I find you didn't quite touch on how crazy Persistence of the Forge is. The +Hit chance past 95% goes to crit, and very quickly building up to 100% crit. 11 hits in a row, at least 6 of them guaranteed crits at 95% hit chance.
It can be picked indeed! As our Pasqal does have the space for some of the generic Talents. It's just that usually I have Argenta killing most enemies before he ever gets to act even with GS boost!
Hello, first I want to congratulate you on your quality and initiative. I'm Brazilian and looking for Baldur's Gate 3 builds I found your channel, through that I discovered Rouge Trader and I'm loving the game, but I have one request. Rouge Trader does not have Brazilian Portuguese localization and I can only play using AI translation. I know that in your videos you explain in detail the choice of talents and skills, but in one of your videos someone listed these attributes and using that, I put the game in English, configured the character and then translated the game again, so just if it's not too much work, I would appreciate it if you could make a list in your other builds of the talents and skills, if it's too much work then forget the request. Thanks for your great videos
would be cool to see this guide get an upgrade since some significant changes have been made to pasqal (like he can upgrade his tech priest talents on generic talent choices).
The annoying thing about Pascal is really you want to take so much from the initial Operative tree. You don't take this but Inflict Despair is 20% damage reduced, which along with Machine Banishment 30%, and Intimidation its entirely possible to have something like 60%+ damage reduced for your entire party on single target, which is amazing for bosses, as they can get around armor, deflection, parry, dodge, but pure damage reduction stops them in their tracks. Then if you add Pascal's Offensive Pattern Prediction on top, I've seen him take literally 95% reduced damage, putting every other tank to shame. Pascal in general is just a crazy unit, basically never leaves the party as soon as I get him, but using him is a bit more subtle than someone who is obviously super overpowered like Cassia. Also when you do the Abelard video mention the Get Into Cover interaction with Cassia's Mastery of Time stacking.
Good stuff. Tactical Knowledge can get all the exploits off one enemy so you can judiciously load one up then take off 4 - 10 or more if there are few or scattered enemies. Operatives do seem good in multiples like Bounty Hunters since they can use one another's buffs. Combat Locus gets rid of all the other zones so you need plan to use it - seems bad as your random one. OTOH there is an item that doubles its bonuses - ie gives 4x baseline so I start fights by giving everyone 100+ armour & the fight is effectively over. (or +100% damage with range or dodge if you prefer)
@@20storiesunder Acceleration protocol - start with +int bonus MP, After every single successful melee attack, gain Int bonus/2 in MP for the next round.
I can't remember where I got it, but the Ancient Plasma Rifle is very overpowered for this build. It deals 2 x int additional damage... Not int bonus, int.
^This. I was churning out 900-1400 on single plasma shots and I had Cassia boosted enough to where she could unlock her ulti in her first turn, so I'd soften up the big targets, pull targets into Pasqual's line of sight, and use finest hour on him so he could annihilate everything. You know it's broken when everything is dead before argenta gets a turn.
This is almost exactly my build, lol. Having said that - I wasn't aware of the bug with Overcharge Protocols (And honestly didn't test it), so I may end up respeccing to get rid of that talent. Honestly though, he peforms super well even with the wasted talent and I'm playing on Unfair, so maybe there's no need.
Great build - fun to play, but I've made alterations (I pushed strength to 45 for heavy armor and power armor later, as it seems fitting for a tech-priest to want his own suit of powered armor, especially since you get to meet a dude wearing one during act 2 (no, not saying more - don't want to spoil it!))
One slight issue, the ability to take advanced skill tech use is a bug currently. You are still meant to take the basic skill tech use first, but the restrictions wasn't set up properly. Could also be why the re-roll isn't working properly either.
Will give this a go when I find a plasma weapon, I only just found pasqal. It's making me want to restart as a officer though (my mc atm is a soldier) but I use a hirling as my pure officer, now that I'm finding more cool companions it's making me want to use more companions and have the officer position filled by my mc instead 🤔
fun fact: with plasma !pistols! there is an item that lets u shoot a 2nd time in a round for free if u score a critical (true even for the area attack, its free!)
