This is a really significant signing for the club for so many different reasons. A real statement of intent. The way May plays fits exactly what we need in terms of goals but also the type of character the fans will love. May will be a real fans favourite because of the goals he will score and the way he works really hard for the team. I've watched an interview he did when he was at Charlton where he talks about his late arrival into the professional game, and the fact he was a 'normal' working man has given him a real sense of appreciation of what is to be a professional footballer and what the fans demand and want to see. I think the fact that he was a wanted man and we got the deal done says a lot about the management and recruitment team. May clearly wants to be part of the project (sorry 🙄 hate the word/phrase project). A brilliant signing and this also helps to appease all those fans getting inpatient with us doing our business. Trust in the club. Professional and determined to get the type of players that are needed and wanted. Of course, it's positive that such a significant signing is in early doors so he will be fully involved in the pre-season so he can hit the ground running. Saturday 10th August.... can't come soon enough!! 🌍 🏐 KRO 💙
Thanks, Richard! I agree, a real statement of intent that we mean business this season. Not only getting a proven goalscorer but taking him away from 2 rival teams is an amazing bit of business (By rivals I mean top 6 clubs). The Charlton fans were saying he is an absolute workhorse so I think this is the perfect vision for Chris Davies. Not only someone who can put the ball in the net but someone who is going to work hard for the team. He also scores a real variety of goals which is exciting. I know we're only 3 transfers in but I feel things are shaping up nicely and as you point out the sooner the lads can get out on the grass and get that time on the training pitch this pre-season the better we will be as a club. Saturday 10th August is going to be amazing! Can't wait for the season to start. Very best, KRO! (Matt)
Thank you for your comment. If that has been the case I'n sure we would have stayed up! However, we are in League One and we've got him now! KRO and kind regards (Gary)
Quality signing. Our club has been crying out for a striker for years. I'm wondering if Davies will only play a 4231 formation. Could this possibly change owing to our opposition? Totally agree with you, though not wanting to be greedy, but we could do with at least one more striker. I know Jukey has signed, but he'll only be a bit part player. In fact he may only play in the early stages of our cup games and an odd 10/15 mins in the league. Then of course we have Dixon, whereby the jury's out on him in as much as is he ready. Sure are exciting times. I was delighted with our transfers last season. Think I'll be ecstatic if we carry on. Great video once again. KRO lads
Thank you for your comment and we are pleased you enjoyed the video. I said in the podcast that I think we need another two strikers in addition to Alfie May. I agree with your comments about Jukey and I think Dixon may be loaned out to give him some first team experience. It's nice to see the calibre of players we have been linked with and there are definitely better times ahead for us! KRO and kind regards (Gary)
Great discussion gents. I agree with everything said. Signing May has also stopped anyone else having him in their team. Sounds stupid but we have him and it nullifies other teams attacking options. We must create chances for him though and I’m sure with our new manager this will happen. In a creative team he will score 20- 25 goals next season. To agree with Dad lol we do need another 2 strikers at least as I genuinely believe Juke won’t play that many games. Chris will now be assessing our team. I would say Dembele and Bucuna can go. I wish we could make an offer for Cody but I don’t know the real reason why he didn’t play much at the end of the season. KRO
Thanks, Robbie :) I totally agree. We not only got a great striker but we took him away from Charlton and Huddersfield who will be up around the top 6 for sure. Creating chances is definitely absolutely key and I think Chris Davies is going to be all about that exciting, fast-tempo attacking football. I think allowing him some free roam will be key too. From the Charlton fans, they say when he roams he is lethal and gets in great positions. I also was a huge Cody Drameh fan but I feel he may go back to Luton or a top championship club with eyes on promotion to the prem next season. He beats Laird in almost every metric statistically last season. Him not playing made very little sense. Very best, KRO! (Matt)

Do you think if Rooney had the January transfer window that we would still have been relegated? Also John Ruddy said the players couldn’t play the front footed attack minded football.
