something like a galaxy tab s7? The price is very different but the tab s7 is a stand alone device. I already bought a new laptop (thinkpad t480 so I have thunderbolt to power this display). The main function I want out of a device like this is to take notes for college(I’m studying computer engineering) and I’d like to draw digital art and maybe get into 3d modeling with a pen input and that’s something I can’t do with the tablet as easy. With the tab s7 I can technically set it up as a second display for my laptop but it be better to use the pen display as a second display for my laptop. I use a two display setup for my desktop so having two displays would be nice on the go as well. Any thoughts?
if you want to use zbrush or blender, get this. for note taking the tabs are mush better, but you can plug this into your android device, so it would even take less space in the college desk. For digital art they are both great.
for free applications try out medibang paint pro! available for both PC and phones. krita is also a great free option but the UI is said to be a bit too much for beginners. i personally switched from medibang to clip studio because on black friday it was -50% off, only 25 euros. highly recommended! great one-pay alternative to photoshop
Hey! So I went to the display calibration settings on my laptop and opened the same painting on my laptop, iPhone and display. There isn't much you can do really, but changing color profile so all three match sometimes can help :)
Is it possible to get the Huion stand off of Amazon? The pen stand is better than h640p. I had to shove it under the cap and twist it and it didn't feel safe personally.
Tayaba, I just looked on Amazon, and yes there are a few Huion stands you can get from there if you don’t like this one :) anything to make you more comfortable drawing!

Does the tablet kinda work like an iPad? Like when you turn it on (without it being connected to a computer) does it show your apps and stuff? And how to do charge it?

I can move the cursor on my laptop with the tablet but the screen is black. I read somewhere that it can be a pen tablet or a pen display, I think mine is stuck in pen tablet mode, I wanted to know if you know how to switch it to pen display?

Most drawing tablets do not come with any software. That being said, some well stablished companies, such as Wacom, sometimes do offer drawing, painting and image editing programs in order to strengthen their selling point. there are plenty of free great drawing/painting softwares out there. depending on what your wanting the software to do, that is up to u. just google around and see which ones seem best for what kind of stuff ur wanting to achieve .hope this helps and good luck!
you can just download free art software such as paint tool sai, krita or medibang. Personally i like medibang because it is actually very easy yet somewhat professional level software. its underrated but is actually really deeply built(not as built as photoshop)
same. But I found this issues on every tablet I've tried. Plus, when you post your work online, everyone has a different device and will see it in slightly different colors. There's just no way around this 🥲

I'm sorry, I am probably just really stupid... But how do you get from installing the drivers to the actual work canvas? Every video I've watched they went from unboxing the product, installing the drivers, and then all of a sudden the canvas is there. How do you load up the canvas to start drawing?
Hey 👋 Oh man, I knew I missed something in the review! Basically, after the driver is installed, the tablet is acting like a second monitor and now you have two options in your computer's "Display" settings: 1. Mirror Displays - with this option everything that's on your computer will also show up on the tablet. They will be identical! So one you open your drawing software, like Photoshop, you will see it on both screens and can start drawing. 2. The other option is when the display mirroring is not turned on and then when you open the drawing software it will show up on your computer screen, but the tablet screen will be still empty. SO what you have to do is take that software's window and drag it outside of your screen and onto the tablet. And then you can use it to draw, and use your computer's screen to watch stuff at the same time)) Hope this helps! 😊

Hi 👋 So, lately I've been using a usb keyboard as that seems to really work for me.. But I do like to setup B, I, E, [,], ctrl+Z, command+s, command+d.. These are just at the top of my head. Hope you enjoy your learning 😊

Hello everyone. I've recently bought a kamvas 13 and I'm having some major issues. The tablet keeps disconnecting and reconnecting randomly. I've already tried to reinstall the latest drivers and tried some of the elder ones. Is there someone who's had this same issue? How did you solve it? Thanks in advance!
Hello! I'm one of Huion's dedicated user and this problem is not with your tablet OR your laptop. Its the cable USB. You might want to get it checked or buy a new cable because I have the same problem few years ago and I realised that the tablet may disconnect when I accidentally touched the cable. I ended up buying a new cable and a new tablet after.
@@unaestrella1876 it's the hdmi port requirement as my monitor AND the tablet wanted to use it so I'm forced to purchase an hdmi multiple plugin adapter it does work fine if i just use it without the monitor but for some strange reason, paint tool sai isn't functional well with it. i think it has something to do with the tablet needing to use the monitor as well
@@nemo3029 ohh but don't you need the monitor for the tablet to work? soo I have a usb c and usb does it come with a normal single wire I can just plug into my usb port or nahh. ? I'm thinking of buying it.
@@unaestrella1876 there's no usbc. as far as i know, it required both it's hdmi and usb to function on my pc, as for the red usb is just there if there's not enough power for the previous plugin to make it run. take it with a grain of salt though as I'm waiting for my hdmi adapter to arrive

It's cheap for a drawing monitor considering years ago Cintiqs were to only option and the cheapest one costs like 3 times what this one costs. Obviously that doesn't mean everyone can afford it
It's very cheap for a display tablet. Prices for non-display tablets can be as low as $25. I used a $25 tablet (Huion H420) and it worked very well for 2 years.
I asked this for Christmas and I hope I get it, I really wanted to have it after watching all the reviews and wanting to do digital art for a long time. Thank you. I will update if I got it. Edit: totally got it :)))))))))) thanks mom and dad

I just received this tablet, I installed the driver, but I can't see the screen on it. It doesn't stay black, but I only see my desktop without any icon or anything else. It's like the screen tablet is a screen on its own, can you help me?