@@cRPGBrothere is a savage overcharged plasma gun in act 4, it can only fire 3x3 area but for 1 ap (it is bugged, sometime it doent work, it deducts 2 ap)
Do you happen to have a wiki with these? I'm playing the game and following your builds with some minor changes because things have been patched, etc, but would love to see a wiki where I can just click a character and see the talents you pick, this is really good source for builds, I have like 5 tabs open with each video for the moment😂
@cRPGBro at level 5, they wont let me pick advanced skill: tu, i have to pick basic skill tu, which throws off the guide. i just push all the skills one level back. probably a change at some point
Finally, thx mate, I was struggling with Pasqal 😅 Seriously your builds are the best, they just work and outrageously well at that. Your Cassia and Argenta already outperform my MC🎉 What do you plan next?
Thank you so much! Argenta really is the main DPS of my party, as my MC is mostly for support (but with heavy nukes I barely never use due to Argenta sniping everything down, hah!) I think Abelard as Tank should be next, or Officer Buffer Merc!
Thanks for the build, love it. Make more sense for me to have Pascal as a Grand Strategist than a bounty hunter. Also, it will make me able to get rid of Casia ( don't like her, she is too powerful makes the game boring) So maybe I will go for a mercenary soldier/bounty hunter dual pistol ( maybe also plasma) instead of her.
You may want to go back and redo some of your character build videos, they changed how some of the skills work, like filtering protocols and seize the initiative.
I'm working on updating all builds for the latest patch & Void Shadows DLC, updated PASQAL BUILD is here: ruclips.net/video/hbmeo4Ng8vE/видео.html And have also done Cassia, Abelard, Kibellah & Psyker MC.
Hello. Thanks for another great build as always, but I have to ask. Have you completed the game? Me (and plenty of other people) are encountering gamebreaking bugs (mostly at the start of Act 4) and can´t really continue playing. If you have some input on that issue, PSA would be much appreciated. Cheers.
I hope someone sees this. I'm doing something wrong or there is a bug... When I first used this build it was awesome, but then sometime in late act 2, 1AP plasma shots started to use up all weapon attacks, period, no matter how many AP I have. I might have 5-6 AP left after my shot, but all attacks are greyed out. It's not a range issue because he's always way back. Anyone have any idea what this is? I've searched Google and Edge and all I read is that Pasqal is awesome and OP and it's driving me a bit nuts. He used to work just as described here and yes, he does have "Filtering Protocols".
Great build ! I made a navy officer warrior (like Abelard) can you do a video for him, for my char i would like to be warrior and ranged, a polyvalent build i guess. Thanks.
It fixed a few, but sadly a lot of the damage boosting ones like Inspire from Master Tactician are still bugged, I think the next big patch will come next Thursday!
omg finally, been looking at paqual's stuff and was wondering what a good build would look like, like the character but i feel im not using him well how viable is melee pascal? or maybe even a hybrid
Pascal is definitely very melee viable as well! Not as much attack spammage, BUT he does have some nice Tech Priest exclusive talents for melee, one of which boosts his damage by loads!
This build is completely insane. I've had pasqal now ending almost every fight in the game in 1-2 rounds of combat. Each hit doing a minimum of 600-700 damage and if a fight lasts long enough close to 2000.
Just bought the game, and this is very intriguing! But this video is 3 months old... Has the infinite attacks loophole been patched, or it still works?
I found the benefits of grand strategist rather minor and the amount of extra clicking to get value of them overhelming. At least assasin give him mobility.
