Uhhhh, doesn’t this just burn up your cvt since the car is in drive? The car clearly wants to go forward, so there is torque on the cvt. I’d recommend only revving in neutral. 🤷♂️

CVT is one gear that simulates an automatic transmission. I'm not sure if there was a "proper" way to use the paddle shifters since there's technically only one gear on the car.

brake boosting hurts the cvt even on the stock tune. if you want to launch it or simulate gears just get a manual guys...

You would have to call dealer to confirm. Mine said that it does. But I can easily swap the stock intake on if I need to bring it in.

Hey bro I just bought my first civic hatchback and I was wondering the difference between the Street vs Race MAF. Which one will require me to not tune my car?
Street doesn’t require tune, race does but if you’re not going to upgrade the turbo then just get a street version of the MAF
Seeing this footage confirms to me how much that engine moves with the stock motormounts. I cannot get this thing to shift as smooth as my Accord (manual).
Motormounts, especially the rear, is way too flimsy. Guess ill be ordering that PRL mount...
Probably not an issue for CVT, but it is for manual.

Do you have to tune up first to put the intake ?
Don’t know if you’ll even see this but I actually installed the k&n version of this in my car and to answer your question no you do not need a tune. But you DO need a tune to get any horsepower increase. On stock turn with an aftermarket intake you will receive no horsepower gain but hey it sounds dope

@@chris_timefk8 Nope, only the later 10th-gens have them. My 2017 EX hatch lacks it, but my mom’s 2020 EX hatch has it. Probably happened at the same time they did the facelift and added the volume knobs etc. inside. The steering wheel and the trim decoration running from left to right on the dash also look and feel different between the two, and hers has power seats while mine doesn’t. (Both are EX!)

Does it matter what intake u have? I have an intake made of spectre parts and I don't get any turbo whoosh, only air sucking woosh

Its is required to tune the car after installing short intake? And also does a heat cover have enough space with short intake?
There are 2 models 1 with standard bore for no tune and one with bigger bore which needs to be tuned

Do you have heat soak issues? The prl short ram is recommended to be within a heat shield
You’ll only get heat soak in stop and go traffic and hot weather. If you’re really worried about heat soak with a short ram, just get a performance intercooler after, it’ll reduce it significantly.

@@Hondaddy TSP doesn’t shoot flames. Just be reasonable with it, respect the CVT (e.g. don’t launch), and TSP is pretty nice.

The turbo won't spool while it's in park, so you won't get the induction sound he's looking for

Not at all. Although some cai require a tune.
Brake boosting is tremendously bad for a CVT transmission. You’re putting all that torque into the drive belt… as soon as it starts slipping, it will only get worse and worse. And the only remedy is a transmission replacement. You don’t rebuild CVTs you replace them.

No tune needed. Depends what kind of intake your getting. Some require tune. Most don’t.
does this affect your engine in a negative way?
Not really no problem for the motor but it will tear your transmission up holding the bag or the E brake on while you press the gas,

Do you have any issues with this I installed a JF auto intake from eBay and my car is now making a a weird noise when idling in sports mode and it causes the car to vibrate a bit
No issues at all.
You probably installed one that is a non-standard size for the MAF. So because the diameter isn't as stock, the MAF will underreport and cause it to idle poorly.
I'd either have it tuned on the new diameter by a reputable tuner, or delete it ASAP...

Not for the short ram but for the cold air, yes.
@@chris_timefk8 Its not whether its cold air intake or not, but you need to check if the tubing diameter is stock or not.
That way the MAF will not underreport. It should clearly state if its race MAF or not... If it doesn't, dont buy it.

If you shift the gear to S. If you have a ex or lx, there's no sport mode. Sport is only on sport, sport touring models.