@@AnnaSok_Art yes i did :) there are some callibration inconsistencies but im getting used to the tablet pretty much, its a change because ive used a wacom intuos 3 a5 for over 10 years (non-screen)

I love it too for the price, and for durability, I have been using it for about one month and half, about 5-7 hours per day for my project, and so far have no issues. I hope I can use it for very long time. Also if you don't know, you can use it for portable monitor for game console with power from usb slot, which is pretty cool.
@@jasonbourne8490 yeah but I have a switch lite and idk if it can work for that😭, and so far I've owned mine for a couple weeks and I seriously hope it lasts a long time too. The 13.3 inch screen is alot bigger than I expected so I've been able to draw longer too since I switched from just using a regular samsung tablet.

i used to use a kamvas pro 12 and connect it to my phone but i recently upgraded to the kamvas 13. i highly HIGHLY recommend it.

No it doesnt it needs to be plugged into something
but it does work with mobile so you can but an otg adapter and use it on your phone and stuff

You can also just use fire alpaca it is an pretty good program for beginners

Hello everyone. I've recently bought a kamvas 13 and I'm having some major issues. The tablet keeps disconnecting and reconnecting randomly. I've already tried to reinstall the latest drivers and tried some of the elder ones. Is there someone who's had this same issue? How did you solve it? Thanks in advance!
Hello! I'm one of Huion's dedicated user and this problem is not with your tablet OR your laptop. Its the cable USB. You might want to get it checked or buy a new cable because I have the same problem few years ago and I realised that the tablet may disconnect when I accidentally touched the cable. I ended up buying a new cable and a new tablet after.

@@unaestrella1876 it's the hdmi port requirement as my monitor AND the tablet wanted to use it so I'm forced to purchase an hdmi multiple plugin adapter
it does work fine if i just use it without the monitor but for some strange reason, paint tool sai isn't functional well with it.
i think it has something to do with the tablet needing to use the monitor as well
@@nemo3029 ohh but don't you need the monitor for the tablet to work? soo I have a usb c and usb does it come with a normal single wire I can just plug into my usb port or nahh. ? I'm thinking of buying it.
@@unaestrella1876 there's no usbc. as far as i know, it required both it's hdmi and usb to function on my pc, as for the red usb is just there if there's not enough power for the previous plugin to make it run.
take it with a grain of salt though as I'm waiting for my hdmi adapter to arrive

9:08 I figured that weird stroke thing only happens in Mac users idk why but I heard from so many review videos that only happens in Mac users that wired bluob lines with huion
i heard that it was because you have drivers from other tablets installed. not sure why it messes with that, but it was a fix for another user :)

Is it compatible with Alcatel v1 (20019) phone?
Does the tablet work with any program from the computer or just photoshop?
It works just like a secondary display, so any software and program that works on your computer will work too.

This is a nice tablet, but $284 still does not sound cheap to me. You should know that I am morbidly poor (living off on disability income).
It's cheap for a drawing monitor considering years ago Cintiqs were to only option and the cheapest one costs like 3 times what this one costs. Obviously that doesn't mean everyone can afford it
You should start commissions! You'd be able to afford it in no time
It's very cheap for a display tablet. Prices for non-display tablets can be as low as $25. I used a $25 tablet (Huion H420) and it worked very well for 2 years.
I asked this for Christmas and I hope I get it, I really wanted to have it after watching all the reviews and wanting to do digital art for a long time. Thank you. I will update if I got it.

@@unaestrella1876 I figured out most of my problems either from the website or RUclips but one of them was my screen was somewhat red and the website told me to reply my cables and it fixed my screen.

I just received this tablet, I installed the driver, but I can't see the screen on it. It doesn't stay black, but I only see my desktop without any icon or anything else. It's like the screen tablet is a screen on its own, can you help me?
It is a screen of its own :) You can mirror your screen onto it, or use it as a separate monitor and enjoy having two screens 😊

but it will probably be the huion, the features speak for itself for the price compared to other similar ones

@@AnnaSok_Art yes i did :) there are some callibration inconsistencies but im getting used to the tablet pretty much, its a change because ive used a wacom intuos 3 a5 for over 10 years (non-screen)

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a good place to ask this but uh- My tablet works, but the screen only displays my wallpaper? It's picking up on everything I do but it's not showing on the screen, did this happen to anyone else or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

you can connect it to an Android phone as well :) But on its own it's not operational. For that you would need something like an iPad.

@@mookmonstrr I am glad that I found someone with same issue, not lot of reviewer seems to mention it. But I can inform you that I got answers from several sources now, and the heat actually normal, so nothing to worry about

I love it too for the price, and for durability, I have been using it for about one month and half, about 5-7 hours per day for my project, and so far have no issues. I hope I can use it for very long time. Also if you don't know, you can use it for portable monitor for game console with power from usb slot, which is pretty cool.
@@jasonbourne8490 yeah but I have a switch lite and idk if it can work for that😭, and so far I've owned mine for a couple weeks and I seriously hope it lasts a long time too. The 13.3 inch screen is alot bigger than I expected so I've been able to draw longer too since I switched from just using a regular samsung tablet.