In my opinion possibly the largest selling point is acting first: ideally, you want to finish fights before enemies hit you, or you want tankiness to survive those hits, so debuffing enemies so you finish combats turn 1, getting enough momentum from his turn to launch Finest Hour, or at least giving the 20%+ armor buff to the party (even if the enemies aren't clumped, you can study target and then target combat study such that it hits only that target) is immensely valuable. Of course, that assumes you have Argenta/Yrilet/main character/someone else built as a dedicated damage-dealer: if you were instead relying on Pasqal himself, I agree bounty hunter or assassin would probably be preferred.
I don't think I would bother with the Plasma Pistol on Pasqal. Even speccing into Plasma, for Chapter 1 I would stick with a Longlas until you get a proper Plasma Gun right near the end.
on my 2nd playthrough, man you know the developer must have been horny for pascal for making him one of the most broken characters there is. Aside from the most broken talents possible, you also have a gun that adds your int*2 as damage. there is a reason skillmonkey's don't have good attack, or else they become good at everything. im running around doing 550 damage per hit, and most of those are AOE damage, so it comes out to ~1500
So flak armor is not better then the tech priest armor. I am looking right now and the armor percent is 36 instead of 35 for flak. The item description does not take into account the extra armor you get from logic.
"this talent is bugged at the moment" is a really frustrating phrase for a video 5 month old, especially when you hear it that often. It really puts into perspective how bad it is for Owlcat to release the game in such a broken state, specifically for the community build around the game. Like, how are we supposed to know if it was fixed yet or not, go through all the changelogs? And it makes sense for content creators to make these videos shortly after(or before) the release but then they are making videos based on a broken game, and unless the game is popular enough the videos are unlikely to be updated. So this kind of releases really hurt the game in the end, even after they are "fixed". Not complaining about you obviously, but about the Dev. Hopefully you'll make updated videos, like around when the DLC come out.
They do stack! It's just that usually by the time Cassia debuffed the enemy they are so weak especially depending on party composition that Expose doesn't matter much. Argenta for example with my build can easily bypass Armor%, which Cassia also debuffs automatically through Undam the Sea of Souls Talent, same for Dodge with Eye of Oblivion and stat debuffs.
Because it's been 7 months and they changed a lot. Everything was nerfed on almsot all builds you find online. Some stuff got straight up removed or changed. Regardless despite the changes every build should still function in Unfair.

Thanks! Will do!
Bro you got the best builds out here!!
Thank you so much!
I find you didn't quite touch on how crazy Persistence of the Forge is. The +Hit chance past 95% goes to crit, and very quickly building up to 100% crit. 11 hits in a row, at least 6 of them guaranteed crits at 95% hit chance.
over +hit goes to crit? That is good to know!
It can be picked indeed! As our Pasqal does have the space for some of the generic Talents.
It's just that usually I have Argenta killing most enemies before he ever gets to act even with GS boost!
Fair. I use it mostly as a boss killing ability (since it has to be the same enemy) after Argenta takes out the trash mobs.
Also when you do the Abelard video mention the Get Into Cover interaction with Cassia's Mastery of Time stacking.
inflict despair seems like a pain to set up
I think he's great at melee too because he has that tech priest talent that gives MP based on INT. but Plasma/melta talents are also great!
What's the name of that talent?!
@@20storiesunder Acceleration protocol - start with +int bonus MP, After every single successful melee attack, gain Int bonus/2 in MP for the next round.
Excellent guides! Keep them coming, your guides made this game much more enjoyable!
Find someone that loves you like cRPG Bro loves Finest Hour
And Initiative/Going First 😁
@@cRPGBro Fixed. 😊
thx for your effort! hope all builds of fascinate characters and more!
And thanks a lot for the nice words and the comment 😁
This is almost exactly my build, lol. Having said that - I wasn't aware of the bug with Overcharge Protocols (And honestly didn't test it), so I may end up respeccing to get rid of that talent. Honestly though, he peforms super well even with the wasted talent and I'm playing on Unfair, so maybe there's no need.
