So Glad my wife's 1980 Mustang was an inline six. The starter was EZ. Now the carb bolts backing out causing vacuum. leaks that was another story.

What a rookie move putting that starter back in after it was in the car with a ruined flywheel. Idc if it was a week old cmon jay when it’s such a bitch to change and why take a chance on getting stuck. And what made you think it was the solonide if the starter was actually working but just not hitting flywheel? Idk I guess you like to lay in the dirt….

Definitely not a rookie having owned about 20 foxbodys. The windings and brushes in fact went bad well after I changed the flywheel. The bendix teeth were fine. It'll probably go bad again because parts are absolutely garbage.
