Ah, Saturday 12th July 1986: soaking wet from the rain, covered in mud from standing on the pitch, ringing ears due to standing so close to the stage, couldn't speak for three days from singing along. What a fantastic gig that was.

@@paulmcinerney5995 Funnily enough, I know exactly which Queen gigs I've been to. It did indeed heave down all the time on the Friday. Saturday afternoon was dry, then it bucketed down while Status Quo were playing (Roadies running on with towels & drying guitars) and cleared up by the time Queen came on.

They are legends for very good reason, their catalogue is hugely diverse and every song you listen to will instantly become your new favourite. I urge you to listen to Somebody to Love live at Montreal 1981 and White Queen live at the Odeon Hammersmith 1975. From a band whose songs were sung better live than their studio versions, these two performances are possibly their best, but then there’s also Who Wants to Live Forever live in Budapest and this song Love of my Life live in Rio. A crowd of 200,000 people singing the song back to Freddie. I could go on and on, but start with those two first...and wouldn’t we all love to wake up next to Freddie every morning? 💞💕💞
I recently saw a video of Brian May playing this at a recent concert with a video of Freddie in the background. I recommend it. Make sure you have a tissue to hand, it’s beautiful and very sad.

Freddie Mercury also did an album of duets titled Barcelona, with Spanish operatic soprano, Montserrat Caballe (her nickname is Montsy... easier to say!)
PLEASE... I HOPE that you will react to songs from them also! Some are: "The Golden Boy"; title track "Barcelona" ...and two songs that go together: "Exercises In Free Love" & "Ensueno". ("Exercises In Free Love" is a demo Freddie did, singing the SOPRANO notes he had written for Montsy, so she could hear how it was supposed to sound; "Ensueno" is the final song, a duet with Montsy singing the soprano line/joined by Freddie singing a beautiful lower baritone part.)😇💕