Yep, but the more damage the better 😁
Great build - fun to play, but I've made alterations (I pushed strength to 45 for heavy armor and power armor later, as it seems fitting for a tech-priest to want his own suit of powered armor, especially since you get to meet a dude wearing one during act 2 (no, not saying more - don't want to spoil it!))
You mean basic tech use?
Made this build but I seem to only be able to get a single plasma shot off? Anyone else have this issue?
He only gets the multi attack when an officer uses their heroic ability on pascal.
One slight issue, the ability to take advanced skill tech use is a bug currently. You are still meant to take the basic skill tech use first, but the restrictions wasn't set up properly. Could also be why the re-roll isn't working properly either.
Noted!
Sadly I picked Tech Use as far as the normal feat but the re-rolls were still bugged.
Same for the Demolition line with Argenta.
Great build! Pasqal is a beast with plasma weapons
Yep, very thematic and very fun too!
well now im kicking myself for not noticing that pasqal had his own unique talents
many of the companions do, but to troll us Owlcat puts them all at the bottom of the list lol
Toybox is your friend in this.
The wait is over
Really needed this, thanks mate!
fun fact: with plasma !pistols! there is an item that lets u shoot a 2nd time in a round for free if u score a critical (true even for the area attack, its free!)
Nice tip!
Great character. Great video. Thank you!
@cRPGBro at level 5, they wont let me pick advanced skill: tu, i have to pick basic skill tu, which throws off the guide. i just push all the skills one level back. probably a change at some point
Finally, thx mate, I was struggling with Pasqal 😅
Seriously your builds are the best, they just work and outrageously well at that. Your Cassia and Argenta already outperform my MC🎉
What do you plan next?
Thank you so much!
Argenta really is the main DPS of my party, as my MC is mostly for support (but with heavy nukes I barely never use due to Argenta sniping everything down, hah!)
I think Abelard as Tank should be next, or Officer Buffer Merc!
@@cRPGBro Great, looking forward to it
Love your content bro.
You’re the reason I buy some crpgs
Thank you so much!
I'm always glad to help.
Pasqal: "Where's archmagos Amarnat?"
Abel: "Yes."
I'm working on updating all builds for the latest patch & Void Shadows DLC, updated PASQAL BUILD is here: ruclips.net/video/hbmeo4Ng8vE/видео.html
And have also done Cassia, Abelard, Kibellah & Psyker MC.
Hello. Thanks for another great build as always, but I have to ask. Have you completed the game? Me (and plenty of other people) are encountering gamebreaking bugs (mostly at the start of Act 4) and can´t really continue playing. If you have some input on that issue, PSA would be much appreciated. Cheers.
sorry to point out again the need to redo these builds however at level 29 i could not take tech use as it was maxxed out and went with logic instead
Great build as always
Thank you! Cheers!
cant get advanced tech use at level 5. have to get base tech first. -__- is there an updated version of your builds ?
Awesome video as always. But can u make warrior build? Nobody making good video about warriors😢😢😢😢
@cRPG Bro
Maybe an update because of the new patch?
Thanks.
Another great build. Thanks a lot, m8! Too bad about the bugged talents. Do you think that the new patch fixed any of them?
It fixed a few, but sadly a lot of the damage boosting ones like Inspire from Master Tactician are still bugged, I think the next big patch will come next Thursday!
omg finally, been looking at paqual's stuff and was wondering what a good build would look like, like the character but i feel im not using him well how viable is melee pascal? or maybe even a hybrid
Pascal is definitely very melee viable as well!
Not as much attack spammage, BUT he does have some nice Tech Priest exclusive talents for melee, one of which boosts his damage by loads!
could u explain me some thing ? how to shoot 11 times if after 1st shoot, all mp are spended?
Thanks. Now do Heinrix :)
This build is completely insane.
I've had pasqal now ending almost every fight in the game in 1-2 rounds of combat.
Each hit doing a minimum of 600-700 damage and if a fight lasts long enough close to 2000.
Many of the grand strategist bonuses also scale off of fellowship so wouldn’t that be a better pick than weapon skill?
