- Do you have weeds growing through your gravel? Are you always pulling them and they keep growing back. Well I have the answer for you. I'll show you the best weed killer I've ever seen. RM43 is the brand. It's a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way. I use about 4-8 ounces a year on my driveway. This works best if you have a bunch of sunny days coming up. Takes about a week to kill everything.
Thanks for watching!

I see alot of good ideas here. Try adding a surfactant or sticking agent to get the product to stick to the leaves, some folks use dish soap. This will also allow you to cut back on how much grass killer you have to use. Spray on warmer sunny days with little to no wind to avoid the drift on the desired lawn.. I have someone who also adds a pre emergent like "PREEN" for garden weed control over the driveway to Aid in vegetation control. Also avoid throwing any grass clippings on to the driveway when cutting the grass. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip!
Never heard of Preen. Thanks 😊
This product already has surfactant
I inherited a small house and trying to keep weeds in the gravel driveway under control have been driving me insane for about 2 years. Thank you for the tip on this product.
You bet.
I have a 1/2 acre gravel parking lot and tested several herbicides on 1000 sq ft sections measured out so the test would be completely fair using 6 oz per gal. and the Roundup 365 kept the weeds down the best over a 5 month period spring thru summer a lot better then the RM43 that I had to constantly respray with regular Roundup. I even tried bags of cattle salt which worked but didn't last long. Roundup 365 is not cheap but kept weeds at bay the best. Next spring will be trying Prodiamine 65 pre emergent herbicide ,it's cheap and more effective so I've been told.
Nice. I wanted to do a similar test this year just never got around to it. Thanks for sharing.
I use the same product. I would recommend adding the herbicide before filling with water to mix properly. Removing the spray nozzle from the hose will prevent it from foaming so bad.
Thanks for the info.
As a licensed spray operator that is bad advice.... you never add your herbicide first..... last thing you need is to have it bubble or blast back into your eyes or skin...
Round Up 365 seems to last longer than RM43 I was using RM43 for a few years & it does work but realized there wasn't much price difference in Round Up 365 and RM43. Once you kill the grass spraying Pramitol on bare ground seems to help keep vegetation from coming back.
I think I'm going to do a time lapse video of RM43 vs Round Up vs Vinegar to see which kills fastest and which lasts the longest. Probably do this in the Spring.
Weird I seem to be in the minority but rm43 worked better for me than Round up 365
Thanks for the video, it's nice to see what other people are using. I bought a product called Diquat and it is listed as an aquatic herbicide but it works really well on dry land too. I use 1oz, per gallon and it turns the weeds brown in two days. The question is how long will it last?
Yeah. Keep me posted. Curious about that.
I use diquat also it work real fast. I've been trying to get it in larger quantity .
I noticed that the wind is blowing pretty hard. Look at the flag. Best organic & most economical household product is vinager. Works great.
Thanks for the tip.
Thanks for the video, i have recently moved into a new house with a very large gravel drive way that i have sprayed, whats the best way to get all the dead weeds off the ground , I used a leaf blower but not joy, do i have to use a spade and clean out the stones ? Or does anyone have any good suggestions . Thanks :)
have kids pick them up!! :)
I just leave them and over time they just go away, driving over them or what not, but does seem like a good job for my kids :).
I have the same exact situation. What do you do to clean up the dead weeds?
I leave them. Over time driving over them and wind with take care of them.
First you should not spray when pets are outdoors. Second you are way over spraying. One swip over an area will kill the weeds. The rest is just a waist of product. Surfactant and lazer chemical dye should also be used with this product. The dye will help you see where you have already sprayed and it will fade in a few days.
Yeah it worked great. Thanks.
Already has surfactant
10% strength vinager with small amount of salt, works faster and does not require excessive replication.
Thanks I'll try it out.
Is this safe around dogs and other pets?
You should wait for the are to dry before I let my pets outside near it. But I'm pretty sure my dogs were outside when I was spraying, they're fine.
You would think they would make the sprayer wands longer.
Tall people problems.
and NOW THAT THEY ARE DEAD HOW DO YOU REMOVE THEM
I just leave them and over time they fall apart and blow away. But I guess you could get some kids out there and have them do it.
It’ll be back in 3-5 weeks after it rains. Tired this. It only kills the leafs. Not the plant
Nope. if you just use glyphosate, weeds will die but then come back in 30 days. You can spray a spot then see a new flush of poa in cold season, or crabgrass in summer. That is not a pre-emergent and is just a temporary fix. I am going to look into Pramitol as it is a pre emergent. I just don't have time to go through the process you lay out here every 30 days!
Yeah I don't blame you. Mine last about 60 days. I actually just sprayed yesterday. Took me about 10 minutes.
@@NicholsCounty the most important question is, "How long will you last continually spraying a carcinogen?"
@@MissDebra Do you ever travel by car?
Where is the part of the driveway where it was effective?
The whole thing
@@NicholsCounty first time?
better watch that little dog or it will posion itself
Spoiler alert. It didn't kill itself.
@@NicholsCounty Nice reply. Herbicides are VERY bad for your pets, as they can get it on their feet and then lick it off. You might be dismissive now, but in a few years when your dog gets cancer or other serious diseases you will be left wondering whether your carelessness may have contributed to its suffering.
Noxall is a great pre-emergent for gravel driveways
Thanks for the tip.
Thanks, I’ve been trying organic methods but it doesn’t last long at all.
Yeah the vinegar trick doesn't work so well.
All the weed doctors commenting this product already has surfactant in it. Why waste money
Still works great.
Hmm mate I wish you would wear some better protective clothing as seem of these chemicals are really very toxic. I use a combination of glyphosate, bindii and clover killer, dishwashing liquid, and a tree killer for maximum effect.
Thanks for the tip.
Anyone find this in Canada?
I looked pretty hard and couldn't find anyone shipping to Canada.
Likely already banned like everything else 😢
You should put your dog inside if your pet licks it your dog could die.
Yeah I definitely should have done that. But, good news, he didn't die.
I've used this stuff....not pet friendly. Took over a week to work. The worst part is if your a shade tree mechanic or like washing your car in the back yard...FORGET IT. Doesn't matter how long it sits it will transfer to other areas like dead grass tire marks in yard and rain will make it run in yard too. Awsome for fence line but causes damage everywhere else.
Yeah it does take about 5 days or so to work. But works great. I haven't had any issues with dead grass near my drive way where I haven't sprayed (it rains quite a bit here).
Don't get me wrong I use the heck out of it along my fence line, two acres or so..but I use spectricide for for driveway it's rain tolerant, pet and child friendly in about 30 min. And start seeing results next day. Kinda like washing my truck I have more than one product for that too.....all good 👍. Have a great summer!
It's glyphosate and that is a carcinogen.
Yeah everything is a carcinogen now a days.
Roundup should be illegal
Or just spray vinegar on it..
Yeah I heard about that. Maybe I'll try that out sometime.
@@NicholsCounty works great. I think we live in a world sometimes when we feel we need to buy a store brand fix for an easy & chemical free way that was used ( and still is) before products like "Roundup" or a similar products came into being. Cancer is of course being linked to these products especially if you have wells where it can leach into your water and is poisonous to pets, animals & birds. I just use white vinegar in a sprayer and is just as effective and hell of a lot cheaper.
@@jamesdean8669 I'll Try it out and maybe make a comparison video.
Stop using these poisons.
But they work so well.
@@NicholsCounty That's what Monsanto said...