On Level 4 i can not take advanced skill TU, Should i do basic instead ?
So the second attack of plasmas is not a burst surrounding my character but in fact a ranged attack...
I know it's a big ask, but is there anyway to make Idira not useless? I like her commentary so want to bring her along.
Just use lightning staff and the psy attack with the right abilitys she is even stronger than argenta.
83 hours of gameplay, and I discover only now that Pasqal has unique talents...
Just like with Cassia, they are sadly at the bottom of the list!
awesome job, ty
Just bought the game, and this is very intriguing! But this video is 3 months old... Has the infinite attacks loophole been patched, or it still works?
patched
The best part is acting first, always!
But the Combat Zones can also help, with either more defenses or more damage.
and what if my main character is a grand strategist already? Should i go Assasin for Pasqual?@@cRPGBro
So would you rather Finest Hour this Pasqal or your's Argenta?
Arg will have better single target damage while this has great aoe damage. Depending on the encounter, you have different tools to enable with FH.
Argenta usually!
As she has better range with Sniper Rifles & higher Crit Chance & Damage through Soldier Talents & Camaraderie!
I forgot the most important thing in here is a Filter Protocols that -1 AP of Plasma or Melta shot. And THE FINEST HOUR! That's why I have cooldown.
Yep, it's a really great combo!
I dont understand How he gets more than one shot a turn? Unless filtering protocols aren't working
in the name of the omnissiah i thank you
Take a shot every time a talent is bugged and just doesnt work in this game and you'd die of alcohol poisoning lol. great guide though
Really missing all the +Damage bugged talents!
if your in need for a good laugh: try Inferno Pistol instead of plasma weapons combined with Long-range aim lens!
I don't think I would bother with the Plasma Pistol on Pasqal. Even speccing into Plasma, for Chapter 1 I would stick with a Longlas until you get a proper Plasma Gun right near the end.
Pasq can also work with Rifles, it's just that later the AP refresh with Plasma gets really good!
@@cRPGBro Yes but I just mean it's worth waiting until you find a proper Plasma Gun, rather than the weaker pistol.
Hey man is there any melee-focused build in this game?
on my 2nd playthrough, man you know the developer must have been horny for pascal for making him one of the most broken characters there is. Aside from the most broken talents possible, you also have a gun that adds your int*2 as damage. there is a reason skillmonkey's don't have good attack, or else they become good at everything. im running around doing 550 damage per hit, and most of those are AOE damage, so it comes out to ~1500
Very useful.
Glad it was helpful!
Pascal does not have BS Tech Use. So he cannot get AS Tech-use at level 5
He is nerfed pretty hard now his plasma spam is gone mostly.
Heinrix Assassin next please ! 🙏
great, make more build fo main char plzzzzz
is tide of excellence working now? thought its still bugged and not work
So flak armor is not better then the tech priest armor. I am looking right now and the armor percent is 36 instead of 35 for flak. The item description does not take into account the extra armor you get from logic.
Yep, sadly even early his special armor is outclassed by common gear!
Money well spent
Anybody know if overcharge protocol is patched yet?
Do Cassia's debuffs not stack with Expose weakness+weak heart? Or is it just not worth it because of dimishing returns?
They do stack!
It's just that usually by the time Cassia debuffed the enemy they are so weak especially depending on party composition that Expose doesn't matter much.
Argenta for example with my build can easily bypass Armor%, which Cassia also debuffs automatically through Undam the Sea of Souls Talent, same for Dodge with Eye of Oblivion and stat debuffs.
Pasqal is so versatile and useful, unless you make an INT based RT, pasqual has a permanent place in the party.
Yep, even at his lowest he's still great for the Skill checks!
Just started this game. I can't seem to get the number of attacks out of Pasqal
Because it's been 7 months and they changed a lot. Everything was nerfed on almsot all builds you find online. Some stuff got straight up removed or changed. Regardless despite the changes every build should still function in Unfair.
